This book seemed to drag out a bit for me. I did enjoy the characters and the story but not as much as others in the series. The book did finish nicely
This is the story of the hopeless romantic Ally with the guy who doesn’t know love… Kylie’s stories are sweet, hot and entertaining and this one doesn’t disappoint. It’s beautiful to follow Ally’s journey to self love and also Ethan finding that love were with him all along. The steam scenes are cherry on the cake! Guaranteed fun!!
Holy cow Kylie has done it again! I am not a crier at all and this book has me shedding me then a few happy tears. Her story lines are so real and the characters are ones that I feel I could meet up with in the local Tim Hortons.
Ethan is a no nonsense cop who has his path laid out for him. Can he open his heart and be worthy of someone else’s love?
Ally is all set to give her college love a second chance, but it crashes and burns before it even starts. She has sworn off men and ready to discover what makes her happy. Will there ever be a happy ending for her?
You never know what antics these two are up. I can’t wait to find out what Kylie has planned for the rest of the Happy Ending Book Club.
ETHAN!!!!!!
I LOVED Ethan. He’s so refreshingly different from so many heroes these days in that he is NOT the typical “I’m a playboy and ain’t no one gonna tie me down,” but rather “I am ready and really wanting someone to settle down and spend my life with.” Oh and he’s a hot cop. So…yay Ethan!!!
Ally was a riot! I liked that she didn’t mind dirty humor and that she made a hardcore effort to care for herself first after suffering heartbreak.
This series is so fun to read, and OH MY GOSH I can’t wait for Josh and Hailey’s story! I’ve been given bits and pieces throughout the series, and things just got REALLY interesting!!!
(I received a copy of this book in consideration of an honest review)
Mess With Me is another amazing story written by Kylie Gilmore the sixth, in her Happy Endings Book Club series. I really don’t know how Ms. Gilmore does it. Kylie’s books tend to grab me, not letting go until I turn the last page, and leaving, me wanting more. I could so relate to heroine Ally, a school teacher with a big heart who throws her entire self into anything she does and has been unlucky in love. It was like reading about me when I was that age. Cop Ethan, a foster child who hung around with the Campbells, might appear gruff and tough but he was a teddy bear inside. He just wanted someone to love him. Once he meets Ally, he knows she’s the one but needs time to convince relationship shy Ally that he’s the real deal.
Ms. Gilmore is a wonderful story teller and wrote a wonderful tale in this book. Her characters are relatable, her writing witty and sometimes downright comical. I totally enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. I highly recommend this book to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I really enjoyed Ally and Ethan’s story. The happy ending book club is filled with gorgeous girls who just need to find their perfect man. This book starts with Ally trying to reconnect with her college boyfriend and finding out that he is really not worth her time. Slowly Ethan convinces her that not all men are pigs and that love really does exist. An emotional read with great characters. This is a great series.
Kylie Gilmore has given her readers another emotional read in the Happy Endings BookClub series. The characters flow from story to story & the reader’s are updated on their lives but each book can be read as a stand alone. Reading the entire series gives the reader some additional insight into each character & their motivation but that just deepens your connection to the story. It isn’t necessary to understand & enjoy each story on their own.
Ally Bloom has high hopes for her college reunion. She thinks her old boyfriend is interested in getting back together but that isn’t true. She feels humiliated until Ethan Case, a cop friend of a friend, steps in. Suddenly, he’s every where she turns. What’s going on?
Kylie Gilmore crafts emotional characters that grab your heart & won’t let go. I love her writing style. Ally & Ethan both want the same thing but neither of them think they deserve it. They have to discover their own self worth in order to move on. It was great to get updated on the other characters. Another great read by a terrific author!
The forecast is perfect for a total eclipse of the heart. Mess With Me has everything I’ve come to expect from Kylie Gilmore. Charming characters, hysterical antics and a whole lot of laughter pave the way to a happy ending. Second chances, surprise romances and the welcome arms of family are instrumental to a heartwarming tale of love and fun.
