4.25 stars– NOBODY DOES IT BETTER is the fifteenth instalment in Lexi Blake’s contemporary, adult MASTERS AND MERCENARIES erotic, romance series focusing on the men and women who work for the McKay-Taggart and Knight Security Agency. This is CIA double agent Kayla Summers, and Hollywood action star Joshua Hunt’s story line. NOBODY DOES IT BETTER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from previous story lines is revealed where necessary although there are references to ongoing scenarios from previous investigations and the continuing fall out from a mission that saw the rescue of the ’Lost Boys’- men whose minds and memories were wiped clean of their pasts. The Lost Boys will get their own spin-off series Master and Mercenaries: The Forgotten starting in August 2018.
NOTE: LOVE ANOTHER DAY contains sexually, graphic scenes of Domination, submission, and discipline.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Kayla and Joshua) NOBODY DOES IT BETTER follows the building relationship between CIA double agent Kayla Summers, and Hollywood leading man Joshua Hunt. Thirteen years earlier, rookie CIA agent Kayla Summers turned double agent when the twin sister she never knew, Jiang Kun, was murdered by the MSS, China’s version of the CIA. Five years undercover with the MSS taught our heroine that the world as we know it is nothing compared to the truth. Fast forward to present day wherein Kayla, who now works for McKay-Taggart and Knight Security Agency finds herself assigned to the security detail of Hollywood action star Joshua Hunt, a man whose sexual proclivities tend towards Domination to our heroine’s submissive side, and a man whose friendship with the leader of the Mexican cartel questions his involvement at a deeper level. A number of stalkers including a blackmailing scheme have threatened to destroy our story line hero, a man whose past remains secret and dark. What ensues is the building relationship between Joshua and Kayla, as Kayla and the team at McKay-Taggart work undercover to ferret out our hero’s connections to the Mexican cartel; the search for a blackmailer; and the potential fall-out when Joshua discovers the truth about both his blackmailer, and the woman with whom he is falling in love.
Joshua Hunt doesn’t do relationships and the last thing he wanted was to be guarded by a woman who played the role of his girlfriend and submissive. A dark and tormented history prevents our hero from revealing the truth about the who, where and why of his past-a past mired in abuse, neglect and sexual assault. Kayla Summers is the adopted daughter of two American men who are fiercely protective of the young woman they call their own but Kayla’s history proves she is very capable of looking after herself and the people she loves including Joshua Hunt-the man for whom she is willing to sacrifice her own life and her love as an international spy. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense. There are some scenes of spanking, as well as some questionable acts of discipline dealt in anger and contempt.
NOBODY DOES IT BETTER is a detailed, complex and captivating story line that follows several intersecting paths involving a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters who will struggle against blackmail, betrayal, deception and lies. Allegiances are questioned; lines are blurred; friendship, family, McKay-Taggart and the CIA are double-crossed in a game of international espionage, intrigue, betrayal, power and control. The premise is entertaining and inviting; the characters are numerous, intelligent and charismatic; the romance is provocative and intense.
Lexi Blake is a master story teller. Don’t pass up a chance to read her books.
Joshua is a hug movie star. Who is being blackmailed. So, he hired to bodyguards from McKay Taggart, even his Dom in residence is from Mckay Taggart. Joshua needs a female bodyguard to be his girlfriend / sub. The only woman avaiable for this assignment is Kayla. But Kayla lives in London the other part half of McKay Taggart and Knight. The story only gets better from here. There’s more twists and turns in this story . Can’t wait to see what happens next.
Dark and sweet
It’s no secret that I love this series and this book pulled me in from the beginning.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good dialogues
And the thing I enjoy most of all; characters that comes alive and feels like friends in the end
Meeting the well known characters from the previous books is also a treat, it’s a masterly created world I love to disappear into
The story is packed with feelings, love, some action and a lot of suspense
This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone although to get the context I recommend reading in order.

Kayla Summers is needed for an op from the Agency. She thinks that she is just to get informant from a actor named Joshua Hunt. But things are not what they seems. 2 people come back from the dead and one is wanting Kayla dead while the other one is trying to keep Kayla alive. Which one will win? You will have to read this book to find out.
This series was so great I loved reading them, and now they will be one for the lost boys as well I can not wait to get started on them
Masters and Mercenaries is one of my all time favorite series, Lexi Blake writes the best stories with all the intrigue, evil spies and some of the hottest love scenes. Josh and Kayla hit the ground running, with strong chemistry and sexy banter. Can’t wait to see what Lexi has in store for us next!!
Loved it! Lexi Blake brings new and old characters together and hits another home run with M&M story. And of course…..Ian Taggart shows up and steals all the scenes he’s in!
Nobody does it better will have you gripped and captivated by this story. Kayla is the ray of sunshine that lights up
anyone’s day but at the same time can take a man down twice her size. Josh is the movie star who has a dark past, needs control and doesn’t want a relationship because trusting someone has never worked for him before. What was supposed to be just another mission for Kayla and a contract for Josh ends up being so much more. As secrets are uncovered and lives are put at risk it might just be love that saves them both. Their story gives us the best of Lexi Blake with plenty of action, drama, suspense, passion and of course Big Tagg.
Bittersweet story. Yes maybe the last of the original M&M but not the end. What a great lead in to the next segment of the McKay-Taggart team and an awesome tie in to Bliss. The only thing better than life in Bliss is life with Bliss and Mckay-Taggart blended.
Like all of the books in this series, this one had interesting characters, a interesting plot with romance and suspense. The characters are well developed and watching their evolution in the relationship is fun, as are the thriller aspects. A great read!
Kayla goes undercover as her dead twin sister at the CIA. After years with them she goes to McKay-Taggert and Knight Security business. She is a trained assassin and now a bodyguard. Josh is a movie star with a past that he wants kept secret. He has stalkers after him, and is also being blackmailed to keep is past quiet. He and he already has two of bodyguards from the security company but needs one to pose as his girlfriend and submissive.
Kayla is there to get into a drug lords home because Josh is friends with him and has been invited to the mansion when he goes to shoot a movie in Mexico.
It all goes fubar when Kayla tells Josh the truth he was slightly upset to find out he was being used and wanted her gone. She gets him to let her stay to finish the op. When she gets caught at getting the info they need from the drug lord. Now she has to figure out how to get out of the mess she’s in and hopefully keep Josh too.
Kayla is wicked funny, sexy, and deadly. Josh is a handsome movie star with deep dark secrets and a coldness towards people that only Kayla can get passed. Dom/sub relationship, smoking sex scenes, secrets, and several shocking surprises. I was totally shocked and can wait for Ezra’s story. Plus the lost boys too.

M/F BDSM Thriller
Triggers: Murder, Kidnapping, Torture
Joshua and Kayla have a very lucrative relationship with each other. Joshua is looking for a submissive who can also protect him and Kayla is trying to do the right thing for her agency and country.
Kayla has been living a double life for years. She knows her job and knows that she’s amazing at it. What she is lacking is a companion. When she is hired on to protect Joshua, she knows that her employment is supposed to appear like a true D/s relationship.
Joshua has been searching for a submissive who he can play with, but he also knows that he has to take the people stalking him seriously. What he doesn’t realize is how lonely he’s been. When he meets Kayla, there is an instant attraction and he knows that they will match well.
Both are expecting to carry out their contract and go their separate ways. However, fate and love hand them a very different situation and both need to decide how they want to proceed. There will be betrayal in several forms, risky situations, old players and new players coming at the mystery from several different angles. I really hope in the next book there are more answers, but this was a fast-paced, steamy read that was very enjoyable.

This is the fifteenth (!) book in the series, and really you need to read them all to understand a lot of the back story, and all the threads that are woven through this tale. Whilst there are pointers to remind someone who hasn’t read one in a while, I am not sure that a newbie would really get the implications of everything that is in play. So, I definitely recommend that you jump in at book one and just keep going. The concept of using Bond titles is incredibly fitting, as the stories are the ultimate in unbelievable, but fascinating spy cross and double cross. And right to the end of this one, I was trying to believe my gut feelings but being led along another path. If you enjoy the franchise, then you will definitely enjoy how the espionage is convoluted, continues through the novels, and links with the BDSM seamlessly.
On the overall plot which has been working through all the books, I think that Ms. Blake had an impossible task to make everything tidy at the end… and in fact, there are a few strings which will make good starts to off-shot series in the future. But as much as was possible, I was convinced by the elements we are given access to, as being resolved.
The romance that features in this book starts as fake, and yet Josh and Kay find a connection that they neither expected nor can really accommodate in the plan that each has hatched. Whilst I am not usually a great fan of the inner voice, in this book it is essential, given the level of subterfuge and dissembling. Knowing that they were falling in love made the story a lot more poignant and I did have to stop reading a few times to catch my breath when things got extra tense.
Good, chunky, well-paced, and satisfying read, thank you, Ms. Blake.

The quality of work that Lexi Blake produces is unsurpassed. Her writing is exciting, intelligent and gripping. Her characters are strong, bold, and richly complex. The storylines are dynamic and intense with the right mix of romance and suspense. I laughed out loud, shed tears and held my breath in anticipation of what might happen next. I could not put this book down!
Joshua and Kayla’s love story is compelling. He is gorgeous, talented, haunted and a man in control. She is beautiful, deadly and a highly skilled operative. Together they are explosive. Joshua needs a bodyguard and he wants a submissive. Kayla fills the bill on both counts. Their relationship quickly evolves from professional to personal as feelings develop. A tangled web of blackmail, deceit, betrayal, and danger surrounds them as a mission goes sideways. Truths are revealed, lives are lost and a bad guy gets away. Joshua realizes how close he came to losing Kayla and how much he loves her. Kayla’s love for Joshua is unwavering. They do get their HEA.
I’m a huge fan of Lexi Blake’s Masters and Mercenaries series; there’s something so raw…so primal…so intriguing…so sexy about the world Blake created and the heroes and heroines who lay their hearts, their bodies, and even their lives on the line for their job…for their friends…for a chance at love.
Blake’s newest release in the series, Nobody Does It Better, is the perfect blend of high intensity situations, passionate encounters, and startling revelations, and because there are multiple players with their own agendas when it comes to this Hollywood heartthrob and his submissive/body guard, it’s never clear whose side each person is on and what secrets might end up costing the contracted couple everything.
In the game of espionage, Kayla Summers knows her role and she has handled her double-agent status with expertise and precision even though, initially, she was thrown to the wolves and pushed to make it on her own. Living her life as a spy, Kayla has had to commit heinous crimes and endure hellish circumstances all in the name of justice. As one of the original members of the McKay-Taggart team, there’s not much she hasn’t experienced or helped other members trudge through, but her newest assignment is unlike any she’s ever encountered and by the time the mission is over, it’s unclear if her heart, her body, and her mind will be left in one piece, especially when she can’t help but want to give herself completely over to her client…her Dom…her lover. It’s a dangerous line Kayla is walking when it comes to Joshua Hunt because while he only shows the world his wealthy, regal, and indifferent movie star facade, Kayla sees beneath the acting…beneath the cold exterior, and while it only complicates matters more, she can’t help but want to save him, not only from a past that won’t let him go but also from himself and the scars he can’t seem to heal.
It would be so easy to not like Josh Hunt. He comes off as a very controlled and even tempered man – one who must have absolute say in every aspect of his life and one who has a clear vision as to the role a submissive will play in his life and in his dungeon, protecting and serving his every wile without getting much in return. But because Kayla is skilled when it comes to reading people, readers acquire the necessary insights about all that weighs Josh down and the reasons behind his cold veneer, so because Kayla is patient with Josh, not allowing him to treat her indifferently but also knowing when to back off and give him space, readers can only hope that these two will figure out exactly what they mean to each other and exactly what they can give and take from one another that will allow them to leave some of their past behind in order to move forward together.
Kayla and Josh’s story is not a straight-forward romance, not only because the couple seems to be deceiving one another from the start, but also because there is more to this mission than even Kayla knows and those in control are only willing to reveal small bits of intel at a time. Romantic suspense stories are some of my favorite because there’s a heightened awareness of what’s at stake and both the hero and heroine seem hellbent on doing what needs to be done to protect those they love, even if it means risking their own lives in the process. As I headed towards the climax and falling action of Nobody Does It Better, I found myself reevaluating my observations and hypotheses and hustling to put all the details together in order to solve the mysteries before they were revealed, and while I can say that I honestly didn’t see some things coming, in the grand scheme of things, because Lexi Blake allowed me multiple perspectives and insights the deeper Kayla and Josh got with one another, watching everything play out was one hell of an exciting and wild ride.

5 Star Review of Nobody Does It Better (Masters and Mercenaries #15) by Lexi Blake
Nobody Does It Better is book 15 in Lexi Blake’s Masters & Mercenaries series which is one of my all-time favourite series.
Nobody does sexy suspense books like Lexi Blake. If you like sexy bad ass alpha males, some BDSM, smoking hot sex and characters that will melt your heart and your panties, then look no further.
This is McKay-Taggart London operative Kayla Summers and well known movie star Joshua Hunt’s story. Summer is sent in by the CIA in a joint operation to manipulate Josh into taking her to Mexico. Initially she is to be his submissive but it soon morphs into so much more.
Josh doesn’t do relationships, his past has damaged him too much. However there is something about Kay and the feelings that she brings out in him, he just can’t seen to help himself.
“The only way to beat the darkness is to drag it all into the light, Josh.”
There was a lot going on in Nobody Does It Better and although it is a stand alone, I truly feel you would get more enjoyment and understanding if you were to read the previous books in the series first. Ms. Blake has used this book as a bridge across to her new spin-off series which I am really looking forward to.
Nobody Does It Better is filled with suspense, danger, intrigue and the growth of a deep and committed love; one that made my heart pound at times. This book just flows on so many levels; not to mention the humour that comes out in some extremely interesting situations.
“Sometimes bravery isn’t about slaying a dragon. Sometimes bravery is about getting out of bed every morning and going to work even when the pain is so bad you can’t stand the thought of going on.”
One of the things that I love about Lexi Blake is that her characters are never one dimensional, there are always so many layers and Kayla and Josh were no exception.
This book was phenomenal. I absolutely loved it from the first to the last page. Knowing that this is the last book in the series as we know it is bitter sweet, in fact I took longer than normal to read it as I didn’t want it to end.
