She tasted his sweetness, his power, and his love, and it destroyed him. That iron heart has turned to ashes, leaving only a heartless beast. One she vows to tame. One she vows to save. Before he rips her own heart out.
Unfortunately, This final book didn’t quite hit the spot for me I did like the plot twist with Tensley and loved that Molly went all out to try and save her love but then after everything she went through to try and get him back instead of him recovering and wanting to regain all he had lost I felt that we took a huge step back with this.
We again have Tensley fighting his feelings for Molly thinking they make him weak and we’d been here before. I also couldn’t understand why being king was so important to him. Yes, when he was heartless and he wanted the power but later when it kept him away from his wife and child it just didn’t make any sense.
And as for Lilith what was with all the pandering I didn’t get why Tensley didn’t just get rid of her he let her boss him around and indulged her tantrums leaving Molly to prepare for the birth of their child alone. And also where did his devotion towards his men go Ares is still raging war while Molly his pregnant wife is left shouldering his responsibility’s whilst Tensley allows her to whilst himself playing king in a cesspool of snakes priorities man.
It takes something drastic for him to finally crack and go to her and then make some decisions regarding their future together but then he’s again still humouring Lilith whilst she lords about as Queen and this really pissed me off. I thought it showed blatant disrespect towards Molly his real queen and Tensley allowed it.
Despite the above, I still liked this and this series has been enjoyable this just wasn’t my favourite book out of the four but it did have closure and a HEA and it was well written I still recommend this series if your partial to paranormal romance.
Blackest Gold series is going on my favourites list for PnR, one I will happily revisit time and time again. R.Scarlett has created a seductive, mystical and exhilarating fantasy world where Demons and Daemons will capture your heart and soul.
Tensley and Molly captivated me throughout their epic love story, they went through hell and back to get their dark fairytale but with every book I fell more in love with them.
It was a bittersweet feeling knowing this was their last book, I didn’t want to say goodbye. I loved the way things turned out, but I’ll miss them.
There were some fantastic characters in this series that I need to know more about. So I’m really happy there’s a spin-off series and Beau has his book, as he really intrigued me. ( I’m a sucker for the side characters. )
I’m hoping R. Scarlett carries on with these books as I need Illya, the Prince and Seto to get their stories too, so fingers crossed.

Review:
I feel like, like in this book, my review start to sound the same for every book. More of the same.
I hoped, after the cliffhanger from book 3, that this book would be different, more interesting. And for a while it looked that way. But the interaction between Molly and Tensly is still the same.
Molly is still allot of talk, she got better, she showed more skill but it’s a bit to late for me.
Tensley, while in the beginning I understood, is still all over the place. He wants her, pushes her away then is mad at her being gone and leaving him, vows to get her back and not let her leave again, and then it happens all over again.
Tensley was being really stupid in the last two books, I though he was suppose to be a smart business kind of person but he agrees left and right without really thinking it through. Lots of things could have been avoided if he thought for a second.
I also thought it was out of character for Tensley to be so hell bent on keeping the crown. He never seemed interested in it. I thought it had something to do with his lack of a heart but after he got it back he still wanted it, until he didn’t.
The underlying story was interesting enough to keep me going but the series needs lots of work in order to make it amazing in my opinion. The flow of the story needs work, the world building needs work, the characters need a bit of work, the writing needs work.
It felt like the author didn’t really know her characters and didn’t really know where she wanted to go.

Hell had a new king; and he was bloodthirsty.
This series is amazing. I fell in love with Molly and Tensley in their story. It engulfed me whole, I was literally a part of their story and I loved it!.
R. Scarlett gives us a heartbreaking, danger-filled story of a demon and his heart.
It continues where the 3rd book left off and I dont want to say much and give away anything but suffice to say that Molly loses something precious here, something big.
And I’ve been rooting for the return practically for the whole book.
“Demon’s don’t love, they destroy.”
But what happens when they grow a heart, and it leaves their body…walking around, open to danger?
To Crown a Beast is the conclusion to their epic story.
I really loved Molly here. She became a Queen, strong, diplomatic, resilient, but still kept her humanity.
I loved getting a chance to see their struggles with life, love, and reigning the kingdom of Hell.
How does one give a heartless back a heart?
How does the King of Hell open himself up to a weakness? One that can shatter his whole rule….

“Two sides warred inside him. He wanted to destroy her-he wanted to protect her. But both wanted her. Craved her. Something far too holy for his bloody, tainted hands.”
I am so sad to see this series end, but the journey with this couple was epic to say the least. They went from complete strangers to a team of utter and complete domination able to overcome overwhelming odds. These two have faced every threat possible and in this book, the stakes are higher than they ever where before. They not only have threats from all sides, they have to battle each other to get back what they had lost. Emotional, fast-paced, heart-pounding, angsty goodness that I could not put down!! The devotion and strength of their love for each other just oozed from the pages and was intoxicating! Tensley and Molly will stay with me for a long time to come!!

This is the way to end a series, yet leave us wanting more because one simply can never get enough Tensley Knight. He is EVERYTHING (he may have officially knocked Rhysand off of the throne of Supreme Book Boyfriend). Forget Molly, I want to be his dolcezza! Well, I guess Molly’s alright too 🙂 As y’all know, this is a spoiler free zone, so I can’t/won’t reveal any plot points. But I will say that you must read the first 3 books before this one and that should not be a problem at all because they are all fantastic. All of the issues that came about throughout the series are resolved in To Crown A Beast in a very satisfying way and we may or may not get a hint at some more books to follow in the Blackest Gold world (YES PLEASE!!!)!! There weren’t as many sexy time scenes because Tensley and Molly spent more time apart, but the sexual tension and angst in the book is off the charts. I just loved this book and this series. It gets all the stars, all the wine glasses, EVERYTHING! Go read it now!

Wow!! This is the way to end a series!! Action packed from start to finish, and I could not get through the pages fast enough. Molly showed so much strength in this story, as she was no longer a young and naïve girl. She knew what needed to be done and wasn’t afraid of what consequences there might be. That strength allowed Molly to keep going, when there wasn’t much hope left…..and it allowed her to tame the beast in Tensley.

All I can say is read the Blackest Gold series and be amazed. What a thrilling and captivating series. Molly is a fierce and strong heroine. Her evolution from Vein of Love to Crown a Beast is incredible and that’s why I enjoy reading a series. There has to be a character arc and a development for the main characters and there most certainly are with Molly and Tensley.
In this final installment of To Crown a Beast all odds are against Molly and Tensley but she doesn’t give up. She claims her destiny as wife, mother and warrior. It’s exciting, beautiful and heartbreaking but Molly and Tensley’s love is the key and boy do they love. I had to go through a lot but it was all worth it cause I was entertained from book 1 to this final book of the Blackest Gold series. The introduction and chemistry between Beau and Lex only makes
me crave their story. All I can say I’m a fan of R. Scarlett. She has captured my reader heart.

This book was bittersweet! It was the perfect conclusion to one of my all-time favorite series, but I had a hard time letting these characters go! I fell in love with this detailed world, amazing characters, epic romance and the twisted politics. R. Scarlett has etched a permanent spot on my favorite authors list and I am impatiently waiting for anything else she writes because I WILL be devouring it ALL!
R. Scarlett has the ability to suck me into a story form page one and keep me captivated until the last page! Her writing is absolutely breathtaking and poetic. And in this book, I found myself highlighting entire passages in the hopes of being able to re-read my favorite parts (which was pretty much the entire thing!). I can’t get enough of this dynamic, intricate world that R. Scarlett has created. The relations between Demons, the dark and twisted politics of the High Court and the backstabbing fight for power were all fascinating! I am keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed that this will not be the last time I get to visit this world and these characters!
Of course, I LOVED all of the characters! Molly’s character has definitely gone through some major character development since readers met her in book one, Vein of Love. I loved seeing how strong and independent she was in this book. Her ability to step up in such a vicious environment and take control was very admirable. She was able to be vicious to protect her family, but still showed empathy and understanding even when it broke her heart. She has got to be one of my favorite female protagonists! T-E-N-S-L-E-Y!!! He, of course, was absolutely perfect! From the HUGE cliffhanger ending in A Vow of Thorns, I was not sure where this book was going to head, but it was the perfect conclusion. I don’t want to talk too much about his development in this book since it treads in spoiler territory, but just know that you will NOT be disappointed!
One thing that I really commend R. Scarlett on is her ability to make every character important, each with their own dynamic story. I felt like in this book, she really left a lot of bread crumbs that I hope she will build off of in future spin-off books (or series…wink wink!) I can definitely see three stories that can emerge and I am HIGHLY interested in each one!
The romance in this story was amazing, but looking back at it; I think that this story focused a bit more on character and plot development than the romance. The romance aspects of course were perfect and the main theme revolved around the connection between Tensley and Molly, but the High Court politics and struggle for power took center stage in my eyes. However, the parts that did focus on the romance were great. I LOVED seeing Tensley fight his feelings and Molly try to pull them out of him. The angst in this book was at an ALL-TIME high! I was holding my breath, anxiously waiting to see what would happen next!
I HIGHLY recommend this series! But I would suggest buying ALL the books right away since most of them end on HUGE cliffhangers that will make you NEED the next one right away. And if paranormal romance is not your cup of tea, I would HIGHLY recommend R. Scarlett as an author. She is currently working on a contemporary romance and yes, I am already recommending if without even reading it because I KNOW if will be phenomenal!

This is for sure one of my favorite series ever because I went from disliking the first book to saving this (well tried to, at least) as my last 2017 read. So much happens, and after all the rough patches this couple goes through, they finally had a moment of feeling right… and then it got messed up all over again.
I had such anxiety with starting this because it was the end and because the last installment had ended on such a sad, desperate note. Seeing the way it all continued was both a relief and an emotional ride that I didn’t want to stop. I loved the writing, loved the drama, the choices they made. I’m TOTALLY relieved that nothing weird happened with the male when it usually does in other books, I think I would’ve broken down and stopped reading if that happened! But no, it’s a good kind of pain, and in the end, they totally get a great HEA. It’s a must read because it turned around for me and ended up being one of the best urban fantasies I read. Read it!

The perfect ending to The Blackest Gold series! My heart shattered in this one. But the Author put it back together so beautifully. The growth of the characters astounded me. That is definitely one of my favorite things about this series… We get to see how much the characters change over the entire series. It’s absolutely beautiful! So many questions were answered. So very many. All of the emotions were hit in this book. It had heartbreak, anger, suspense… I absolutely recommend this book and this whole series!

A great finale to the Blackest Gold series! While I do think it suffered a bit, because it IS the final book of Tensley & Molly’s story. I do still feel it was a strong finish. It wrapped up storylines that have been running through the entire series, and it I really enjoyed not really knowing how things would truly finish until the end. In some books the endings are expected, this one… I wasn’t quite sure what would end up happening. Plus, Molly, Tensley, the Beast… so good.
I love that that there will be spin-offs of this series, and can’t wait to see what R. Scarlett does with these characters because they are not characters that will be easy to make everyone love.

Perfect way to end this great series. I finished at midnight and went to bed smiling like a loon. I got everything I wanted.
This book picks up from the cliffhanger at the end of A Vow of Thorns (and what a cliffhanger that was). Tensley and Molly are still in the High Court but EVERYTHING is different and I mean EVERYTHING. Oh except Lilith, Lilith is still definitely a conniving evil B#@CH!
Molly really shows her strength in this book and the innocent we met back in book one is long gone. She has to protect her family at all costs and more than steps up to the challenge. Tensley is very different in this book too, stronger but also emotionally more vulnerable and this only made me adore him even more.
There were lots of plot twists in this one, plenty of gasp out loud moments and the crazy hot chemistry we have come to expect from these two. I don’t want to give away too much about what happens as I can’t stand spoilers but I am certain that readers of this series will be happy with the outcome R Scarlett has given us.
“She’s my crown, my court, my queen. Nothing matters without her.”
Tensley you swoon inducing beast I love you.
Oh and PS I have to say I wouldn’t be upset if the author chose to write some novellas about Illya, Beau, Seto or the Prince – just saying….
Unfortunately, This final book didn’t quite hit the spot for me I did like the plot twist with Tensley and loved that Molly went all out to try and save her love but then after everything she went through to try and get him back instead of him recovering and wanting to regain all he had lost I felt that we took a huge step back with this.
