Sawyer wants a life of her own. Finn wants Sawyer gone. She’s escaping her past. He can’t face his own. The Lord of the Swamp is about to meet the Lady he’s never wanted. Until now…
I am a big fan of T.M. Frazier. I love her books and writing style. But for some reason, this duet really stuck with me. As much as I wanted the characters to be happy, I was still really sad when it ended. Outskirts is book one, The Outliers: (The Outskirts Duet Book 2) completes the duet.

A fabulous totally captivating read, it had all the feels and a bit different from what I am used to from T.M Frazier, I love her Dark themed books so this was completely left field, all though I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
Sawyer is 21 and after her mother has passed wants freedom from the really tough upbringing she has endured she is very naive and sheltered but escapes her fathers clutches, She wants to live her life her way. With the help of her mother who left her some land she escapes. arriving in Outskirts where we meet Finn who is battling his own demons,Yet in each other all though slow at first they recognise both have needs and demons to beat, attraction of sorts, Both characters are delightfully drawn out the supporting cast are equally as good, For me this is one of Tm Frazier wicked talents she possesses in all her books I have read, she has the ability to bring such feelings and emotions to her characters personalities that they are almost 3 dimensional which is quite rare in the book world, she brings them to life so easily that you know within a couple of chapters they have your heart and take your breath away. You feel you know them intimately, and her secondary characters are just as well written. This for me personally is the sign of a good writer, I care I invest my time in these people not just as a story but as individual identities. I was rooting for all in the book.
There are lots of excitement along the way to keep you invested in the outcome. This does end on a slight cliffhanger which for me is why it got a 4 star and not a 5 because I truly hate cliffhangers had the second book not been available I would have avoided this book which would have been a shame as it was so good a sit is I have now got book 2 and I’m really looking forward to reading it.
Highly recommended read, I also loved the cover beautiful The Outskirts: (The Outskirts Duet Book 1)

Finn is living as a recluse in the swamp but Sawyer comes barreling into his life as she escapes her past. She claims to own the land just outside his front door and he is desperate to get rid of her but ends up wanting her in his bed instead.
Book one sets the scene, giving us all the world building needed. We meet the main characters and feel the conflict that Finn is dealing with, he wants Sawyer gone but also wants her close. He wants to look after her, but is afraid to and doesn’t feel he deserves to be happy or find love. This book is filled with emotions and obstacles that Finn and Sawyer need to overcome. There are so many secrets and it ends with the mutha of all plot twists.

Omg this book was everything. I’m kicking myself for waiting so long to read this book. Sawyer & Finn are a couple that are unforgettable. This story and the characters will have you hooked. The ending HOLY SHIT I can’t wait to read what will happen next. Truly another phenomenal read by T.M that everyone must read.

When Sawyer’s momma commits suicide, she leaves the religious compound that she was raised in along with leaving the abusive man that she called her dad. Sawyer goes to the Outskirts as she was told to do in the letter her mom had left. When she gets to town, she befriends the local police (a feisty female named Josh) who helps her get to her land. This is where she meets the drunken Finn.
Finn – hiding away the past couple of years since the suicide of the girl that mattered the most to him. Drowning his guilt and pain with as much whiskey as he can stomach. But when the mysterious girl that is beautiful with freckles moves onto the land by him, something happens.
When they give into the sparks between them, will they be able to leave the past exactly where it belongs…in the past?
I loved this book – both of the characters have been thru alot, while one drank his pain away the other ran from hers but together they began to heal. Tm built a world that I found myself getting submerged in until the cliffhanger ending and I am so ready to dive into the next one.

My mind is blown! The Outskirts is lighter than TM Frazier’s other books, but still packs a punch that will knock you flat. I loved Finn and Sawyer’s relationship. Their relationship was so sweet. Frazier is a master at creating villains that you hate. And she did just that in this book. And the twist at the end! I never saw it coming amd I am totally shook up.

I love TM’s writing and from the very first page she draws you into her world of secrets and lies. I’m not sure what I was expecting after reading the prologue I just knew I wanted more.
Told from a dual POV, the book was steady paced as the scene was set and the characters developed. I rightly guessed some of Caroline Dixon’s secrets and connection to Outskirts but once again TM manages to go that one step further in her quest to deliver the knockout blow which you know she is going to do. The ending leaves you gasping for more and book two is going to be a tumultuous ride. I instantly loved all the secondary characters especially Josh and Miller, the banter between the pair had me laughing aloud. As ever TM’s wit is woven throughout in her unique way of writing.
The only reason why I haven’t given this book 5 stars is that I felt that Finn came out of his self imposed exile far too quickly and Sawyer went from a naive, god fearing virgin who wasn’t allowed to show skin for being banished to hell for all eternity into a woman who quickly learned to embrace her sexuality and was comfortable with stripping off in front of a man and being touched in intimate places. I understand that she knew her way of living was wrong and constantly questioned her fathers ethics but after being brainwashed for 21 years I would expect a little more apprehension.
A captivating must read!

Something different from what I’m used to by T.m. Frazier but it was so amazing! I couldn’t stop reading and I’m dying to know what happens next ‘cuz that ending just left me wanting more…
When Sawyer has to say goodbye to her mother, she’s left to deal with her father’s iron hand but when an opportunity arises, she’ll have a chance to get away for good. When she finds herself in a small town, she’ll find out more about herself in ways she never thought possible but freedom isn’t the only thing she finds in The Outskirts. Finn lost so much in the last few years and when Sawyer comes into town, something stirs inside him; a spark he thought was long gone. The more he gets to know her, the more he feels. But the past can creep up behind you and when it will finally get caught up, secrets will be revealed…

Another scorcher from TM, a scintillating story of powerful kind of love that chases away Dark clouds and brings sunshine to dismal lives ! Visually compelling, simplistic yet profound, full of heart warming earthiness , this story will warm your heart and make you believe in love .
As soul stirring as country songs and as wholesome as soul food, it’s a plenishing book , that I loved gorging on . Too bad it finished very soon!! :,(
Now about the actual story-
Sawyer Dixon is trapped in an unholy environment and forced to bury her personality, her dreams, her voice. Be a non-thinking, non-feeling person. But an inconsolable loss slaps her in her face and she grows wings, To fly away to freedom.
If I kept on living the way I was. The same way Mother had lived. Subservient. Submissive. Abused. Battered. Then that sermon, those very same generic words and lies about a life she never lived, would be spoken at another funeral someday. Mine.
And she lands in…….the middle of nowhere, literally. Her neighbour is a reclusive Yeti Of The swamp. Complete with head up his ass and an attitude of a Bear stung by bees !!
And that’s on his “nicer” days. Finn Holis is drunk out of his grieving mind, generally as social as a swamp Ape and hell bent on driving (scaring) away anybody who steps on his land. He resides in his crumbling swamp-shack , wandering in the croc infested bayou . He just wants to be left the hell alone.
But Sawyer isn’t going anywhere.
No ma’am. Come tornado or storms or the piss ass drunk neighbour. She’s here to stay , cause she can now breathe freedom, even though it’s laced with rotten sulphur like swamp stench !!
I can’t tell you anything more about the who, why and how of the story, but I can tell you this .
It’s P.H.E.N.O.M.E.N.A.L.!!
The setting is southern- charm and hostility included. A Podunk town in the middle of nowhere, in an almost abandoned town with a handful of population, where everybody knows everybody else’s business, or history for that matter.
The small town charm is in full swing. Tracie finds beauty in all the natural places in the story and you’d think they’re right in front of your eyes
Mist rose like steam off the damp ground like it was making an offering to the sky. A prayer for night to become morning once again. The sun answered by rising slowly until its rays burst from behind the tallest of trees, bathing everything in its blessing of light and warmth. Turning the dark into light once again. It was while looking at that kind of beauty, that kind of wondrous creation when I couldn’t NOT believe in something or someone more of a higher power.
Endearing characters like Critter, Josh and Miller. I loved Miller and his adorable sass. He’s a self proclaimed “Jack Of All Trades” asommelier of narcotics. , though he’s master of none 😉 and his witty banter with Josh are real fun to read. Miller even goes on Super fun dates of tacos, sushi, and anal. . Yup he’s a Prince Charming alright , wearing his “Fancy Tshirt” and all ( I loved his t-shirt Frazier)
The book ends on a major WTF moment !!!
I noted and loved how Tracie writes chapters in an old fashioned way, ending them on a surprisingly high note. You’ll get what I mean when you read it.
My only trouble- CANNOT wait for the next book… #WriteTracieWrite.

I have to say every time I pick up a T.M Frazier book I love it, love the story, love the writing and I just love getting hooked in the book. The Outskirts was no exception. I love a book that I read and I can really see it playing like a movie in my head and this book really had me imagining everything.
I was reading this and thought oh this is going to happen, or maybe this but nothing had me guessing what the end brought and I think that’s because T.M knows how to throw you off the train of thought you really should have taken.
When it comes to Sawyer I loved her innocence and I loved that even though she had been through hell she was still pretty positive some people may call it naive but I think it was beautiful and to see her grow and really find out what life is like the bad and good was awesome to read and I felt like I was experiencing everything for the first time with sawyer.
Finn was the perfect amount of broody and sexy and really loved his and Sawyers banter and love to hate each other. Finn was a hurt guy and really didn’t feel, he felt like he had nothing to live for and that was sad. He was feeling guilty and it was really crippling him. I loved how making Sawyer happy made him happy and he was really a selfless kind of guy. He had a lot of growing up to do in his way but I did enjoy reading his story
If your looking for a book with an innocent heroine, one broody guy and one hell of a story that will keep you hanging on to the very last page and keeps you begging for more and can’t wait for the next book then this is for you.
Big fan of T.M Frazier and if you haven’t read her books do it you won’t retreat it and if you have then you will not be disappointed in this book.
A big 5 stars for this baby

Sawyer has lived a sheltered life with her abusive father, a religious nut. She has no freedom to make any choices regarding herself and finds herself running away to Outskirts where she finds a reclusive Finn who has issues of his own.
I’m not sure why I didn’t love this. It took me awhile to warm up to this story, however, Josh and Miller are great secondary characters and the four of them together made this a good read

I’m such a huge fan of TM Frazier I’v read almost all her books and grown attached to them but The Outskirts has got to be my favorite …. so far . The blurb really drew me in and when I got to see the cover was so sold , was a little sad to see this be a duet instead of a stand alone but after reading it it was understandable the their story wasn’t finished what a twist . Outskirts is a powerful read that will have your emotions going haywire with a small little town , friendly people , one hot grumpy neighbor , and a heroine that blossoms throughout the book . Sawyer and Finn ( looooove the names and when put together just wow ) are both dealing from loss but coping differently , the night they meet one another was unexpected and was going to change their course of life , Sawyer and Finn become addicted to each other can’t get enough of the other , help become better and the sex scenes the SEX SCENES people is true TM . Sawyer is a great heroine it’s beautiful to see her discover certain things that are common in every day life she also lets go of the anger and resentment she holds on to . Oh my gosh Fin just YUMMY he also grows a lot and gets out of his hermit ways once a certain beauty enters his life . The secondary characters are really lovable I just hope they get their own happy ending along with the couple in the story .
