I’m cursed. At least when it comes to finding Mr. Right.I’m tired of men that only want one night stands or blind dates that are nothing but awkward and uncomfortable. I’m tired of avoiding inappropriate text messages and the constant disappointment of always meeting Mr. Wrong. After all these years of dates that lead nowhere, I can admit that it’s me. I’m the problem. I’m shy and picky and … I’m shy and picky and cursed. Definitely cursed.
So I’ve decided two things.
The first? I’m giving up dating and relationships and men in general. Maybe, possibly, forever.
The second? I’m going to have to try harder to avoid Ezra Baptiste.
If I couldn’t hack it in the kiddy pool of dating, I certainly can’t swim in his deep end. He’s too successful. Too intense. He’s all man when I’m used to nothing but boys pretending to be grownups. He’s everything I’m afraid to want and so far out of my league we might as well be different species entirely.
So he’ll need to find a different artist to paint his mural. And a different graphic designer to help him with his website. He’ll need to find someone else to glare at and flirt with and kiss.
It can’t be me.
We’re too different.

I am so loving this series, and kicking myself at the same time that I haven’t read them all before now. I enjoyed this one more than the first book, I think because I could relate to Molly on a deeper level. I got her insecurities, her troubled upbringing and apprehension on finding her feet in the world. But what I loved the most was Ezra, oh Ezra! Firstly, if you needed any inspiration on this man, just look at that cover, so drool worthy. He was the epitome of what a book boyfriend should be, very swoony.
This couple were different but in the best possible way, they blended well together. They bounced things off each other, once they got over that initial interaction and disagreement. It can take a while to find your forever person, and for Ezra who had battled with love before, he knew straight away the difference he found in Molly, and didn’t want to let her go. Molly discovered her anchor in Ezra that kept her grounded, and bought about a stronger sense of common sense and relentless drive. Their HEA might have been different to others, but it was right and it was theirs.
The best thing about being late to a series is you can jump straight into the next book without having to wait. I’m excited to know who has captured Wyatt’s heart.
After reading far into the night I finally finished this and went to sleep with a big smile. I love this book even more than the first and would give it more stars if possible.
I don’t think it is even the plot or the storyline that I like so much. It is the writing style of the author, the emotion she puts in the words and sentences. It grabbed me and made me feel. The story of Molly and Ezra was a loving slow burn and I highly recommend!
Some highlights:
Or maybe it was for the art that meant so much to me, the creative outlet I relied so heavily upon to heal the broken pieces of my spirit. Maybe it was because I knew I didn’t have the ability to fix any of the things that haunted me.

Ezra had been this life-changing event that had shaken up everything I’d convinced myself that I knew about the world, dating, and men. He didn’t come into my life gradually or delicately. He swept in like a wildfire, consuming every single thought and word and thing until there was only him and me and it was like we were always supposed to be this way.
***
Our story was a complex piece of art that we worked on every day. It wasn’t always beautiful in the traditional sense, but it was captivating, and worthy and endless.
Rachel Higginson is a new one-click author for me. (2017)
This was another great book in this series. I definitely recommend this book, this wonderful series and this great author.
Ezra and Molly is the pairing I have wanted to happen for so long. This book did not disappoint!
This was cute. I liked Molly from the last book, she’s very witty and funny. The email banter between her and Ezra was great. The only thing that bothered me while reading were all the strike through words. I’ve never read a book with soooooo many, it was distracting after a while. I’m not a super huge fan of slow burn but the build up was pretty good. Can’t wait to read about the next couple, I love Wyatt!
Molly Maverick is just trying to figure out what the heck she’s doing with her life – she can barely boil water and she’s stuck at the bottom of her marketing job and now has the boss’s sleazy son to contend with. So never in a million years did she think she’d fall for the terse, successful restaurateur Ezra Baptise that she’s done everything to avoid since their first meeting.
“You’re gorgeous and surprisingly funny, loyal, and this crazy, successful restaurateur. And I’m weird and flighty, late all the time, and I’m pretty sure I’m unemployed. I’m a mess, Ezra. We’re so different.”
“Thank God,” he murmured. “I don’t want to date myself. You make me smile when I’ve had the worst day. And you make me see the world in brighter colors and unique angles. You’ve opened my mind to my business, but also to my friends. I would be so boring without you. We are different, but in the best possible ways. And maybe that means we’ll fight more than other people, or disagree or whatever, but we’ll also makeup more because of it. And laugh and talk more, and feel more. Molly, I’ve waited my entire life to find the person that didn’t just want something from me, but wanted me. All of me. Now that I’ve found you, I can’t let you go.”
They may be different, but their different strengths make them work so well together – like two puzzles pieces meant to join together. And when you find someone who loves you just as you are, who have to hold on to them.
Charming, humorous, with authentic characters that will capture your heart The Difference Between Us is a great second installment in the Opposites Attract stand-alone series.
Another great romance by Rachel Higginson! I pretty much inhaled this book. I read the previous one in the series right before I read this one, and honestly, they read like one book with two different voices. Which is a good thing. Both books are less than 300 pages so they were both a quick read!
In The Opposite of You, Ms. Higginson explored domestic violence and emotional abuse. In The Difference Between Us, she explored sexual harassment in the work place. I really like that there’s more to the sweet romances. It makes the story a bit more complex and the relationship between the hero and heroine more meaningful.
We met Ezra and Molly in the previous book. Another thing that I really like about both stories is that the heroines first impressions of both heroes was that they were these arrogant jackasses. And while both men behaved in such a way in the beginning, the arrogance didn’t last til the end of the book. I hate romances with big, angry, rude heroes who are always yelling at the heroine. Ezra started to show his true colors about 25% of the way in and stopped being a jerk to Molly, while still being a confidant business man.
Molly had a lot of insecurities and doubts about her job and life in general, and I really identified with that. She’s 27 years old and while most people felt like she should and did have everything figured out, she was a regular 20 something person trying to make it at a job she didn’t love because that’s what she felt like she should do even though that’s not what she really wanted to do. I loved how Ezra inspired her and pushed her, without being demanding and overbearing, out of her comfort zone. I think that’s what we all need and deserve in a relationship.
I can’t wait to read the next book about Wyatt and Kaya! I sure hope we get a story for Vann too!
(Side note, not a big fan of this cover. I, like many others, want the models on book covers to look like the characters. That model looks to be about 25 years old and Ezra is supposed to be 8 years older than Molly’s 27. Plus he’s supposed to have longish, black hair. That guy has brown hair and a buzz cut. Plus he’s supposed to be devastatingly handsome. That model isn’t unattractive, but he’s definitely not handsome either.)
