Can a letter to Santa re-awaken the joy of Christmas?A mysterious nanny has a special message to deliver to a young orphan and her uncle who long to feel the joy of Christmas in their hearts again—but it’s Drew and Natalie who make Holly’s secret dream come true.
This is a wonderful story that reminds us to believe.
This novella begins with the emotional rollercoaster of life. A Christmas fire that leaves a little girl orphaned. An uncle who is afraid that this will scar the child for life, so he takes precautions to protect himself and the child.
Enter the whimsy of Christmas where we all believe in Santa and the North Pole. Santa receives a letter from Natalie, the little girl, asking for a new mommy for Christmas. Santa calls for Holly Berry, an accident prone elf, to help. She is sent to Natalie as a nanny and to help Drew, the uncle, to find a wife.
Through Holly’s misadventures with the mortal world, she is able to help Drew and Natalie heal and live again.
A BERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS by Deborah Cooke is a stand alone, contemporary, adult, paranormal romance story line focusing on one of Santa’s elves Holly Berry, and single father/uncle Drew.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Holly and Drew) A BERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS follows Holly Berry, one of Santa’s favourite elves as she embarks on an assignment to grant little Natalie Sinclair her Christmas wish. Two years earlier, Natalie was orphaned when a Christmas house fire killed her parents, leaving her in the guardianship of her uncle Drew. Fast forward to present day wherein Natalie asks Santa for a new mommy, and Mr. and Mrs. Claus think Holly is right for the job. What ensues is the building relationship between Holly, Natalie and Drew, and the potential fall-out as Holly is determined to find the right woman for Drew Sinclair, all the while falling for the man in question.
A BERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS is a quick and easy read; a sweet and charming tale about a naïve and electronically cursed woman who sets about to ensure the perfect Christmas for Natalie and Drew. Christmas brings back too many memories of the past, of the fire that killed Drew’s brother, so our hero is desperate to protect the niece whom he loves, or is he trying to protect his own shattered heart?
Deborah Cooke pulls the reader into an ‘ELF’™-esque story wherein a naïve and child-like Holly Berry is thrown into the world of humans, a world of which she knows nothing about. The premise is cheerful and festive; the characters are colorful and delightful.
This is a sweet, funny and romantic story. Drew is caring, protective, lonely and caring. Holly is determined, kind, naive and interesting. The storyline is sweet and amusing and heartwarming. The characters are likable, sweet and engaging. It’s a wonderful, feel-good story that I liked very much.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
This was a sweet, heart-warming novella. A nanny comes into the lives of Drew and Natalie, and Christmas returns to their hearts. I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to others.
Loved it! Holly was funny and the story charming. I kept trying to tell Holly to wake up because things weren’t as bad as she thought. Loved the ending.
