WINNER is a modern day rags to riches standalone by author Belle Brooks.
“WOWWWW AMAZING!!!! Truly one of the best books I have EVER read!!I absolutely loved it!!” ~ Jess Rockhold
Belle Brooks has done it again. She pens the story of rags to riches with a twist of fate and a dash of unbridled selflessness which is clearly her expertise. Authentically beautiful, Winner is a must read.~ Author Maggie Schuler
“I won’t lie… I normally don’t leave reviews because I never pay attention to them. I tend to make up my own mind. But having said that, this book begged for one! I fell in love with the Author within the first 4 chapters and I read this book in one sitting! The book is incredibly well done, the characters are fully “Fleshed Out”. You can definitely get a sense of the author’s quirky sense of humor and her ability to get under your skin is refreshing! I highly recommend this Author and look forward to future works from her! Go get this one!!” “Author Vee Townsend

Holy cow this book was great. It definitely made me cry and laugh. I totally loved this book. The characters were pretty freaking awesome as well. Great job
I loved it and didn’t want it to end. Thank you Belle for taking the time to thank your early readers, that was a lovely surprise at the end of the book.
This was a story that gave plenty of feels, a heart stopping moment when I thought the winning ticket was about to go up in flames to love and angst between these two. Winning was about all the good things one can do with a lot of money and yet find love among the dramas of life.
The story was well written and the characters believable. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
This story will have you laughing and crying and gasping wondering what happened and where will this go. Absolutely loved it and hope to read more about the side characters
I found myself sucked into this story at page one. Finlay goes from rags to riches and has the biggest heart of anyone. You just can’t help falling in love with and rooting for him. His and Rose’s story is an opposites attract, from two different worlds romance, but these two are perfect each other. Winner has romance, wonderful characters, drama, angst, heartbreak, loss, and some twists and turns thrown in. Totally enjoyed this story!
An incredible story! From the first page I was completely hooked and couldn’t put this book down. Rose and Fin are both from the opposite sides of the tracks. Fin is sweet, strong, and such a good hearted person, and I just loved his character. Rose has always had the best of everything, but yet controlled by the people in her life. This story is beautifully written, with wonderful characters, and it’s an amazing story of loss, friendship, and love. A definite must read.
Rose and Finlay will weave their story for you to partake in. As you are drawn in it will be like that one do not judge by the cover or further what you see until you walk in the shoes. That is like that in this one. Finlay does not know why but I could guess good until it is shown. Those misfits can show to have the biggest hearts around. Oh then the luck smiles on Tank and this really takes off fast. Follow on the bumps and turns along with these two. Great reading for a run away afternoon.
Broken cages, guilded cages and crossed paths combine for an emotionally charged, fantastic story. I loved the characters, even the rotten ones, and their banter, relationships, and backstories. Could not put this down.
There was so much heart packed into this story the reader can’t help feeling the same roller coaster induced heart rate as the characters. Yanked me right in and wouldn’t let loose!
I absolutely adored this book, I wasn’t sure what to expect as with Belle you expect the unexpected but I was pleasantly surprised with this story, it was everything it was sweet, beautiful story and I loved everything about it.
This to me was a story to show that even if you have money, or you don’t have money it doesn’t make you happy, doesn’t make you better than anyone else and that if you are really down on your luck then it can all change, but it doesn’t mean you change who you are. It was all about a chance meeting and things that occurred just all seemed to fall into place.
Tank was a character who I just loved, when he needed to be taken in and looked after he was but when he could help everyone around him that helped him he did it no questions asked, it was so sweet to read and really showed the softer side to this Tank. He was also protective of who had in his life and it just showed what a fantastic man he really was. He was tough as well as sweet and made me love him even more.
Rose was frustrating at times but if you look behind her walls then you can understand the way she was. I grew to love this character but that was the best part as you grew with her she just came to life and I was so glad I could take the ride with her. The way Belle wrote this character I could just hear the posh way she was supposed to spoke, but Rose was another beautiful soul that was a little misunderstand.
Within this story I laughed, I cried and just felt like I could picture this story as I was reading it, really felt like a movie playing in my mind the ending of that book just perfect it made swoony loved it. It was just a really enjoyable sweet story and from all the books I have read from Belle this is just another fantastic different story and I love her writing.
Would recommend this to anyone, a fantastic 5 stars from
Another 5 star book from Belle. She has such a way with words.
Her books are such a delight to read and Winner was no exception.
I love Rose and Finlay and I love their story . Belle never fails to disappoint.
I love this story so much! Tank wins the lottery on life in so many ways. I love how he was able to help Rose and how the story ends. I highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
“Baby, our life together is just the beginning, but I have a feeling it’s going to be the life of a winner.”
“You’re not a loser, Fin. You never were. You’ll always be a winner to me.”
This is my third book by Belle Brooks and for me Belle just became an author I would blindly one-click every next publication.
Winner is a story about the bravery of finding yourself and at the same remaining true to yourself. It’s about friendship, love and letting go, about winning and loosing and dealing with all the feelings in between.
Belle created some wonderful characters and with her captivating writing style she managed to bring them very much alive in my mind. I couldn’t help myself but falling for Fin (Tank) within the first view chapters. He has such a good heart and puts others always selflessly first. Whne Tank got the ability to change things, he did not only changes his life but those of the people he cares for most as well. He stays down to earth and never forgets where he’s coming from.
The group of friends around Tank, as well as Tessa and Alan come easy to love and I wouldn’t mind meeting those in person.
I struggled a little with Rose, if I’m honest. I see why Rose fell in love with Tank but I’m not quite sure why Tank fell in love with her. For me her character lacks some depth. But some things just can’t be explained, can they? Some things just happen for a reason, e.g. falling in love.
For Alan though I wish him to get his own book. IMO he came a little short here and he deserves a lot more attention. I think his character has totally the potential of mastering his own story!
The twists in this book are well placed and keep the suspense slow but steady. IMO the ending is a little rushed and has the potential of writing a second book, continuing this wonderful love story which reminded me just a little of Romeo&Juliet.
With the story of Winner, Belle shows us that there is always more to the story than it is visible for the eye and you’ll never know a person to the fullest. You shouldn’t judge by outside appearance as you never know how hides behind it.
Life can always change any moment and how it works out for us depends on how we set the sails.
“in life there is always a treasure to be claimed. This treasure is special because it has no map, and it can’t be found. It instead finds you.”
I have read almost all the books by this author and have loved them all and this one was no different. Fin was a different type of character then what I’ve been reading recently, so I loved that he was unique to me. The romance was fun to watch, it was a slow burn feel with amazing attraction, but I have to say I loved all the character interaction best. Each character was their own and they all meant something to the story. Another great book by this author. 5 Stars #2OCCJD
I love this book. One of my favourites from Belle Brooks. What a great story!
You see the boy from the wrong side of the tracks, who has always been told his a looser, and wins lotto and the woman from the right-side meet, Rose is guided by her parents to marry someone to help save their family. Until she meets Fin, only then does she realise that the way her fiancé has been treating her is wrong and decides to leave.
Fin helps her, although after talking with his friend Tess, he realises that he should let Rose go, she needs to find herself and be who she wants to be not who her parents wanted her to be. As always with Fin’s need to help people he does the only thing he can and hopes that one-day Rose can find her way back to him.
Love this novel…
…love Tessa…she is funny, supportive, and lovable…
Love how this book shows, each character path to self discovery…
..their individual journey is sometimes sad, sometimes happy, and also madden…
Love the ending…

This book was fun to read. The characters were complex and entertaining. Tank’s life takes a dramatic turn and when it does he brings the only family he’s ever had with him. During these life altering events he meets Rose. They don’t exactly hit it off, however as they get to know each other a friendship sparks. The author does a fantastic job of painting a picture of the sense of defeat of living in a horrible part of town. The daily struggle to just survive one day to the next. The horror of industrial accidents that can befall an inexperienced worker. The reality of the fact that domestic abuse does not distinguish between rich and poor. This is the second of Ms. Brooks’ books I have read and I am anxiously awaiting more from her. I absolutely love her writing style and that she uses the Australian vernacular.
