What was a fantastic start to this series did not end in disappointment with the sequel. ‘Forbidden bonds’ is as intriguing as ‘Blood laws’. The way the focus shifts onto the lesser-known characters enables a deeper understanding of all the connections between the participants; yet the original characters are still involved. I was hooked from the start and felt sympathy for Tom, who strives for righteousness and deserves love, although his father makes it extremely difficult. The explanations of the internal dark and emotional battles are vividly expressed as well as the importance love plays in healing him and Amelia. I will definitely keep reading the rest of the series to learn what happens to the characters.
The world Tom lives in is the same as in the previous instalment and although people around him don’t know about the creatures that lurk in the shadows, he is very well aware of them. But perhaps not aware of all the dangerous places…
Oh my God, can a forbidden relationship be any sexier. Being a prude, normally reading a romantic rather than erotic genre, I had to hide behind my pillow as I read. Tom is a highly trained sentinel and tasked to guard his hostage, the Asset. As they engage in a social banter in a secluded cabin Tom starts lowering his guard more and more and becomes more and more infatuated by his prisoner.

This is a seriously amazing read. I loved book one, but this book was even better. Amelia is a fantastic character, she’s strong as hell when she has no right to be. This poor woman has been through so much but Tom has as well, the twist? They’ve both suffered at the hands of the same man, just in vastly different ways. The journey that they embark on is one of quick and witty banter, trust, both misplaced and foolhardy as well as growing loyalty, and the betterment of each other. This story is also filled with non stop action, adventure, intrigue, manipulation, gun fights, and so much more. Once again Lexi C. Foss draws the reader in from the very start and holds you there on the edge of your seat until the very end, and I mean The.Very.End. I can not wait to read the next book to find out more and maybe get some of my questions answered.

At the end of Blood Laws we have discovered that things in Issac’s world weren’t what they seemed and Stas was in the process of working with CRF to make things right for him after discovering her heritage and the secrets CRF holds.
Forbidden Bonds is Tom’s story and how he finally breaks away from his fathers “chains” to finally do what is right. Although it may be right, as a sniper and the son of the CEO of CRF he has made enemies. For the woman that has captured his heart he will have to decide if he’s willing to make the necessary sacrifices for her.
I’ve absolutely fallen in love with this series. Since reading the first book I haven’t been able to put down the book and kept reading until there was no more.
Wow! This book is full of suspense and adventure! Right from page one it grabs you and takes you for a ride. Thomas was an overbearing Sentinel from book one. Here he takes a different path. His Integrity steps in and he does the right thing for Amelia. Amelia has been a prisoner that has been tortured and used for horrific experiments by the CRF. The story that leads to the HEA is gut wrenching at times. It also has some very romantic spots. Tom eventually comes to the truth and is finally free from his Monster of a Father. Read this book to find out how this happens. Goodness, can not wait to start the next book. From a New Fan… Pam James.
Tom thought this babysitting job was the worst thing punishment his father could come up with. Amelia has been missing for years and now she has a new jailer. Trying to escape, she decides to use the old feminine weapon: seduction.
Lexi C Foss certainly knows how to build a world you want to live in and write characters who intrigue you and question all the things you think you know about them. Then before you realise, they’re under your skin, in your head and have captured your heart.
This happened for me with Tom and Amelia (and one or two of the supporting crew…Oh B where are you in my life!!). Tom hadn’t been one of my favourites from Blood Laws, but I think maybe that was the plan all along, afterall with an Ichorian father, whose side was he really on?
Forbidden Bonds continues right after the events in Blood Laws (so should really be read first). As punishment, Tom is sent on a “baby sitting” mission to a place that haunts him, with an important asset he’s been secretly trying to protect. Amelia, has suffered so much, but together, they need to learn to trust each other to survive.
I loved this book as much as the first, it has action, intrigue, tension, passion, heart ache and a story line that hooked me in from the start. The way their characters developed and their relationship grew was beautiful, but so hard at times when it’s revealed what both have been through and the betrayals they’ve suffered. I’d also love to meet the Hydraians, the banter between them relieves the tension and Balthazar is certainly a scene stealer! Can’t wait for more of the Immortal Curse series, I thoroughly recommend it.
