Love can be unexpected, but sometimes, the fall is inevitable.Augusta is a carefree soul with the heart of an angel, the face of a pixie, and the body of a…pregnant woman? When she decided to carry a baby for friends who couldn’t do it themselves, she knew she’d have to give up a lot—coffee, seeing her feet, and possibly even her chance at happiness with the man she adored.John doesn’t thrive in … adored.
John doesn’t thrive in chaos. Control and routine are more his style. Some might even say he’s anal. This way of life has served him well for decades, but he’s due for a change. That’s easier said than done, though, particularly when your motivation is about to give birth to another man’s child.
When old wounds reopen, sometimes clinging on to tight control is the best way to survive the ride. But when the only way to grasp the future is to reach for it with both hands, you have to let go of something.
Some things in life are inevitable, but that doesn’t mean they’re easy.
(Although this book is the complete tale of a couple, I wouldn’t consider it a stand-alone. For the richest experience, I recommend reading the series in order.)

Inevitably Yours is very well written. It has a steady pace, and the characters are well developed. I was able to read it all in the same day (lucky me!) but I don’t really feel like I have a book hangover from it because while it did have drama, it wasn’t over-the-top/must keep reading/edge of your seat/must see what happens next- type of drama. It was a nice change of pace to the last few books that I have read. A lot more realistic to the behaviors of how most people would likely react to the circumstances. I won’t give it away, but it was good to read the way they each fell in love with the other, and it felt more real than many romance novels out there.
John is allowing a bad past to tarnish his future. Augusta is helping friends and hurting the man she loves. Never fear, the Reids are there to gently help guide the way! You’ll want to spank John and admire Gus’s strength through it all! I’m almost convinced that my parents stole me from the Reids. You’ll enjoy every minute, every up, every down, and question John’s intelligence at least twice!
This was my first book by Verlene Landon and also the first book in the Imagine Ink series that I had read. Let’s just say that Inevitably Yours has made me a complete fan of not only this series but this author and I will definitely be returning to the beginning to read the series in its entirety. The emotions that this author was able to pull from me within the first five chapters of this book was astounding. John and Gus’s story is one that will pull at your heart strings and seep deep into your soul. Their story is one of heartbreak, understanding, guilt, sacrifice and inevitable love. Inevitably Yours made me laugh, cry, frustrated and feel emotions so deep and connected to the characters that I was positive I was there right beside them. Augusta is a character that you will bond with and wish for a friend in your life as selfless as she is. This book deserves nothing less than five stars and I was glad that it gave me the opportunity to not only discover another amazing and talented author but a book that touched my heart.
Control is a leading force for John and feeling the loss of it or lack there of when he is around Gus has him split in more pieces than he can count. Gus has issues of her own but nothing like John. They both love with all they have but it being enough to bring about their hea is another story in it’s own way. This is one of my favorites of the four books I have read in this series so far. It seems like the author waited to pour out some vicious demons and hold them over our heads. we continue to hold our breath and work on our emotions with these two. It wasn’t just about how broken they were it was about how they always put others first and just how much they individually had to work through to so they could be everything they needed for each other. From friends to lovers made sure these two knew more than ow sexy the other was, they knew their heart. Inevitably their hearts could only lead them to one place, each other.
Great story and yes the characters and back stories make this a series to read and enjoy. Yes you can read it as a standalone but why would you do that and cheat yourselves of the rest. Just get them all and bask in them. You will be so happy you did. Now I am off to the next one.
