Sequel to The Soldati PrinceSoldati Hearts: Book Two Foxling Toka has served the Soldati king for centuries, and now he attends to the kingdom’s cherished Soldati prince. It’s a position of honor, and as Toka helps the once-human prince adapt to their magical realm, he finds joy in their friendship. He also grows bolder in his encounters with Rayner, Soldati warrior and the king’s second. But the … second. But the laws are clear: servants and Soldati are not permitted to mate. It doesn’t matter that Toka lost his heart to the dashing cad long ago.
Rayner never imagined he would fall in love with a servant, but the clever and beautiful foxling has ensnared him, and he resents the regulations keeping them apart. When an arrogant and spiteful king visits from a neighboring realm, Rayner is in danger of losing everything. But Soldati warriors don’t surrender, and he intends to fight all the harder to keep Toka where he belongs—in Rayner’s arms.

Great book, great series
Charlie sets the scene for a new world for us to explore, the main characters are shifters, Tigers with foxlings in the story.
Toka who is a servant in the kingdom is yearning for one of the Solidati Warriors Raynor.
This relationship is forbidden, not only that there is a rouge king from a neighbouring realm who doesn’t like Raynor and will do anything to make his life hell.
This book is just as great as the first one, I can’t get enough of this Kingdom and the characters.
Can’t wait to read book 3.
Would highly recommend.
4.5 stars
This is the second in the Soldati Hearts books, and I wouldn’t go into it without having read the first.
I read through this novella in one sitting. It was unexpectedly intense (there is a trigger warning for references/scenes of sexual assault), fast-paced, romantic, and emotional. It grabbed me and wouldn’t let go.
I really adored this couple. Rayner, the Soldati King’s best-friend and second, along with his love interest, the servant foxling Toka, were introduced in the first book. They have been having a secret romance since their class differences wouldn’t allow for them to officially mate. Toka is adorable, sweet, and smart, and Rayner is a charmer who is so completely smitten with Toka, he can’t stop thinking of him. They are so sweet with each other, hoping for a change in Soldati law that will allow them to officially be together. A decision made in Rayner’s past comes back to haunt him when the tyrant who leads the bear shifters comes to the kingdom for an official visit and things go very, very bad.
I enjoyed the first book, but I liked this one even more. It packs quite a punch for a novella and really had me on the edge of my seat. Rayner and Toka really go through a lot here, and much of it isn’t pretty. Riley and the King are back and play a big part in the story. I love how Riley and Toka’s friendship has grown and how Riley has grown more certain in his role and isn’t afraid to speak his mind.
I’m so glad I finally read these books and am excited for the next one.
Wow!!! This book blew me away! Toka and Rayner are the sweetest couple ever! When an unexpected visit changes everything, can they really be together? This book had all the feels and I can’t wait for the next book! Highly Recommend!!
Little fox
I adore Toka. He is the very best of all of Soldati: kind, sweet, good and with a wonderfully naughty side. Rayner may act carefree a lot of the time but he is loyal, protective and not afraid to stand up for or fight for who he wants. “For as long as Toka lived, Rayner would be his home, his solace, his heart.” So many emotions in this book and they all pulled at my heart, including some not so nice thoughts about a nasty, nasty piece of work. The HEA in this one was hard won but worth it. Another exciting, magical adventure in the world of Soldati and I for one am looking forward to the next.
The Foxling Soldati by Charlie Cochet is the second book in tge continuing series, Soldati Hearts. This is a fantasy shifter m/m romance about forbidden love and overcoming obstacles and striving for change. The story itself is well written, taking place in a fascinating world with dome of the most intriguing characters. Each page draws you in deeper and keeps you needing more of the steam, drama, and suspense. I find myself anxious to read more about the Soldati and seeing more of this fantastic world.
I was able to read an advanced copy of this title and am reviewing voluntarily and honestly my own thoughts, opinion and reactions based on that copy.
This story gave me so many feels. I loved it so much!! Toka is a foxling servant for the Prince. Raynar is a Soldati warrior. They have been circling each other for years. They no longer hide their feelings for each other until another kingdom comes to visit. The spiteful king decides he wants Toka. They are in trouble of losing everything. The story has action, romance, and some light angst. This was so good, absolutely loved this story! Fantastic!! I am voluntarily leaving a review form an ARC that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
Lots of action and adventure. A truly evil tyrant to defeat, a king with too much at stake, true love made this one worth every minute. Toka proves to be worthy of his mate, his king, and his prince’s friendship. He’s the true hero of the book and I loved him to pieces. Rayner has taken a good long while to acknowledge his feelings for Toka and buck the laws governing matings. Riley continues to impress me with his snark and love. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on the next book.
I’m really enjoying the Soldati Hearts series. In the Foxling Soldati, we now have Toka and Rayner as the main characters and showcase couple and love story. I was happy to see that Riley and Khalon, who were the featured couple in the first book of the series, the Soldati Prince, made significant appearances in this book. Normally, in a series where it features a new couple in every book, the previous couple is not even mentioned or just make an insignificant and quick appearance or is just simply mentioned.
I’m excited for the next couple of Ezra and Segreti, but I hope Riley and Khalon will continue to have significant appearances.
