This book was just, *sigh*…dreamy! Intimacy, intrigue, and whimsical romance fill the pages of this second chance love story.
Apollo and Paige’s character dynamic was enchanting and piqued my interest immediately! Their chemistry was a slow burn of attraction with an unknown spark that fueled their passion. Between Apollo’s smoldering good looks, his sickeningly sweet charm, and heartfelt emotions, I fell in love with him quicker than Paige did. And the courage it took Paige to face her “mistakes” showcased her strong characteristics and independence.
But as perfect as they seem to be as a couple, their challenges and setbacks only made it more heartbreaking to read. Stubbornness and reluctance overshadow what both Apollo and Paige clearly already know…that they can’t let the other go. And to read how they’re both willing to give up everything they know for the other person…well, it’s unconditional love.
This book will leave you breathless. The romantic aspects, paired with the scorching-hot desires, weaves a tale of love, passion, and sacrifices. The writing was exceptional, and takes you on a journey with the characters. Adonis in Athens will make you swoon, will make you weep, and will most definitely make you want to take a trip to Greece! A definite 5 star wistful romance!
4 stars
Even though Paige has ties to Las Vegas, this is something completely different than Kat Mizera’s other titles. This was fun and flirty with adventure in the mix. I felt as though I was in Greece falling in love with Apollo, just as Paige was.
Their hardships were mine, just as much as their happiness was.
I had a little trouble with some of Paige’s reservations, that she or Apollo couldn’t come up with simple solutions like her best friend did, on their own.
Overall I enjoyed the book, it was fast paced without being rushed, and detailed but not feeling condescending.
Paige longs for adventure. When her boyfriend of almost 2 years proposes in a very public manner, Paige realizes that they just don’t want the same things in life . . . she is in no way ready to settle down and have 2.5 children and a white picket fence. Oh, and did she mention, she may or may not have married a weekend fling while on Spring Break 3 years ago?
Paige decides that she wants to have fond memories of her fling, and meet in person one last time, rather than simply sending divorce papers through the mail, so she heads to Greece to find the one man that ever made her feel and want for something more.
Apollo Lakkas has been running his family’s shipping company since his father’s stroke. Even though he finds himself working long hours and achieving success, he never forgot the beautiful American he may or may not be married too. When the one thing he never expected happens, he knows he can’t let Paige slip through his fingers again.
Will Paige and Apollo’s off the charts chemistry be enough to keep them together, or will the reality of their lives being on two different continents tear them apart for good? They have 10 days to figure things out before Paige leaves Athens to return home to Las Vegas. Is it possible to truly know a person and fall in love in literally a handful of days? One-click to find out!
I really enjoyed this series starter. It is a perfect summer romance. With the gorgeous backdrop of Greece, it is easy to be swept off your feet by Apollo right along with Paige. Both characters were easy to identify with and very likable and I immediately found myself rooting for them to find a way to make it work. Apollo’s family also adds a great dynamic, especially his grandmother, who ended up being a part of my favorite moments in this book. While this is a light-hearted read, there is enough drama and intensity to keep the reader invested in this couple’s outcome!
5 stars and a wish that I could visit Athens for my own Greek adventure!
“We only have one life to live—why not have as many adventures as possible?”
Paige and Apollo have a magical weekend in Las Vegas; one that proves that love at first sight may just exist. Fast forward 3 years later, and Paige is determined to not settle for boring. She wants one last chance to have an adventure, so she flies to Greece to find Apollo. The chemistry between them has not lessened over time, and as each day passes, Paige falls more and more in love with Apollo, but is she willing to give up her life, family and career in Las Vegas to move to Greece and experience the adventure of a lifetime.
“Adonis in Athens” by Kat Mizera is a fairy tale romance that would make the perfect beach or pool side read! Highly recommend!
A new series by Kat Mizera and it is just the perfect summer read. There are beautiful descriptions of Greece and the wonderful food they eat. It made me hungry reading about it. Apollo and Paige were very cute together and I loved how they fell in love instantly, but also had really real doubts and struggles about what to do next. I really enjoyed it.
