“Gripping. This book is a first-rate thriller.” (NY Times Best-selling author Brenda Novak) “A Terrifyingly Terrific Debut!” (Award-winning Author Loucinda McGary)This psychological suspense follows forensic psychiatrist Kate Myers who believes the killer of two teenage girls in Bigler County, California, is the same man who savagely murdered her twin sister over fifteen years ago. Working with a … years ago. Working with a single-minded tenacity, she sets out to prove it.
Deputy Sheriff Ben Slater hides his personal pain behind the job, but Kate’s arrival in his county knocks his world on its axis and makes him believe in romance again. He wants to believe her wild theory, but the idea of a serial killer with the kind of pathology she proposes is too bizarre.
Together they work to find a killer whose roots began in a small town in Bigler County, but whose violence spread across the nation. A Janus-like killer, more monster than man, he fixates on Kate and wants nothing more than to kill the “purple-eyed girl again.”
As this crime thriller builds to a conclusion, Kate finds herself in grave danger, while Slater uses his forensics skills to discover who the madman is and where he’s taken her.

On edge of my seat. Great book.
This one kept me on the edge of my seat. Good characters, creepy villian, missed my bus stop and had to walk farther because I was engrossed in the book.
Wow what a great read. Loved t
Some good ideas but way to much formulaic with the love affair of romance novel level characters etc which distracted from an interesting plot
Great until it got too romantic.
This book was very disjointed. The author went from character to character, skipping wildly around. At the end, I was still confused. Not worth my time.
This book was great start to finish. I read it on breaks at work in just a few days.
Couldn’t put this book down. Fast read. Good author. Will read more.
If you like murder with a touch of romance and emotional baggage then you will enjoy this book.
Great read. Good characters.
Loved the book I will read more from this auu
This was a frightening, we’ll plotted and very tension-filled book! Not an unexpected ending, but a riveting last chapter. Glad this is a series and that I have the opportunity to watch these characters grow and develope.
Great page turner! Would recommend!
This book was ok. I did read the entire book but was not surprised at any turn. The characters were not well develped except the attraction between the two main characters was way over done.
What makes this thriller stand out from others with similar themes is the nature of the title character, The Watcher; to say more would be a spoiler. It’s literally a race against time for the remote Northern California Sheriff’s Department and the LA forensic psychiatrist (who has an agenda of her own) to assemble all of the puzzle pieces to …
Too much like a soap opera.
This book has well developed characters including the deranged Watcher! It keeps you on your toes, as you become the detective to catch this horrific villain.
Was a quick read.
Love, love, love all the Sookie Stackhouse books and I own them all! If you like the paranormal you definitely have to put these books on your reading list!
This book is a wild ride and a good creepy read!
