Paul Russo’s wife just died. While trying to get his family’s life back in order, Paul is being tormented by a demon who is holding his wife’s spirit hostage on the other side. His fate is intertwined with an old haunted mansion on the north shore of Long Island called Stillwell Manor. Paul must find clues dating back hundreds of years to set his wife’s soul free.
Take a man who is heartbroken after losing his wife to cancer, a haunted mansion, and a few ghosts, mix them all together and you have this wonderful tale. This paranormal mystery keeps you enthralled from the very first page. Great read!!!
Author Cash was a new name to me, but after reading so many of the passionate reviews Stillwell has accrued I decided to give it a go. What a treat this really was. Cash’s writing is very descriptive and it easily conjured up images in my mind as I read. Especially the nightmare and trepidation scenes, very visual. Paul was a very sympathetic character, and I found myself drawn to him early on and also felt real empathy for his struggles.
All in all a really enjoyable book, and I look forward to checking out more book’s from Cash pretty soon.
Stillwell: A Haunting on Long Island by Michael Phillip Cash is an award-winning paranormal thriller that will give you chills as you discover the secrets that haunt Paul Russo. Paul’s wife, Allison, had suffered from brain cancer which slowly drained her life. Now he is picking up the pieces and trying to go forward for his kids. Back to business is listing a mansion of old friends. It appears to be prime real estate until the ghost of his deceased wife and the ghost of the mansion petition his help.
I found Stillwell mesmerizing as the tension quickly forms a shuddering effect of events. Michael Phillip Cash has found his niche among the paranormal, ghost, and supernatural fans. His characters complete their quest, but the journey there was turmoil at best. Though I enjoyed the thrill of the story, I appreciated the author’s solution to handling the death of someone very dear to you.
This is more a haunting of a man, Paul, whose wife has died. Cancer has taken his wife and left him with twins and a younger daughter. His family has surrounded him with love but it is time.
It’s time to go back to work as a realtor and get the kids back in school. All three kids are having trouble adjusting to their loss as is Paul. He needs to sell a mansion but its history of being haunted plus the housing crisis isn’t helping him….and the house has a neglected air and rumors of death from way back. It also doesn’t help that rhe orevious owners met a horrific end….the husband killed his wife and then himself.
Between Paul work so hard to keep his family together and missing his wife, he had to sell a house with a past. And the house does seem “off” and maybe ghostly.
Good plot, love story is quite front and center and each character is well depicted. Not a scary read at all but more about how we place burdens on ourselves. Author ties it all up with a nice ending…..for people wanting a happy ending and a romance with just a bit of mist and apparitions…this is your book. 4 stars for you. For me, 3 .3 stars ….not my kind of read but the author did an admirable job with plot and characters.
This book captures your attention and pulls at your heart from the very beginning. By the end of the prologue you are already attached to its characters. This ghostly love story, that spans both the past and the present, keeps your attention and draws you along with both its poignancy and its creepiness. The battle, heartache and emotions of fighting cancer and loosing the person you love is expertly and concisely written, breaking your heart for the characters and making you even more invested in them. The author weaves a captivating tale that keeps you turning the pages and has a twist at the end that is very unexpected. It is a very beautiful, poignant yet creepy story that I thoroughly enjoyed
