I was a thief. The invisible girl only he could see. The woman who wanted to be more. He was the mark. The extraordinary cowboy who stole my sixteen-year-old heart. The damaged man who still owned it, even four years later. The Line was where we began.Where fates collided. Where truths derailed. The place where our love story ends.
Ohhh boy! This book! This book has ALL THE FEELS! I mean I went through the ringer with these two characters and what a beautiful ending.
We meet Everly at her lowest point. Even though she’s the thief, someone steals something from her. A moment in time will forever be a memory for her.
Years later, Everly is starting a summer job at Preston’s Peach farm. Starting a new job at a new place was a little overwhelming for her. But the moment she sees those eyes she could never forget, everything changes.
We follow as these characters fall in love….we watch characters grow. We watch as heartbreak happens. But we also get our happily ever after. These characters give us so many different emotions that you can’t help but fall in love with them.
Highly recommended.
The Line- sorry, wiping tears away. Amie Knight has reduced me to a puddle again. I’m not sure why I was so eager to get my greedy hands on this book…(that’s a total lie).
Amie Knight surprised me with her debut novel See Through Heart. She floored me, took my heart, and will forever have a piece of it. So when a friend said she signed up for the arc but didn’t remember doing it- I launched my grabby hands in the air and proclaimed it mine. (It seriously was a grade school me, me, me it’s mine moment. I have no shame.) I knew that my heart would get squeezed. I knew that I would probably cry. (I was fighting tears with the dedication. Seriously, I swooned.) But wow!
Never met cowboys like this! The Line, which has an incredibly touching significance, is where you want to be. This touching and sweet story is filled with characters that will claim rights to your heart. They won’t steal them. No they will outright own you!
Whether you see it coming, learned to leave your heart behind, or are completely taken by surprise, this book will make you smile, tear up, and turn to complete mush. I have no doubt you will play memories.
It’s rare to find characters that you want to stay with you- usually it takes several books. But the instant bond I felt with this crew will leave me begging the author for more…(Cody’s story, totally need Cody’s story. And not just because it would be so hot my kindle would explode…)
So take my word as a newly recruited wannabe bad@ss cowgirl, you need to read this book!
This is one of those take a deep breath reads, it left me smiling and giddy. I fell in love with Cole (Cowboy) from the begin. Everly needed a kind soul in one the lowest points in her life, and Cowboy was there, to talk and feed and just be human to her. Four years later and Everly is able to give Cole a smile something to look forward to when he was a low point in his life.
This book keep me happy and Everly has overcome so many obstacles in life but she still has that sass and light all around her. I was so impressed with her character in this book. I can not wait to read other works by this author, she completely captivated me.
This is a 10+++ for me! Cole & Everly (and the family surrounding them) have a sweet, funny story – with some heartache tossed in. Every bit of this story was written beautifully, it sucked me right in from page one, and I din’t want to put it down. When I got to the last few chapters & I had to go into work, I seriously considered being fifteen minutes late to finish (I adulted & finished on my break).
I absolutely, HIGHLY recommend this story! : )
I really enjoyed this book even though I cried through a lot of it. The characters are great, they are deep and intriguing. The story flows really well and you just want to know what happens next. Cole the hero is just so darn perfect and Everly is just so damaged that you wonder how they can fit together so perfectly. Even though Everly is damaged she is still a very strong and resilient woman, she doesn’t need anyone she can make it on her own. Then add in Cody for comic relief and you have the perfect blend to create a great story.
Wow….
I went into reading this book ( having read the blurb but forgetting what it was about, as I read it the day after ) not knowing what to expect I haven’t read many cowboy books; and had previously never read anything by the author.
So I can honestly say whole heartedly…I was blown away. From the moment I started reading to the moment I finished ( there was no stopping ) I literally could not put this book down.
Everly was abandoned and lost, left as a baby. Surviving the best she could until she meets a cowboy on a train. From that moment on her life is changed. I’m not going to say anymore…my words wouldn’t be able to give or do this story justice. Just read it…you won’t regret it.
Such a beautiful, emotion filled, joyous book. I will be watching this author in the future and reading her previous book.
The first book I read by Amie Knight was A STEEL HEART. I was so blown away by her writing, that I couldn’t wait to read her other two books: SEE THROUGH HEART and THE LINE. Neither book disappointed. This is my review of THE LINE.
The 5 month old baby that was found abandoned at the Everly Woods Train Station was sadly named Everly Woods. No one knew who left her or where her family was. She was raised in Foster care. Some fairly good homes and some awful. She found living on the streets was better. Touch was something she was not accustomed to. Up there with love, trust and all the things most people took for granted. She worked “the line” from where she was left. Needed to do what she could to stay alive, in a cold cruel world. It was there she met her cowboy, who stole her young sixteen-year-old heart. He only wanted to help, but she ran.
Cole Briggs was a genuine good person. He had a good heart. He had only wanted to help the scrawny young girl with dirty brown hair, and blue eyes filled with despair. He fed her, and gave her water, and since she would not give him a name, he named her Peaches. But she ran scared of everything, and missing out on all the best things in life.
Everly thought fondly even years later of her hero cowboy, but was sure if he ever thought of her it was far from fondly. She tried to justify what she had done, as just trying to survive. She had just about given up hope when she was found by Momma Lou. Her life was saved, but fate was not done with her and her cowboy.
Wonderful story of a sweet love that survives in a cruel world. And love the writing: “Home isn’t a place. It isn’t a thing. It’s the feeling people give you when you’re with them. That’s home.” I highly recommend this book!
Another page turner from Amie Knight. You can’t help but fall in love with the characters and story line is one of the best I’ve ever read. I’d recommend this book to anyone. You won’t want to put it down!
