A Heartwarming Story
‘Christmas Miracle on Valentine’s Day’ follows ‘Christmas Miracle in July,’ the precursor and prerequisite read before you spend Valentine’s Day in Christmas Town. The first story developed my liking for Jack Bennett, a detective whose deadpan delivery reminds me of Jack Webb in the role of Sergeant Joe Friday, the fictional detective in the ‘Dragnet’ series.
Without giving the homestead away in ‘Christmas Miracle on Valentine’s Day,’ let’s just say that Charlotte Rose has swept Jack completely off of his feet, predisposing him to become so “Un-Jack-like” in behavior. In fact, Jack has big plans which make him uncharacteristically warmhearted, demonstrative, and—downright goofy—which makes this a heartwarming story!
What I especially like about Book 2 is the writing style retained by the author: first person narrative from Jack’s point of view, and a story which reads like a blueprint for a screenplay.
Just as the characters we’ve met in Book 1 become more developed in Book 2, I look forward to finding out more about Christian and Hope in the next sequel.
I highly recommend this relaxing and uplifting read any time of year.
Jack delights with plenty of surprises for Charlotte. Made a wonderful sequel.
I received a copy of this book as a gift. This is my honest review.
The Christmas Miracle Series
The Christmas Miracle Series are a group of short stories concerning a man discovering love and his adaption to the changes that love brings to his life. The stories are interesting and quickly read, although I would have preferred a complete book. On Easter has a cliffhanger ending, but by this book’s release, the reader knows there’s more to the story yet to come. I contacted the author to review her books.
Christmas Miracle In July #1 – An interesting little story set in Christmas Town. I didn’t know what the story was about, but it drew me in and kept me interested until the end. I liked the characters and the reason for the story. This author hasn’t disappointed me with any of her books.
Christmas Miracle On Valentine’s Day #2 – This story continues where In July ended. The story continues with Jack’s acceptance to the changes in his life. The characters grow and the plot is interesting and has a lot of humor in it.
Christmas Miracle On Easter #3 – Oh, no. It’s not exactly a cliffhanger, but it is; there’s more to the story. This story continues where On Valentine’s Day ended. Jack is still growing and accepting all the changes still coming with open arms; even the yucky ones. More of the characters are involved with their lives adding to Jack’s.
Christmas Miracle On Memorial Day #4 – A lovely “ending” to CMOEaster. A beautiful wedding and forgiveness and a sad surprise, but a heartwarming, well-written story told from Jack’s point of view. A nice book to read during a coffee break or a relaxing break.
Christmas Miracle on the Fourth of July #5 – Begins one year after he first arrived in Christmas Town and picks up in July, after the Memorial Day wedding, with preparations for the Fourth. The characters are still interesting, along with the storylines. There may be a bit of intrigue in the future for the P.I. I contacted the author to review her books. 4*
Christmas Miracle on Halloween #6 – The intrigue is now an investigation into a car accident possibly being a murder. Another quickly read, interesting story that follows his discoveries of the seasonal traditions, this time Halloween, and the characters that make Christmas Town special. I contacted the author to review her books. 4*
Christmas Miracle on Thanksgiving #7 – This picks up the week before Thanksgiving and remains a quickly read, interesting story with good, likeable characters. The woes that began at Halloween between him and her reach breakup and he tries to win her back. I contacted the author to review her books. She cleans up some of the previous storylines for her part. I contacted the author to review her books. 4*
Christmas Miracle on Christmas Day #8 – This pickups on Christmas Day. There’s a kink to the day and she gets her tail over her shoulder. All the storylines are finished and so ends the journey of Jack and Charlotte. I contacted the author to review her books. 4*
The Christmas Miracle Series end.
Christmas Miracle on Valentine’s Day is a delightful read. It’s the second book in the Christmas Miracle Series by R. M. Gauthier. What better place than Christmas Town for celebrating EVERY holiday?
We see the story spin out through Jack’s eyes. He’s a tough businessman who had no room in his heart for Christmas, or any other holiday, or so he thought. Read this series to discover what could change him from a steel edged, business only fellow to a man with a heart filled with love.
My mind was filled with the breath-taking stories of yesteryear featuring such leading men as Jimmy Stewart and Rock Hudson.
Open your heart and be swept into this lovely tale about life altering love!
This story provides a lovely diversion from a busy day or week by drawing the reader into the fictional world of Christmas Town, where the spirit of the festive season lingers all year round. Each is short enough to read in one sitting, but long enough to conveniently put down at the end of a chapter and resume reading later.
The main character, Jack, is well developed and quite likeable. The air of mystery that surrounds his arrival in town over summer is intriguing, and definitely hooks the reader into the story. Gauthier plays on the unresolved questions he brings with him, drawing the reader further into the story at the same time as further entangling Jack with every development and surprise in the plot.
Other characters are less thoroughly developed, as is completely normal for short stories. One does sense, though, that there are more stories to be told in Christmas Town, and that Charlotte and Christian may feature prominently in those, too. This reader certainly hopes so!
