War is violent, aggressive, destructive. The same could be said about my mind in the aftermath. Love is affection, tenderness, and warmth. Words that no longer reside within me. She promised to love me forever. I promised her the same. But forever no longer exists, it died alongside any goodness in my soul a long time ago. I’m broken, I’m empty and she’s nothing but a painful reminder of what … a painful reminder of what I’ve lost.
She promised to love me forever and she failed.

Archer by Haley Jenner… wow, just wow. I’ve read one other HJ book before and loved it and this one is no different. It’s absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. How these women can send your heart soaring, throw it in the dirt, then send it through the clouds again, I don’t know, but they do it and do it well.
Archer and Annabelle have know each other almost all their lives but it’s not until he comes back from a tour in Iraq that they see each other as more than just neighbors. Their love is swift and intense… it’s a love that anyone hopes to find. But, after a third tour their relationship shifts. We get to watch as they attempt to navigate these difficult times that most couples never have to deal with.
Archer is a must read for anyone who enjoys romance and absolutely deserves all 5 stars. Thank you Haley Jenner for such a beautiful start to a series.
I literally JUST finished Archer and I’m standing here looking around, thinking “what do I do now?”
While this book started off slow, it was phenomenal. There were definitely some tears spilled, and at one point, I was in my bed crying and sniveling for an HOUR. I love it when an author can do that to me. Yeah, I’m crying and yeah, I’m sad, but I’m FEELING and to me, that’s all that matters. I’m ready to do it again, and I really hope the rest of the books in this series will have me feeling all the range of emotions that I felt with this one.
I’m not really sure what else to say about this book. It started slow. It could use another once over with an editor, as there were lots of commas in places that there didn’t need to be any. The author seems to over describe, as well, and it almost seems like she’s rambling.
But to me, none of that really matters, because like I said, she made me FEEL. I’m glad it ended in a happily ever after, because if it hadn’t, this review would be going in a whole different direction.
