Omg .
This book was just as good as the first.
I love these characters so much and can’t get enough of this series. This book was about Andrew and Amy it was just as intense as the first book and I can’t wait to read the third one. Five stars from me. Izzy Sweet
The Disciples men are at it againit looks like they’re taking a page out of Lucifer’s book. Characters are amazing, as I’m reviewing this book I’m reliving the entire book all over again, you guys are just beyond amazing.
Love this series! These are all page turners that you can NOT put down! I always read these in under a day just because I can’t seem to put these books down. So awesome and steamy and yummy. Original character not just another typical romance novel!
Believable Romance? Not so much for me. But I laughed & giggled a heck of a lot! 3 big silly stars!
I was really excited to read Stealing Amy. I mean who doesn’t love the mafia, a kidnapping, hot alpha male Hero, growly friends, an adorable little girl and a Heroine who loves her baby but has the worst luck with men? Especially alphaholes.
Andrew was all “it’s my way or the highway”. In which case could mean six feet under. He was his most violent when he was calm. And he was calm a lot and at times, well most of the time so over the top alpha, especially the “you’re pregnant with my baby right this very second” issue, calling Amy is wife and Abigail is daughter that I was cracking up at the ridiculousness of it. He was very protective of Amy and Abigail. I did like that. I will say that Andrew and Amy’s inner dialogue was really hilarious.
My two favorite characters were sweet Abigail who seem to own every single character in this book. And growly Johnathan. I really did like him. Little Abigail brought him to his knees pretty much and that I loved.
One of my favorite scenes involved Johnathan and an escape attempt by Amy.
The other two characters, Simon and Lucifer were a bit of a mystery to me. Maybe I needed to read the other book in the series to know and appreciate them. Who knows?
There was no character development between Andrew and Amy. None whatsoever, and barely any background on Andrew until later in the book. How are we supposed to connect with these characters if we know nothing about them and what makes them who they are? For me it was just a lot of you’re mine, that’s it, what I say goes, see you later! Nothing else. Amy didn’t know what she wanted, was fickle, but I suppose her predicament could make her that way. Being scared, hating Andrew ,loving him the next, she went back and for so many times I was getting whiplash. I liked her but I think she could have been so much more. You know giving him a run for his money.
Ivan was completely ridiculous. The only thing believable about Ivan was that he was Russian as well as his name.
Unfortunately I was underwhelmed to say the least as far as romance goes. I love a great insta-love romance. Really I do. However, this story left me scratching and shaking my head. I giggled through it because it was just so dang silly. There’s nothing wrong with silly. I like silly. But it was really no romance at all. There was nothing realistic or believable about this “romance.” I just couldn’t buy into it.
But hey, it’s fiction after all so I suppose anything goes right? I’ll chalk it all up to insta-love mafia fantasy with a side of comedy in place of any real romance. A sort of slap stick comedy with a side of hot sexytime and plenty of violence. Don’t get me wrong, I did like the characters but there really wasn’t much depth to them.
As I said, even though I was underwhelmed I did giggle a lot and it was entertaining in that way. But as far as a realistic romance? There was absolutely no connection to these two characters for me.
Am saying you should not read this book? Absolutely not. This is just my opinion and my take on it. Did I love the book? No. Did I hate the book? Absolutely not. I liked it. It was entertaining. But I just couldn’t take it seriously. So, for those reasons I’ll give Stealing Amy 3 big silly stars.
Stealing Amy by Izzy Sweet and Sean Moriarty is a dark mafia romance. It’s the second book in the Disciples series.
After his wife’s kidnapping, Lucifer had opened a war in Garden City, eliminating all the Yakuza members. The Russians were involved as
well so he sent Andrew to abduct Ivan Romanov, one of the Russian mafia’s biggest financial backers, and his wife. There was a little
problem since with him was his “girlfriend” Amy. In those scary moments that they were keeping her, she was cursing her life for giving
Ivan a chance. By the end of that night she was thankful they hadn’t killed her but she ended up taken by Andrew. He was interested in her
from the very first moment and he was going to keep her as his woman. She tried to figure a way to escape but soon she realized there
was none, plus he slowly was breaking all her walls. Andrew might not have known Amy for a long time but he was ready to kill anyone who
would threaten her and little Abigail.
As the series progresses the plot becomes more interesting and intense, especially the mafia part. All the whispers and the huge unknown
threat gives a new dimension to the story. There are some gruesome scenes that you can skip if you don’t like them. The romance was similar to the first one but much tamer this time. I feel that the characters here connected easily not only because of the chemistry
but also because of the little girl. Abigail was my favorite, I loved how innocent she stayed throughout the whole story. We get to see
Lucifer and his family as well. Lily’s boy became just like him, he’ll be the next in line for the throne for sure. The epilogue was by
far my favorite scene.
I was so hooked from the very first chapter that I finished it in just a couple of hours. It’s totally worth your time if you like this genre.
I can’t wait to see what happens next. I will rate it with 4 stars.
I don’t know if it says something bad about me, but as I was reading it I was realizing it’s been a while since I’ve read a dark romance and loved the change. It felt refreshing. Andrew is 100% pure unabashed alpha dominance make no mistake about that. He sees Amy, she is his, end of story. I do love the power struggle between those two. That it wasn’t her just instantly giving in. And the ending (I won’t spoiler) is so great. The entire scene.
Love love love
I read this book via my ku subscription and am leaving my review voluntarily. This is a reread for me. It is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.
Triggers: murder, violence, kidnapping, torture, OTT/jp alpha
**spoilers**
Amy, single mom gets involved with a Russian mafia guy and is looking for a way out.
Andrew, works for Lucifer (from book 1 Keeping Lily) and is tasked with keeping watch over Amy and Abigail.
I don’t want to give too many details. OTT/jp behavior with a man who knows what and who he wamts and stops at nothing until the h is his. The h tries to resist but with all the sexy time, she comes to realize he does care in his own way for her and her daughter.
Action packed storyline. HEA
Andrew was a key character as Lucifer’s right hand man in Keeping Lily. Being former military, he also learned a few things from Lucifer that the military doesn’t teach. Still Andrew’s job is to serve and protect, until it becomes more. I wanted to be mad at Amy for getting herself into such a mess, but then how was she to know how obsess Ivan would become and how life changing it could be for her? In keeping with the Disciples Series, their story is not for the weak of heart or stomach, but it’s a great story! Andrew = alpha! Swoon!
Andrew!
Somehow this writing duo takes single strong mothers and pairs them up with the most alpha males you could ever meet and then make the stars align and then explode in heat. Reading the quick evolution of each relationship has been fun and bloody in this series so far. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the series holds!
Who needs to sleep? Go on, read the whole thing!
Sexy, dark, violent and possessive, Andrew will steal your soul just like he steals Amy, The story is well developed and the characters maintain their solid paths all the way through. The kids will steal your heart if this story doesn’t do it first. It’s a fantastic read, you won’t want to put it down
Really loved this story. Loved Andrew and Amy and little Abigail. Andrew is the enforcer for Lucifer and Amy just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong guy. Andrew claims her and won’t let her go. She’s safer with him than she is out on the street. The longer they are together, the closer they become and when he saves her life, she admits her feelings for him.
This writer comes up with the most interesting storylines. I recommend reading this series of books.
