Bay Winchester and Landon Michaels are looking forward to a quiet holiday. It seems someone else has other ideas.Hemlock Cove is buzzing with activity – and very little of it has to do with Thanksgiving. The town is christening a new wishing well – dedicated by Mrs. Little herself – and Landon and Bay are eager to attend the unveiling. In truth, Landon is in it for the doughnuts and hot chocolate, … chocolate, but Bay is dedicated to covering the event in the best possible way.
In quick succession, weird things start happening around Hemlock Cove (yes, even weirder than normal). The town tutor is walking around with his own personal harem, there’re rumors that a woman is holding a Star Trek actor in her home a few blocks away and Mrs. Little is now the most popular woman in town. That’s on top of the fact that Bay is convinced she saw a human being flying over Aunt Tillie’s pot field and a pair of elderly Overlook guests can’t stop mauling each other in public places.
Bay figures out what’s going on … and it all comes back to that wishing well. It seems Aunt Tillie wanted to teach Mrs. Little a lesson and it backfired (of course). It’s up to Bay, Landon and the rest of the Winchester family to stop the mayhem before it spreads, and to track down everyone who made a wish and force them to reverse it.
It’s all hands on deck for another crazy adventure. And, along the way, they might just learn something about themselves … that is if they survive the madcap wishes and Mrs. Little’s wrath, of course.

Make a Witch is part of both the Wicked Witches of the Midwest and the WWMwest Fantasy series. A new wishing well and a town full of wishes..OH, OH !!! Hemlock Cove is a small town now promoting itself as a town full of witches. On the down-low, this town really does have a family of witches. The Winchesters. Three cousins, Bay, Thistle and Clove. With their mothers and their great aunt Tillie. Each cousin has a boyfriend, they are not witches, and these relationships develop from one book to the next. This series follows their daily lives-past and present-and the ‘mayhem’ that happens in, around and to Hemlock Cove, MI. Alot of mystic and magic is involved. There’s action, suspense and good time fun. Amanda M. Lee’s SARDONIC wording is masterful. Laugh out loud humor !!! Colorful attitudes and creative disrespect. Each book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone BUT the reader would miss details and the added enjoyment of building a continuing relationship with wonderful characters. The author writes from the perspective of each character at different times. Make a Witch is mostly from Bay and Landon’s. And this kind of sums up where their relationship presently is…Landon to Bay, “You’re my home. Hemlock Cove is just a really weird bonus. It’s a bonus that occasionally causes me to see flying people … and talking bears … and cranky witches. It’s still home .” Hemlock Cove is getting a new wishing well. Enjoy what happens when the wishes are real and there are consequences !!!
My favorite of the fantasy books in the series so far. As with all the books, I love the characters and it’s an overall easy, fun read. Not too far out into the fantasy realm, so even if you’re not a fantasy fan will likely still be enjoyable. My only real complaint is the overuse of the word “deadpanned” and the overuse of the references to Landon’s love of bacon.
Amanda is one of my very favorite authors. Her characters are a hoot, stories are fast paced and entertaining and I always get excited when I see she’s got something new for me to read. I highly recommend her books. I’ve read them ALL. My only complaint is I read them so fast and then have to wait for the next one!
As with all of the Wicked Witches of the Midwest Fantasies, I was spellbound. While I do get bored with repeated cliches, I have decided that the stories are good enough for me to overlook them.
Amanda Lee is one of my favorite paranormal authors and I have read over 10 of her books and will continue to look for more.
Great series of books. Don’t start with this one, they need to be read in order, but you’ll love when you get to this one.
Great way to spend an evening enjoying the antics of the Wicked Witches of the Midwest.
Great read.. Have read the whole series, loved them. Very enjoyable.
Ms. Lee continues to entertain. The development of her characters makes each new book something to look forward to .
Love the series. Can’t wait to read next in set
