What an entertaining historical read. There are interesting characters to follow along as I journey through twists and turns to get to love. Good dialogue among the characters. Love the historical detail. Good read.

A woman widowed too young and now considered a mature woman. A widower still grieving the loss of his wife two years after the fact. One fateful kiss at a masquerade leads to a profound connection. A stolen kiss, many misunderstandings, a lot of groveling and forgiveness leads to true romance.

This is a great regency story about getting a second chance at love. It is a very good portrait of the society lives and the etiquette of the time. I loved it.

Sweet clean historical romance of Lady Grace and Nicholas’ second chance at love. Both widowed at a young age, a chance meeting results in several Misunderstandings but love can not be denied

This PG15 Regency romance involving invalid assumptions and foolish bets takes only an afternoon. I had an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
I really enjoyed this back and forth romance. The characters really had to work for it and overcome misunderstandings.

Enjoyable and entertaining.
Kiss for Charity: heartwarming tale about Lord Nicholas, a widower with a beautiful daughter, he sends to live with his brother and sister-in-law. He misses his wife and feels his daughter will do better with them. 2 years have passed and his brother has ordered him (in a brotherly way) to return and fetch his daughter. Before he does so he agrees to attend a masquerade ball. Not having fun he is about to leave when his friend convinces him to go back inside and TRY to enjoy himself. Upon doing so he sees a beautiful woman he has a dance with and mistakes her for a different type of lady. Lady Grace De Courtenay is a widow (was married to her second cousin Adrian) who lives with her brother Adrian (who inherited the title of Earl from her late husband) and sister Miranda. She is indeed quite respectable and not having any of Lord Nicholas’s nonsense she leaves and doesn’t think twice because he will never know who she is. She later decides to help some young ladies plan and host a Christmas time ball. One of the ladies she assists happens to be Nicholas’s niece. He recognises her of course and apologizes immediately. She forgives and starts to enjoy his company. He has already fallen in love until he hears that Lord Adrian is in attendance. Thinking now that she is flirting with him into an affair he is quite put out. She realizes his error and tries to tell him…being a little thick he doesn’t quite let her finish. It takes some other to bring him to his senses and now he has to change his ways and go on the offense in getting her to once again forgive and marry him. He comes up with an idea: maybe offer to donate money to the cause in exchange for a simple kiss….Will she??
This was a short story that I could not put down once I started reading. Lady Grace de Coutenay and Lord Nicolas Lacey are two lonely souls who are magically brought together in a chance encounter. Grace had lost her husband many years ago and seemed content to live with her brother and help manage her younger sister. Nicolas had tragically lost his wife and could not get past his grief, even sending his daughter to live with his brothers family. Grace and Nicholas literally bumped into each other at a masked event at Vauxhall Gardens that impacted them both. No names were exchanged but neither could forget the other. Fate brings them together again and you need to read to find out what happens! This is a lovely story which makes you feel close to the characters and wanting to help push them together! Sherry Ewing is definitely an author I will continue to read!
