“She will blaze through you like a gypsy wildfire. Igniting your soul and dancing in it’s flames.”
-Nicole Lyons
Selena never thought she would settle. She didn’t want to give in to the things everyone else did and lead a rather mundane, humdrum life. She had plans to travel with her brother and see what life had to offer.
Lawson was her brothers best friend, who, after his passing turned into something more. How could he be with her when she was afraid to settle down and was running from things that frightened her. Well, if she is your soulmate, you run with her.
Lawson knew that Copperfield Lane was where they were meant to be and it was the place that held Lena’s heart. If she were ever to settle, it would be there .
The story picks up six years later in the house Lawson has built for her on Copperfield Lane, but the years haven’t been so kind. It isn’t from a lack of love and passion but time, insecurities, and the lack of communication that has put a toll on their dwindling relationship.
“The flames are burning within us but the hold we have on eachother is going up in smoke.” -J L long
Will the fire ignite that spark in them again or will their love smolder in the ashes ?
Copperfield Lane will lead you down a bumpy road of emotions. One second everything is going well and smooth sailing and the next difficulties arise in their relationship and there is another obstacle in their way.
Copperfield Lane is an emotional read that is raw and real, with it’s fair share of drama that will have you rooting for Law and Lena.
J L Long has a knack for writing relatable characters you can’t help but get invested in. The chemistry between Lawson and Selena is practically tangible and their story truly defines love conquers all.
Can they get past their own insecurities and instead of retreating into themselves, learn how to confide in eachother again?
“Communication is the fuel that keeps the fire of your relationship burning, without it your relationship goes cold.” – William Paisley
Heart stopping and jaw dropping, Copperfield Lane will have you on the edge of your seat and leave you wanting more .. because it ends in a cliffhanger!
I devoured this book and literally couldn’t put it down until it was finished! . Now that it’s done I will be starting book two, “Rewrite our ending” to see if Law and Lena managed to work through what ails them and see if true love prevails.
An amazing read. Kept me on the edge of my seat and could not put it down until I finished! Great story with lots of twists and turns and good romance!! Can’t wait to read more!!!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
First of all…I’m so in love with this cover it’s not even funny. Just had to say that. Now onto the book. If you read With Love At Christmas: An Anthology then you were introduced to Selena and Lawson and got the pleasure of learning about their history together (note: You do not have to read their story in the anthology to read Copperfield Lane…it’s just a bonus if you do). He was her older brother’s best friend and then her brother died. Suddenly she was no longer just his best friend’s little sister. He recognized that he had feelings for her, but she lived like a gypsy…always on the go and never settling down. How do you fix that? How do you make someone who’s afraid of settling down stop and be with you? You go with her. Now we come to Copperfield Lane and Selena and Lawson have settled down and have been married for six years. They have a daughter. Everything should be great. Right? I love how this book is so different from other romance books. In this book, you already have the love story. It’s already happened and now you have the couple trying to keep it together. Trying to keep their marriage from falling apart and to me, that’s so realistic. I think every couple can relate to this book somehow. It’s real life. Their relationship has the real issues any actual couple has…is he happy, is she happy, is he still attracted to me, does she still love me, and so on and so forth. Then JL Long throws in a twist that some marriages experience because everyone knows when you are happy, sometimes things happen to try and destroy that because misery loves company. I absolutely will not spoil it…but I cannot wait for book two, so JL Long had better be writing!!!
