Soccer mom Yvette Palmer lives an ordinary life in San Antonio, Texas when a box is delivered to her by mistake, and in taking it to its rightful owner—a crotchety neighbor named Mona who shares her back fence—is drawn into a strange and haunting tale.
Mona’s ratty robe, mood swings, and secretive behavior all raise red flags, and Yvette is sure someone else is living there despite Mona’s claim … Mona’s claim to live alone, but Yvette is unable to break away as she listens to how Mona transformed from a young college woman about to be married to the odd, reclusive, ghost of a woman she is now.
As Yvette listens to her neighbor’s tale, she discovers a shocking connection, but doesn’t know whether Mona’s come to help or to harm her and her family.

Slow starting into very involved story line. Deep into the minds of struggling twisted women, and a god awful terriorizing sociopath of the all by the end. Shows the minds of women to a level you rarely see. While not blatantly male bashing it edges nearby.
Poorly written, Poorly edited. Stupid premise. Do not recommend.
This book is totally original, could not put it down. Gripping story line, unexpected twists and turns. A MUST read!!
Twisted, characters kept the reader guessing what would happen next
Wow. This book should be a movie. I’m not sure why all the bad reviews, I enjoyed it and couldn’t put it down. Did it contain every horror you could imagine? Probably. Is it really “out there” probably. But the suspense and intrigue in the story was page-turning and had me riveted. Im normally a pretty big grammar snob, but didn’t notice …
A bit disjointed, but the story was fascinating.
I enjoyed it a lot. Quick read but kept me interested.
Definitely an original premise. The only thing I didn’t like was the tidy ending. It seemed to wrap up in one big smile when the rest of the book didn’t have that feel at all.
she writes wonderful books they are addictive keep them coming
Very suspenseful couldn’t put the book down
I loved this book and the unexpected twists and turns.
Didn’t think it would be good but kept reading and wasn’t disappointed. The ending was not predictable!
This book kept me in suspense from page one, I didn’t want to put it down until I finished it. The plot is so original, more of a mystery but so easy to get engaged with all the characters. I will look for further books from this author!
I really didn’t know who were the “good” guys and appreciated the perspective gained by the worn out housewife & mother by the end. Great read.
Hmmm, what can I say? First off this is not my type of book, so I don’t know if this a fair review. It was just plain weird. It did have parts that captured my attention, but then there several parts that I skimmed and I don’t really know what those parts had to do with the story. They seemed pointless. I didn’t really like any other the …
Started out so well, but the actions of the characters were hard to believe. By the time (spoiler alert) the family went on the run, I’d had enough of chasing crazy town, and decided housework was more riveting.
Keeps you guessing
This is one of the first two books I have read on a Tablet. I was surprised at how into this book I got! It is the kind of book that I can imagine happening ‘down the street’ in a neighborhood. Action packed, crazy, warped, loving, and just plain good! So glad I took the time to read this book and I hope everyone else who reads it enjoys it as …
