Love. Honor. Protect. As an Environmental Studies major, Allie knows the planet is in trouble—a series of natural disasters recently rocked the northern hemisphere, and species across the globe are going extinct. What Allie doesn’t know is that her world’s decline is a result of an ancient battle called the Night War—the Norse goddess Nott’s crusade to control the weakest of the light realms. … weakest of the light realms. And Allie most definitely doesn’t know that her existence is the only thing stopping Nott from dragging the earth into total darkness.
When four gorgeous guys show up claiming to be Allie’s Asgardian protectors, she thinks they’re delusional. And when they order her to hunt down the pieces of an immortal weapon, she’s convinced they’re insane. But when Allie’s attacked, the guys’ crazy stories of demigods and dark elves begin coming together. And Allie’s not sure what scares her more—losing her life to the Goddess of Night . . . or losing her heart to one of her protectors.
Let the hunt begin.

Protector (Night War Saga #1)
Allie is an orphan that’s attending college on a scholarship. She’s always been able to see ‘auras’ but she also feels the energy too! It can indicate if people are genuine, violent etc to her, so she uses it help keep herself safe but it also drains her, their energies push on her constantly. She goes into their small skiing town with her roommate, & she’s captivated by a light energy. It turns out to be necklace in an antique store that she feels she has to have!!
The necklace was a beacon that called her four protectors to her. They try to convince she’s a Demigod from Asgard, and that she needs to go on a quest to find pieces of a weapon to kill an evil Goddess! Allie thinks they’re all hot as hell but completely nuts. Well that’s until Tore takes her on a journey which brings her to her Mum who’s in a sleeping curse & has been since she was a one year old!! She’s filled with rage & heartache, she wants to save Midgard (Earth) and her Mum!
This was a really good read. it’s jam packed with training & action. I loved the word build & pace. Allie is full of the best snark. Brodie & Johann, though hot, are like a pair of immature frat boys. Mack is like the big brother she never had. Tore is like a super tall & muscley bad boy that she melts over! They are all extremely protective of Allie & are determined that she succeeds! I really liked seeing all of the norse words written, it was so fascinating seeing what we’ve become used to hearing from films. I can’t wait to start book #2

Fun, easy read…
I waited to write my review until I finished the series, meaning Allie and Tore’s story. I have no idea if there will be a spin off on any of the other supporting characters. That being said, I found the entire series to be an overall enjoyable read. The premise is one that we all can related to, Allie finds that there is more to her than just being your typically college freshman and her life is about to change irrevocably. The reader should definitely keep in mind that the genre the series falls into is that of: Teens, Children’s Books, Fairy Tales and Folk Tales of Norse Mythology. This is a very YA read, so I become frustrated when I see negative reviews that state the main character is immature. Duh… she’s eighteen and just beginning to understand who she is and where she comes from. So give a girl a break. Not wanting to give away too much, but Allie does come into her own and is surrounded by her protectors and allies she meets along the way who help her fumble through the monumental task that has been laid squarely on her shoulders by the Norns, who are like oracles that can foretell one’s destiny.
So to break it down, here are my likes: I found Allie to be snarky and I enjoyed a lot of the banter among her and her protectors, the story telling was very well written, and once invested in the series there were times that I genuinely felt bad and became teary eyed during certain scenes as they played out.
Overall, for me, the read was a bit predictable and long before the end of the series I had already figured out how most things were going to play out. That being said there was one plot twist that I did not see coming that I applaud, and that definitely had me wanting more. Obviously, this this in no way hindered me from finishing the series with a very satisfying ending.
Amazing Norse mythology read!!
Protector by Leia Stone and S.T Bende is the first in the Night War saga.
Allie is a great character, smart and I love her strength and determination. Her 4 protectors are loads of funny. Lots of action mixed in as Allie tries to fulfill her destiny to end a war and save her mom.
Looking forward to more!!
Protector is book one in the Night War Saga that is co-authored by Leia Stone & S.T Bende.

This is a good start to what promises to be another epic series. If you love Norse Mythology, Sexy Gods, evil villains, romance, action, loyalty, adventure and friendship then I recommend reading this book. I had a little trouble at the beginning getting into this book, with the foreign language popping up, the constant description of the energy centres being mentioned. But once you get to about 30% it just flows. I enjoyed watching Allie grow into her destiny, she seemed to mature quiet quickly. The guys damn, they are all yummy. Tore is a hit from the beginning, he’s alpha dominance is a lure, while the soft tenderness of Mack balances it out and the comedic personalities of Johann and Bodie make the guys are formidable group. One thing I did not like was the constant jump in time, I understand so much is going on and a repetition of daily events would be boring, but it would have been great to see the bond growing in the early days of them training together.
Allie is a college student with a normal life, well except she can see people’s energies. She thought all she had to worry about was studying, homework, hanging out with her roommate, and making sure to never tell anyone about her ability. After coming across a necklaces that gave off strong and beautiful energy, things start to change. Allie meets four hot guys who claim to be her protectors and that she’s an Asgardian demigod and she’s the daughter of the Goddess of Healing. Who’s not dead but currently in a deep sleep caused by Nott, the Evil Night Goddess who wants to destroy Milgard/Earth. Allie is the only one who could help wake her Mother and save Milgard/Earth from being destroyed, using her weapon that’s lost and scattered across eight realms. With the help from the four Protectors, Allie must learn to control her powers, fight and find the pieces to put Gud Morder back together.
Thank you for this series. Dawn xoxo (hehe!)
Protector is a fantastic start to an action packed journey of gods, myths and the Apocalypse. Once you meet Ally and her protectors you’ll be sucked into the fight, fully invested the the Night War, and tearing through the pages.
