Undercover cop at a male review strip club? Yes, please. Thankfully Karen Rock made it happen in her latest suspense Dangerous Moves, the first in her Dallas after dark series. I fell in love with this book from the start. Rock got into Blake’s head fast and once she did that I was hooked. Reece is his perfect match. I would have liked them to start trusting each other sooner…my biggest love of romantic suspense is that it gets the hero and heroine to work together faster. When Rock finally brought them together she did it right. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
This is the first book of Karen Rock’s new Dallas After Dark series. Detective Blake Knight has followed in his father’s footsteps & joined the police force. To have a chance at a promotion he is assigned to work undercover, to bust a steroid ring. He has to work undercover at Dallas After Dark, working with the club owner’s daughter.
Reese Landon has always dreamed of owning her own dance studio, not taking over her father’s club. She has discovered some shady business practices and due to past experiences doesn’t trust the police. She tries to keep Blake at a distance, especially because he is certain her father is guilty of running steroids in the club.
It was an enjoyable book, trying to figure out who the head of the steroids drug cartel was & who was involved with the selling of the drugs.
Interesting story line. At times fun to read because of the plot line
I loved this story by Karen Rock! It is the first book in her Dallas After Dark series and so far I’m loving it!
In this romantic suspense Detective Blake Knight has to go undercover as a male stripper in an elite male strip club to find and bust a steroid ring, but the one complication he doesn’t expect is his new boss Reese Landon.
Reese hasn’t been back to Dallas since that night so many years ago that shattered her innocence and trust in her father, but when her father is shot and goes into a coma she decides she will do everything that she can to protect him including keeping the police at a distance.
I’m looking forward to reading more of the books in this great series!
I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
This was a new author to me and after reading a blurb about this book in a takeover this author was at, I decided to buy the book. I am SO glad I did.
Blake and Reece meet under very weird circumstances. It was fun watching them get to know each other, both having trust issues but yet battling the attraction they both had. I really enjoyed the tryout scene that Blake had to preform and also the dance lessons when Reece tried to teach Blake to strip and then he turned the tables.
This book wasn’t just about a strip club, it has suspense, mystery and who done it sort of feel. Blake is an undercover agent so seeing and reading about the types of jobs he has to take to find out information was fun to read.
Detective Blake Knight is up for promotion to his fathers old unit, but only if he solves this next case while playing strictly by the rules. He is used to working undercover and becoming all sorts of people but this job will uncover who he really is.
Reese Landon has come back to Dallas because her dad has been shot. She is hoping for a reconciliation with him. She will protect the business he loves, while he can’t.
The business comes with the perks of lots of eye candy, but also has something shady going on.
This is a sexy romantic suspense with lots of laughs, danger and wonderful characters. The bad guys are everywhere. Nobody knows who to trust. The story will draw you in from the first page and give you all the entertainment you could wish for. I think I want Reese’s job. L. O. L.
