She’s the daughter or rock stars she knows the life, and she has secrets.
Wolf is a pretty great guy and I loved Lyric cliffhanger ending left me stunned.
My heart was endangered by K.K.Allen’s wonderful story. She warmed me that it would be different now than her previous books. Nevertheless I found everything in it what I like and I was reading it with totally compassion.
Lyric is an independent beautiful woman. I really like her because the music means a lot to me as well.

Yes, I am on a K.K. Allen kick & loving every minute of it! Oh, this book. I devoured it in one night. I couldn’t put Dangerous Hearts down. K.K. Allen’s novels have that effect on you. Once you open up your reading device, read the first sentence, you’re instantly immersed in the story.
Dangerous Hearts is a rocker romance. It’s something different from K.K. Allen. I loved that she stepped out of her comfort zone and wrote a different type of romance. It’s still filled with angst, sexual tension, and sarcastic banter that Ms. Allen can write exceptionally well. She did a stellar job writing about a rock star and his band, life on the road, his tour manager, and all the various venues. I was quite impressed given this is a new direction she went with her writing. Ms. Allen nailed it and I fell in love with Wolf and Lyric’s story.
This is book one of a duet. I’m so happy I just finished reading this, Destined Hearts, Book 2 was recently released! Fair warning, Dangerous Hearts does leave off on a cliffhanger—luckily, I have Destined Hearts ready and waiting for me on my Kindle! Now that the duet is complete, I would highly recommend grabbing both books.
If K.K. Allen is a new to you author, I would suggest starting with her debut novel, Up In The Tree House. Her novels are spectacular, she truly is an incredibly talented writer.
First book I’ve read by this author and I really enjoyed it! Solid characters and a good back story. Gives you a peak inside the rocker lifestyle and life on the road. Excellent writing and smokin’ hot chemistry between Wolf and Lyric. Can’t wait to read book 2!
I had never read any of K.K. Allen’s books. So I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into when I started Dangerous Hearts. And now, I’m completely obsessed with the story and I can’t wait to read the second book of the series. It’s the perfect romance, one of those books you can’t simply put down because you need to know what happens next.
Lyric Cassidy has known the music business all her life. The daughter of an 80’s rock star and pop singer, she loves music too much to stay away from the stage and the rock scene. She has made a name for herself a a successful road manager, a role that allows her to be connected to music without being in the spotlight.
Running from away from his ex-rocker boyfriend and with broken heart, Lyric jumps back into road as the road manager of Wolf Chapman. She is convinced work will help her heal and focus. After all, Wolf is the lead singer for the hottest rock back in the country. He is not looking for a relationship (never has) and only does one night stands.
But destiny is a powerful thing.
“Dangerous Hearts” is the first book of the Stolen Melody Duet by author K.K. Allen. I’ve always wanted to read this author because I’ve read a lot of great things about her, and this is why I requested an ARC copy of this book that will be published soon.
Dangerous Hearts is a contemporary NA romance about two different yet similar people who casually met when they are teenagers, and then their paths cross again when they are older and are exploring their careers. Lyric Cassidy is the daughter of a famous musician, and she’s a road manager for singers and bands. She has a past with rock stars, and when she’s given the job to take care of a hot singer’s tour, she wants to decline but then decides to do it anyway. The lead singer of the band Wolf, “Beowulf” Chapman, is your super hot rockstar who sleeps around with groupies and certainly, the type of man Lyric wants to stay away from. Yet, there’s something that makes the two click with each other, and they can’t explain why.
I found Lyric quite interesting. We still don’t know much about her secrets and why she doesn’t want the world to know about some of her talents. She is a strong girl but she is also vulnerable when it comes to her job and Wolf. She would love to have both, but she knows that it’s rather impossible with all the competition and glares she gets because she’s a female road manager. I loved how she stood up for herself all the time, proving that she can take care of herself. I didn’t agree much with some of her choices, but there’s a second book so we’ll see how she deals with that. Wolf is a mysterious man, the kind of character I crave in books. He has a soft heart, and like many playboys like him, he doesn’t give into love and relationships easily. I still find him unsure about the whole situation, so I hope that in the second book he will realize some things.
The book was told in the POVs of both characters. I liked how the story unfolded and how their inner thoughts were normal, as in, when they were thinking about each other sexually, for example, they didn’t have mental outbursts like “omg I’m so hard” or other annoying crap some writers put in their character’s heads. The writing flew very well and you couldn’t help but reading more. I would have read this book in one sitting if I didn’t have so much to do in real life, lol. I would surely read the second book, which comes out in July, called “Destined Hearts”. I’m interested a lot in Wolf and Lyric’s story and how it all plays out in the end, especially after the cliffhanger we were left with in this book. I hate when a book ends with a cliffy, but I also like that we have another book with more of this story and more adventures for our main characters.
If you enjoy rock stars romances with a bit of banter, sex, and an intriguing story, then you should surely read this book. Can’t wait for “Destined Hearts”!
