A murder without a body. A murderer without a memory. A night without answers. January 16, 1999: a magical night for a group of high school seniors in Panama City, Florida. They listened to Maya Angelou read poetry. They danced. They celebrated life. By the time they noticed their friend Angel Diaz was missing, it was too late — she was never seen again. Her boyfriend, convicted of her murder, … convicted of her murder, has sat in prison for 18 years. Their friends have never looked at each other the same way; each sure one of the others killed Angel.
Detective John Jordan, mired in his own crises, is asked to solve the mystery of what happened that night. Can he uncover the truth that has remained hidden for so long? Can he retrace the steps in a closed case and get to the bottom of a Blood Betrayal?

John Jordan, as a prison chaplain and a detective (criminal investigator), is an interesting character and all of these murders he becomes involved in are good reads full of action.
Excellent!
Fascinating. True to life about Prison Life. Very talented young man from a talented area. His first book was one of the Best I have ever read.
I really enjoyed reading it!
Excellent book
A little too much reference to characters from previous books in the series – confusing if you haven’t read them. Also, a little too much detail re false confessions, convicted innocents, etc.
As a huge fan of the John Jordan novels, I was very disappointed in this one–lack of editing, confusing storyline, missing background, ho-hum characters. Not anything as great as past novels in this series.
It was okay, but not intriguing enough to suit me.
Good read.
I love this whole series and Blood Betrayal is another great example of the author’s incredible style. I can totally get into a character who is an off-the-wall prison chaplain and an amazing detective. I can’t believe that, after all of his cases solved, that he is still treated like dirt. Oh well.
I listened to a pod-cast recently that was eerily like Blood Betrayal. I keep wondering if the information provided will sway my thoughts on the true story I listened to….yes I know this is fiction but Michael Lister might offer some insight that I missed. Still reading 🙂 and I am thankful for such writers.
Never saw that coming! Good story right to the end!
I felt that there were too many characters and that the author assumed that I knew who these people were.
One of his best Ive read so far!
Very entertaining read.
While I thought it was a bit slow at times it still kept me interested enough to learn the outcome, which I had not expected!
This is one of the best series every. Can not wait to read after #6!
