In the seventh book of the Talon Pack series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan, a Healer is forced to come to grips with the idea that he can’t save everyone…including the woman he loves.Walker Brentwood vowed to the moon goddess that he’d protect his Pack and Heal with every last ounce of his power. He’s watched his siblings and cousin battle the worst circumstances to find love and is … circumstances to find love and is now afraid that the one woman who could be his might not have much time left. The rules of mating have changed, and Walker will do what he has to in order to protect the bonds that have eluded him for so long.
Aimee Reagan knows there’s something wrong with her. She’s known since the first time she found out shifters were real and magic existed. When the Talon Pack’s enemy sets his sights on her, her battle to survive becomes even harder.
Walker and Aimee must turn to each other when the powers around them change and the paths that had been laid before them are no longer clear. But when their passion threatens a curse far older than anyone dreamed, they’ll only have one chance to save something worth more than a mating bond. Their future.

Aimee is sick but the doctors can’t find anything wrong with her. All she knows is she is tired and can’t seem to get better. When she passes out at work, she ends up in Walker’s clinic on pack lands. He is determined to figure out what’s wrong with her and fix it. Not only for Dawn, his sister-in-law, but also for him.
Walker has felt this pull toward Aimee since she passed out while passing through wards the first time. Now he’s wondering if she could possibly be his mate, but first he has to figure out what’s killing her.
In spite of knowing she was cursed the answers weren’t coming quick enough and Audrey, the beta of the Aspen pack risks everything to save Aimie for Walker.
This is an intense book, with many emotional and tearful moments as well as romantic and sizzling ones. There’s a lot happening and much to figure out as we work our way to the end of this wonderful series.
Book seven in the ongoing Talon Pack saga focuses on Walker, the pack healer, and Aimee, a human. Walker knows what he wants from life, but because of the problems with the pack mate bonds, he isn’t sure how to recognize it if he finds it. Aimee, on the other hand, doesn’t think she will be around long enough to have what she wants from life.
Despite everything that is going on, Walker still has that “glass half full” mentality. He seems to feel like if he just keeps working, researching, moving, things are going to work out and they will find the answers they are looking for. He does not seem to ever have any doubts that he will find the answers to the pack mate bonds, he will find a way to make Aimee better, he will be able to keep his pack mates and family alive. His strength of character in the face of massive adversity speaks volumes about the type of person that he is.
Aimee has dealt with her own types of adversity. It seems that no matter how hard she works, life just keeps her down. Now, her health is failing her and none of the doctors can figure out why.
As always, the author has given us a story full of love and family, while also throwing in enough action and bad guys to keep us enthralled. It was definitely a well written story, with intriguing characters, and secrets aplenty. I never knew what was coming next, and I can’t wait to see what the author has up her sleeve next!
Although each book in the series focuses on a new couple, there is an underlying story arc that continues from book to book. Each story can be read alone, but there are things that probably won’t make sense, unless you have already read the other stories in the series. Each book ends in a HEA for the main characters, but leaves enough open questions to transition smoothly into the next book. I recommend reading all of the books in the series, as well as the Redwood pack books, in order to get the full effect of the ongoing story line.
Ding Dong the witch is dead… or is she? Omg Carrie Ann Ryan how you tease us so. So many questions are being answered with more questions hiding behind the next corner… but lord how I love it! Walker in all his searching The Goddess made him realize there so much more to what they are and what they’re about to become, but at what cost?
Eternal Mourning may have described the Talon pack for the last thirty years. But even though there are still battles to be fought there are also good things happening. Walker the healer has always been the smart one, the sensitive one, he just can’t be sure Aimee is his mate. Aimee a human knows about shifters and through her friend Dawn knows more than most, but not about he mating pull. Aimee also has her own battle with her health. She may not be around to be anyone’s mate.
This tale is so hopeful. Aimee and Walker have angst but they are also true romantics. This mythology with the moon goddess is intriguing and suck you into this “world”. The Brentwood family is so close knit, encouraging, and protective, I just love these stories. At the end I always have a smile.
I am a big fan of Carrie Ann Ryan’s paranormal work as well as her contemporary stories. Eternal Mourning is part of her Talon Pack series. First of all I love the title of this book. There was just a beauty and sadness to it.
I loved how Walker and Aimee’s story was told and that it really differed from the other books in the series in my opinion. Walker is the pack Healer and Aimee was introduced to the pack through her friend Dawn, a newly mated member. There was just something so beautiful about this story that really got to me. This story adds more twists and turns to the Talon pack and how they are ever changing in a world where the rules are not black and white. It’s the shades of grey that make you gasp and want to know more. The hard part will be waiting for the next book in the series. I’ve read this story twice already!
This one was one I was looking forward too because of Walker. You can not get enouogh of her shifters with the drama continuing. Walker notices Aimee big time with also something being off. He soon will find out what with her opening the door to the snooping of the what. When things begin to pop quickly they take action quickly thanks to good on their side. The trust that grew in here was nice to see. You also where given more answers on what the bad guys had in store. There is also a delightful thing that comes out of Walker and Aimee for the pack. Make that several good things. I can only add that these two will tear at the heart strings and also have you desiring what they have.
ARC – I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are hones
Walker has been waiting for his mate for a long while.
But now that he found her, how can he save her ?
Aimee knows that there is something wrong w/ her.
She has been gettng sicker + sicker for a while.
But that is not the only danger circling the Brentwoods
Enemies are just waiting for the right opportunity to attacked.
It looks like the found the weakest link, or is she ?
Walker will do anything to try to cure his mate.
Will he find the cure on time?
Will the enemy suceed in harming the pack ?
This was another great addition to the series.
I loved the storytelling + the characters
5 ETERNAL MOURNING STARS!! Another Fabulous Story in this series. I don’t read a lot of shifter and magic books, but when I pick up a Carrie Ann Ryan book I know I will get a great story. Walker and Aimee’s story was perfect and I could not put it down. This is one book and series you will want to read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I loved Walker and Aimee’s story. Aimee is a human who knows something is wrong with her but every doctor she has been to has found nothing wrong. She knows she is dying and there is nothing that can be done. Walker as a healer wants to fix her but he also feels a draw to her. As the mating bonds have been changed he isn’t sure she is his mate. This problem with the bonds is also something he wants to fix. Aimee has an episode while at work and comes to spend more time with the pack. As her and Walker spend more time together, they both feel a pool towards the other. I don’t want to have any spoilers so I will end this with I love this pack and the storyline that is forming. I cannot wait for the last two books in this series. Great story telling and great new twist to the Talon Pack. If you like shifters or if you have read the previous books in the series you will enjoy this book.
Eternal Mourning is Walker and Aimee’s story. I feel like I’ve waited so long for Walker’s turn at getting his ever after. We finally find out what had been plaguing Aimee too! Can Walker and Aimee’s love plow through the forces working against them? Must read to get the juicy (and I do mean super YUMMY) details!
I loved this book. It was awesome start to finish. Got to say Scarlett sure lived up to her name. Walker is a healer but can he heal the most important person in his life….. Such a well written, action filled story.
I loved Walker and Amies amazing beautiful loving forbidden exciting emotion amazing love story.Couldnt put this down.Had me on the edge.Cant not wait till the next book.
Love the Talon Pack. Aimee and Walker are perfect together. In this story the mating bonds are screwed up and Walker is searching ways to fix them. He should have known the moon goddess would have it in hand and he just had to wait for the right time. Aimee and Walker mating fixes more than just Aimee’s curse. This story tugs at heart strings but you leaves you feeling warm and hopeful for the future of the pack. Look forward to reading Dhani and Kameron’s story.
Loved it, Walker deserved a woman who would love him with her whole heart and he finally found her. The problems that they have keep you on the edge of your seat. The love they find will be perfect if they survive to be together forever. Don’t miss this great story.
