Readers often think of Job sitting on the ash heap, his life in shambles. But how did he get there? What was Job’s life like before tragedy struck? What did he think as his world came crashing down around him? And what was life like after God restored his wealth, health, and family?Through painstaking research and a writer’s creative mind, Mesu Andrews weaves an emotional and stirring account of … account of this well-known story told through the eyes of the women who loved him. An engaging read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book!! It truly brought the story of job alive. It was so believable and so well written that I felt I was right there witnessing the occurrences . The characters were strong, realistic individuals who truly lived what they believed as truth. As in all family dynamics love as well as hurt were present. And forgiveness …
I thoroughly enjoyed Andrew’s take of Job’s story from the Bible. It has been a while since I’ve read the book of Job, and this novel definitely sparked an interest in re-reading it again. I suppose I had never really and truly thought about the misfortunes that he had to go through and how easy and how justified he would feel to turn his back on …
An interesting fictional portrayal of Biblical characters including Job and Jacob’s daughter, Rachel, as well as others.
Very interesting this take on the life of Job and Dinah. ..enjoyed it very much. .
A great read.
I loved reading this book it’s really thought provoking
The author stayed very close to the Bible but did embellish some

We read sketches of biblical stories in the Bible, but with our immense lack of knowledge in the customs and lifestyles of the characters it is challenging to fully appreciate the pain and sacrifices a person of those times had to endure. And how little …
I loved this authors take on the life of Job. The Bible leaves so many detail out so it was fun to imagine what his thoughts may have been
I first read this in a digital copy and liked it so much that I bought a hard copy to share with my friends and family.
great read. loved how the author wove her own ideas with the facts…lots of research evident.
I appreciate the research that goes into these to make them so true to life and yet accurate with the biblical account as well as entertaining. Who would have thought that the story about Job would be so interesting.
The Biblical story of Job and how he suffered at the hand of Satan’s testing. It followed the Biblical account accurately, but characters were added, names, and embellished the make the story more entertaining. Good read!
A wonderful historical fiction novel of Job. Poignant and, while not perfectly true to the Bible, plausible. Well defined characters and a plot that moves at a great pace.
New twist to Job story. Intetesting description of life at that time. Intriguing
