This marriage is strictly business . . . until the temptation gets way too real. Corbin: I loved my grandma, but I don’t need her money. All I care about is keeping the house—the only place that’s ever felt like home. That, and screwing over my dad, who wants to turn the property into a mall. There’s only one catch: To receive my inheritance, I have to get married within six months. Me, the guy … within six months. Me, the guy who’s never dated a girl for more than six minutes. Now I need to find a woman I can trust. So when I’m rear-ended by a Prius, I figure it’s a sign that I’m supposed to meet gorgeous, down-to-earth Teagan Monroe.
Teagan: First I lose my job. Then I come home and find out—in the most graphic way possible . . . yeah, that way—that my boyfriend is a cheating jerk. And then I speed off and nearly kill Portland’s sexiest bachelor. Corbin Lane should be pissed. Instead, he offers me more money than I’ve ever seen in my life to marry him and live together in a mansion for two years. No sex. No feelings. Just cash—enough to make all my dreams come true. Then we go and break all our rules . . . and I realize I’m falling in love with my fake fiancé.

Teagan is having the worse day of her life. First, she is laid off from her job at the library. Next she comes home early to find her boyfriend of seven years banging some blonde bimbo. She then leaves with all of her possessions in her Prius and rear ends a very expensive car. Corbin’s day isn’t going that well either. He just buried his beloved grandmother and found out at the reading of her will, that to get her house and land, he must get married in six months, and stay married for two years. Then he is rear ended by a Prius. Since Teagan is gorgeous, single, homeless and unemployed, of course they have to enter into a business arrangement to get married. The set up is a bit contrive, Teagan is a bit too perfect (she wants to run an equine therapy farm for kids, for gosh sakes), and the love was a little too quick for my say (about a week). This was an okay read, not great.
Wow! What a great story! I loved the characters, this story of Teagan and Corbin was sweet, hot and their connection was realistic. I really connected to Teagan and Corbin really could sweep a girl off their feet. The story was fast paced but well written! This is my first book by this author but it will not be my last! If you want a lovely fairy tale type romance, this is it! Well done!
Charming and incredibly diverting, Fake Wife is the epitome of a heartfelt and romantic love story!
After reading Filthy Player, I was instantly intrigued with the author. So reading Fake Wife was a no-brainer. The author takes the story of the prototypical fake relationship and makes it 100% her own. Apart from the steamy and erotic aspects, the book exudes a gamut of emotions within it’s pages. From heartbreak to happiness, sorrow to success, loneliness to love, each scene is marked with impassioned writing by the author.
The characters’ chemistry is influential throughout the story, and brings a captivating and intense magnetism until the very end. The circumstances each character endures makes the story that much stronger, proving that simply loving someone might not be enough for a happily ever after.
Great love stories have one thing in common: the author’s exquisite ability at storytelling. Fake Wife transforms from a simple love story to one that enraptures readers with it’s emotion, conviction, and vitality. Beautifully penned, this book is an insta-must read, and one you won’t be able to put down.
5 Stars!
OK, if you’ve read my review of 28 Dates then you know that I started with book three in this Crazy Love series. So naturally, after I turned the last page of that book I went immediately to this one. Borderline OCD and all that jazz…. Obviously, you can read each of these as a standalone. Having read 28 Dates I knew some of the outcomes of Fake Wife, but it didn’t take away anything from this book. I mean, this is in the romance genre, we all know they’ll end up together. We just don’t have all the deets.
So, to say that Corbin is shocked by Eleanor’s will is an understatement. To say that Teagan has had a crappy day is even more of an understatement. When their worlds collide (Yep, that word is intentional, you’ll get it after you finish the first couple chapters.) the whirlwind begins. It’s a fun whirlwind to get caught up in!
Teagan thinks she’s having a rough day when she gets home after being fired and finds her boyfriend in bed with someone that isn’t her but it only gets worse when he gets into a car accident with Corbin Lane. YIKES! But hey, Corbin’s day isn’t going any better so maybe they can help one another.
While their relationship starts off as a fake one their chemistry is very real. I enjoyed this read not only were Teagan and Corbin both likable but so were the secondary characters. I would recommend this book to any on that enjoys the fake romance trope. I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Pippa Jayne and John Lane, they did a wonderful job with bringing Teagan and Corbin’s story to life.
Happy Reading!!!
I had previously read Knocked Up by Stacey Lynn, and when I saw that there was a previous book in the series, I went back to read Fake Wife. I’m not one that normally goes for the fake marriage/marriage of convenience trope, but I found that I did quite like Fake Wife.
Teagan is having an awful day. She loses her job, she finds her boyfriend cheating on her, and then she rear-ends a rich guy. But said rich guy- Corbin- is captivated by her enough to offer her a proposition- be his fake wife for two years, and in exchange, she will receive a large sum of money. Tempting, to say the least.
I liked both Teagan and Corbin. There was definite chemistry between them. The writing was good, as well. Fake Wife is a book that I will read again!
Fake Wife is a quick, fun and slow burn read that keep a smile on your face and your eyes glued to your kindle. Plus, don’t we all enjoy a fake relationship where they eventually fall for each other? I know I do.
Teagan, bless her heart, is having an absolute miserable day that only tops off when she rear-ends Corbin, a well known business and ladies man. She expects to trade insurance information and move on but what she gets instead is a proposal of a lifetime. One that take up two years of her life but she will ultimately benefit from it. She agrees to this fake marriage and thus begins the “business only” part of the relationship. Both Teagan and Corbin continue to tell themselves that they will keep it strictly business but it’s clear how dynamic their chemistry is and it’s inevitable that they will cross the line.
I think what I like the most about this book is both Teagan and Corbin end up following their dreams. Well, and the fact that Corbin is just delicious when he talks. Watching his struggle with his feelings for Teagan and how much he wanted her was seriously fun.
“You want respect? The way you look in the fucking dress tonight is making me think this agreement is a very bad idea. Trust me, Teagan, I’m thinking anything other than cordial though right now and you’re testing my control.”
If you are looking for some good laughs and a slow burn, fake to true love romance, then this is the book for you!
How have not read this book yet? It has been sitting on my Kindle for awhile now and tonight I opened up the book and did not do anything except read it to the end! Stacey Lynn has captured my heart with her previous stories, and Fake Wife seals the deal.
Why is this book a raving 5 stars for me? Because I can not get Teagan and Corbin out of my head! Poor Reagan having to deal with so much shit for one day, and runs into Corbin. He is like a tornado and will have your life turned upside down in 2.5 seconds! Okay well that is how long he had me spelled bound…what can I say? I am a sucker for over confident alpha males. Any who, I came into this book thinking it was the typical “Fake Wife” trope and boy did Stacey prove me wrong! I wanted to knock out Teagan’s ex teeth with his sorry lame ass excuses. I wanted to knock Corbin over the head a couple of time when he was over reacting. I wanted to tell Teagan there is truth to love at first sight!
Fake Wife had me on the edge a few times. The sexy scenes were hot and intense. I was blushing like a bride when it was all said and done <---- See what I did there lol. I love Stacey's books because she puts the "real" in her stories. I am so glad I got to read another great novel by this author that I will think about for days to come!!
Fake Wife by Stacey Lynn is a sweet and sexy contemporary romance. Poor Teagan has had a rough day. She has lost her job and found out in very graphic detail that the man she has given her own dreams up for has been cheating on her. The icing on the cake is when she is in a fender bender with none other than Corbin Lane, the richest playboy in Portland.
Corbin hasn’t had a great day either. His family just buried his beloved grandmother. In her will, she stipulated that in order for him to inherit her house and land, which has always held a special place in his heart, he must marry someone in six months. Not only that, but the land will truly be his when he has been married for two years. With his arrogant father waiting in the wings to take the house and land and destroy it, Corbin makes up his mind that he will indeed become a married man, leaving his playboy ways behind him. He just needs to find the right woman, and as fate would have it, she may have just rear-ended him.
There was nothing I didn’t love about this book. It’s like a fairytale for adults! Corbin was a knight in shining armor rescuing Teagan, giving her a place to stay and the money to help her realize her dreams of developing equine therapy for children. What is ironic is that Teagan may be just the one who rescues Corbin, showing him what real love feels like. She also really sees the real man, not the man on celebrity gossip pages. She accepts the man who wants nothing to do with his family’s business. He wants to build furniture and live a simple life in the house that holds such special memories.
Of course, as in fairytales, obstacles have to be overcome for Corbin and Teagan to move from their business relationship to one of love. They will have to learn important lessons in trust. Both have had people they love betray them. If you love a magical romance sprinkled with a bit of angst and some steam, I highly recommend reading this one!!!!!
The morning that Corbin and Teagan met, he learns that he has to get married in order to get his grandmother’s house and she finds her boyfriend of more than 7 years with someone else and she got laid off from her job. Fate intervened to make sure that these two people who desperately needed one another, albeit for different reasons, would meet. Corbin needs a wife; Teagan needs a place to stay and money.
I’m not usually a fan of insta-love stories but this one was perfect. Corbin and Teagan make sense and thankfully both of their lives fell apart so they could meet. I wasn’t even expecting them to love each so completely so quickly. I loved everything about this books and all of the characters that were introduced. I can’t wait to see what comes next for this series.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.
When can you rear end a wealthy man and end up his wife? Well – fake wife. I enjoyed reading this new book by Stacey Lynn. Stirling and Teagan are great characters I think you will enjoy their story.
So he has to marry in order to keep all that’s sacred to him. Wham! How about his future wife crashes right into him…quite literally. That he would offer her enough security financially plus a place to live for a couple of years to fulfill the contract is like a fairy tale come true.
Neither know one another. His world is not hers. So to say Teagan is a breath of fresh air is an understatement. Though the one thing neither of them count on is falling for the other. That can’t happen if it’s all fake…right?
This story read very quickly for me. I pretty much “inhaled” this book. Their banter and relationship is definitely one everyone would hope to have in real life.
When you think the day from hell can’t get any worse and it does, then what’s a girl to do? Roll with the punches, or get the hell out of Dodge?
That’s the question facing Teagan Monroe on the day, she not only loses her job to restructuring, but she discovers her boyfriend of seven years has been cheating on her. With nothing to show for her years of dedication to her now wasted relationship, Teagan takes off and is driving aimlessly when a car pulls out in front of her and she crashes into the back of it.
She gets the answer to her question and it’s a big fat YES. Yes, it can. Or so she thinks, until she sees who climbs out of the fancy car she’s pranged.
Corbin Lane, hasn’t been having the best day of his life either. His beloved grandmother has died and during the reading of her will, he finds out she’s left him with a huge problem and feeling like the weight of the world is on his shoulders. He’s ready to kick some butt when someone crashes into the back of his Mercedes, at least until he sets eyes on the culprit.
One look in Teagan’s frightened eyes and all he can see is the answer to his prayers, all he has to do is convince this strangers to go along with his crazy, hair-brained idea. What was the plan?
Marry him and become his fake wife for two years so that he can inherit his grandmother’s house. Corbin in’t your usual run-of-the-mill CEO billionaire. His father has the reins to Lane Holdings and Corbin is meant to take over when his dad retires, but it’s not what Corbin wants.
He’s been forced to live by his dad’s rules, long enough, even though they don’t get along. Now, he has a way of evading him permanently.
The chemistry between Corbin and Teagan is powerfully portrayed, each feels the pull but both are leery of it to begin with. Especially Teagan. She’s sting bruised over her previous relationship. But the more time she spend with Corbin, the harder it is to fight her feelings.
This was a true insta-love/ lust story, but it didn’t suffer for it. The story was captivating, the characters engaging and the sex scenes well played with plenty of heat. But, just as things are looking up, someone comes along and throws a spanner in the works.
Will it all end in tears, or can Corbin make Teagan his for real, instead of her being a Fake Wife.
When Corbin loses his beloved grandmother he is crushed, she was always the one bright spot in his life, the one person who didn’t have a long list of expectations for him, and the one person who made him feel truly loved. His parents are another story, while he knows his mother loves him, he also knows that she will always side with his philandering father, and it has always caused a rift between them. Especially now, his father knows that with Corbin’s grandmother’s passing that their homestead is up for grabs, and he’d love nothing more than to get his grubby hands on it, and turn it into the next hot property, whereas Corbin plans to keep it just the way it is now. And the only way he can do that is to find a wife, and ensure the property stays with him… problem is all the women he knows would gladly be his wife, for a hefty price. Then he literally crashes into an angel and all bets are off…
To say that Teagan’s life is hell right now, is a complete understatement, first she loses her job, then comes home to find her fiance doing the deed with a busty blonde, and then she loses her home when she walks away from their seven year relationship. It’s as if life is completely against her right now, then fate steps in and hands her a “get out of hell free card”, and puts her face to face with the Adonis she has been swooning over since she first arrived to town. Corbin is beyond gorgeous, and he makes her a offer that she can’t really refuse right now… and as soon as she says “yes” to his offer the sparks start flying and her once crappy life starts looking better than ever!
Fake Wife is a gem of a story, within the pages of this sweet and sexy read you will find many moments that will put a smile on your face and a blush upon your cheeks!! Seriously you can’t go wrong with a hunky billionaire, who falls for a plain Jane damsel in distress… the moment Corbin swooped in and saved the day my heart started to melt. Watching these two fight so hard not to fall for one another was quite entertaining, there was lots of feisty banter that had the heat rising, and lots of unexpected tender moments that had me swooning, I loved every moment of their little journey! I highly recommend you get your hands on this one, Ms. Lynn’s well crafted characters are sure to have you falling in love right along with them!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.
4.5 star Review Fake Wife By Stacey Lynn
A new author to me and I have no idea why.
When Teagan accidentally crashes her car into Corbin Lane’s it’s the straw that breaks the camels back. Losing her job, finding out her boyfriend of 7 years is cheating on her and then the car crash, can this day get any worse?
When Corbin whisks Teagan away to lunch and to talk, she initially cannot believe what he is offering.
Having just found out about the terms of his grandmothers will, to claim his inheritance and the house and land, the only place he has ever been happy, he must find a wife within 6 months. Corbin is in desperate need of a temporary wife, one who will be by his side for the next 2 years.
Should Teagan accept his outrageous proposition, or run as far and as fast as possible?
Although not a particularly long read, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Corbin could have been a character that I disliked, however Ms. Lynn gave him so many layers that I found it impossible not to fall for him. His love for his recently deceased grandmother brought tears to my eyes.
Will fear, miss communication and lust cloud their judgment or will they jump headlong into a steamy affair?
The fact that they could help each others dreams become reality was a big part of the story and was truly heart warming.
I loved Corbin and Teagan separately and together and would love to see their story continue.
This will not be the last book I read from Stacey Lynn.

You think YOU’VE had a bad day? Here’s Teagan’s day: Lost her job…Check. Found her boyfriend of 7 years cheating… check. Rear-end one Portland’s sexiest (and wealthy) bachelors…Check. Right there is every reason you need to keep reading to find out if Teagan’s day can get any worse.
In a mix of a Cinderella-like story, Corbin needs a wife to satisfy a stipulation to inherit his late grandmother’s home and, after Teagan comes crashing into his life (literally), he thinks his solution will fix both his and her dilemmas. A simple agreement: no emotions, no sex, just 2 years and cash…how simple can this be? Solves both problems, right?
Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Nothing is ever that simple and following Corbin and Teagan’s story is both heartwarming and, at times, heartbreaking. Can these two make it through the ups and downs of the drama that unfolds? This is an enjoyable story of two people who are trying to come to terms with their own personal issues, the issues of those who surround them, and their feelings for each other. This story will draw you in and keep you entertained!
Tegan Monroe is having the day from hell, lost her job, caught her boyfriend of seven years cheating on her and now the final straw is to rear end rich playboy Corbin Lane, could this day get any crazier!! She is about to find out just how crazy her life has become when Corbin who is also having a bad day offers her a way out of her troubles, become his Fake Wife for two years…. what starts of as a contract turns into so much more but Corbin knows nothing about love and romance and Tegan has been burnt once will she ever trust again. I love Tegan and Corbin and I loved their story but it is very much a story about instant love so if that’s not your thing maybe this isn’t the book for you. Once again this author has given me a book that captivated and consumed me, it was read in one sitting.
Great read. Both with baggage that was imposed by others their pain so close to the edge, holding them back stopping them from believing anyone would love them for who they are. They see each other like no one else from the first time they saw each other. They had dreams and together, if they can get past the outside interference they may make those dreams come true, together.’
Love this author’s style. I am so glad I had a chance to read and review this book since this is the first time I have had the pleasure. Great characters you can connect with, filled with emotions and fun.
What a great read. This book was a sweet romance that tugs at your heart . Teagan is having a bad day. First she gets laid off, then she arrives home to find her boyfriend banging some blond, she then leaves him becoming homeless and to top it all off she just rear ended a rich guys fancy car. What more could happen?
Corbin Lane is having a bad day. His grandmother has passed away and his dad is trying to take his grandmother’s place in the Bluffs from him to tear down and build a shopping mall. When his grandmother’s will is read he gets her place in the Bluffs under one condition he must fall in love and marry within 6 months. So when the beautiful woman rear ends him he gets an idea. Can he convince this angel to marry him?
This is a classic tale of a poor girl falling for the rich knight in shining armor. The story is about following your own dreams and never giving up, for when it is meant to be it will be. Never believe what’s on the surface because deep down the truth shall set you free.
The characters are very lovable. They are sweet and caring. You can’t help but love them. I would love to see a spin-off using Corbin’s best friends Caitlin and Trey.
The story really flows just perfectly. It has some twists and misunderstandings. It keeps things interesting. I highly suggest this book for all you romantics at heart.
