Love Beyond the Wall by Amelia Wilson was a great shifter romance book. The characters were well developed and I felt for the struggles both Cara & Darian had to experience. It was nice to see Cara transform from this obedient quiet girl into the strong alpha female she was destined to be. Darian was a nice take on the alpha male of a pack. He seemed very genuine in his compassion to care for his pack and keep them safe. I felt for the struggles he had to endure with his spirit wolf to not take Cara right there and instead gain her trust. He really had a good heart and that allowed for the reader to fall in love with him. Of course a good book also needs a villain you just can’t help but hate. Aldrich is a manipulating son of a gun that tried to rule everyone in the town’s lives. The twist with his connection to the shifter pack was unexpected but nicely done as to connect all of them together.
What really impressed me was Wilson’s ability to make Cara’s character stick to what a virgin should really be like. Cara was nervous and scared because she didn’t know what to expect with sex. She was prepared to handle a lot of pain that came with her first time. I can’t tell you how many romance books I have gotten mad at when they take the “virgin” girl and make her first time doing ridiculous sexual stuff. Thank you Amelia Wilson for sticking to what her character really should act like.
The whole storyline was written really good and had me unwilling to put my kindle down. This one definitely was a page-turner that sucked me into finishing it in one night! And that Plot twist at the end I did not see coming!! Although it wasn’t in my mind how the story would end I was still happy. The whole world built in this book was a unique idea I really enjoyed. I would love to read more about other members of the Rizer pack. Hopefully we’ll get to read Killian’s story next!
An addictive read that kept me up too late, this series is well written and hard to put down. The characters will have you pulling for them as they struggle to free themselves from their oppressive existence. Yes, there are many places where the author could have benefited from a better editor, but those gaffes did not degrade too much from my enjoyment of the literary journey. I couldn’t stop reading it once I started, so for a whole day, I was glued to my kindle, waiting for the happy endings. I highly recommend this series!
This was a quick shifter read. I liked the overall idea and the fast paced romance aspect. I was sad that the story ended at 20% of the book. I wish that had been in the blurb so I was prepared. I liked the determination that Cara had. She wasn’t weak and made the perfect match for Darian, the alpha of the pack. Overall I felt unfulfilled. I wanted more. I would be willing to read 3 stars #2OCC Reviews
I absolutely loved this book. I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the series. Cara finds herself running for her life to escape the fate of becoming the wife to the one man everyone fears in her village. But, with a change of fate she finds herself among the Rizer pack and with raised to believe shifters are mindless beasts can she let her fear go. Will she become the next alpha female or will her old life prevent her from moving on with a good man.
