Tess, an aspiring seamstress, thinks she’s had an incredibly lucky break when she is hired by famous designer Lady Lucile Duff Gordon to be her personal maid on theTitanic. Once on board, Tess catches the eye of two men—a kind sailor and an enigmatic Chicago businessman—who offer differing views of what lies ahead for her in America. But on the fourth night, disaster strikes, and amidst the … the chaos, Tess is one of the last people allowed on a lifeboat.
The survivors are rescued and taken to New York, but when rumors begin to circulate about the choices they made, Tess is forced to confront a serious question. Did Lady Duff Gordon save herself at the expense of others? Torn between loyalty to Lucile and her growing suspicion that the media’s charges might be true, Tess must decide whether to stay quiet and keep her fiery mentor’s good will or face what might be true and forever change her future.

Very well written, interesting mixing fact/ fiction. Good characters
This was a wonderful book. Characters were well written. Hard to put down. You will love this book.
The story of the aftermath of the sinking of the unsinkable Titanic told through the voice of a young lady on a voyage of self discovery. Tess is a skilled seamstress looking for a place where she can develop her talent in the New World and by a twist of what seems like good fortune she is hired on the spot by the Lady Lucile Duff-Gordon the …
The author’s note at the end says it is based on real events and that some of the characters (the Duff Gordons) were real. I knew a little of the Titanic’s story prior to this, but still felt that it was fairly predictable — no surprises.
It was a little inspirational and uplifting throughout. I liked it.

Could not put down
Interesting tale about the ill fated Titanic. Kept me interested throughout. Couldn’t put it down.
The first half of the book kept me turning the pages, but the ending was….meh.
Daniel Silva and the Gabriel Allon character are like old friends. Can’t wait to read more..
Excellentbook
Caught my attention from the first page. I was hooked.
Gives great insight into Hemingway as a man with his shortcomings and larger than life personality, as well as many other historical figures of the day.
I found this book very entertaining. The characters are very interesting. It’s the choices we make that can affects our entire life. I also learned a great deal about Titanic disasters.
Sorry, have not read this book. I have read other books in this series. Would like to read this one.
