Such an amazing piece of work. By far one of my new favorite series. I had such a hard time putting this down. Easy to relate to the characters and wonderfully written. Definitely recommending this book to all my reader groups on Facebook!
This is a well written imaginative story. The characters are well developed and true to life, imperfections and all. My heart went out to the king and his sorrow. I loved the banter between the brothers and their cousin. I felt for Sage and the torture she had to endure. There were a lot of surprises throughout this story and especially the surprise ending. Of course it makes me want (no need) to read on toward the second book. There are still a lot of unanswered questions I hope will be delt with in the next book or two. I highly recommend reading this book if you are looking for a few hours of pleasurable entertainment.
Overall rating: 4.7 (ku)
The blurb is spot on, the cover is stunning, and right from page one, this storyline grabbed my attention. These characters provide a very intriguing tale, leaving me still wondering what fate lies ahead for Sage. I truly enjoyed the appearance of Marq into this tale and hope he continues to play a role in future books. A wonderful book one of a series which fulfilled its purpose in keeping a reader wanting more! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
I am new to Frost Kay as an author and I will say that this is some of the greatest writing I have encountered in a very long time. Not only was the Aermian world building absolutely believable and made me feel like I was walking through the streets and inside the castle walls… but the characters she created were so complicated and layered, I felt like I was meeting real life people. Truly a captivating piece of literature. P.S. Every book following is equally if not greater in success.
What a start!
Have to admit the beginning was a bit slow. But it picked up and pulled me right into book two
Sage, Tehl, Sam, and many other characters come to life, Frost truly spins a great great story.
The Aermian Feuds is an addictive new series by talented author Kay Frost. It begins in Book 1, Rebel’s Blade, with the threat of war from the neighboring country of Scythia and a civil war from within Aermia. There is suspense with deep betrayal, plenty of secrets, and subtle romance. Sage is a rebel who will do whatever it takes to save her beloved country of Aermia. Captured by the Crown Prince and later tortured, she must face her demons and learn to trust those she was taught to hate.
Rebel’s Blade is one of the best young adult female protagonist novels that I’ve read. The characters are deep, the adventure intense, and the story is moving. Even the ending is perfectly fitting. I definitely want to know what happens next! This series is best suited for ages 16 and up.
I received an ARC of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Best book series I’ve read all year!! I’m obsessed!
I read all three! Sage is a feisty lady, I look forward to reading them all again!
I loved reading Rebels Blade! Frost Kay gave me such an amazing world, full of extraordinary characters to escape into! The world-building & character descriptions were such that I felt that I was there with them & I could see the colors & hear the sea pounding against the shore & smell the salt water air! The plot was fantastic and I was rooting for Sage and Tehl! They both want the same thing, to better the lives of the Aermian people. They’re just both so stubborn!! I can’t wait to read Crown’s Shield and see what’s in store for them next!!
Rebel’s Blade was amazing! Hands down! It’s a dark medieval fantasy with a side of fairytale romance!! I loved it! Sage was getting down and dirty kicking some butt! I’m so ready for book 2!
