Ian Pierce is the chef and part owner of the hottest restaurant in Cincinnati, his chosen family is full of happy relationships, and the scruffy, snarky cop who has been haunting his dreams is one step closer to being in his bed. But everything comes crashing down when the past he narrowly escaped nine years ago comes to a deadly head.Hollis Banner was enamored of Ian at first sight. He’s kept … He’s kept his distance, knowing the gorgeous, self-confident man is out of his league. Yet there’s no standing aside when Boris Jagger escapes a raid. Jagger’s world has been nearly destroyed and this time, the crime boss is coming after Ian and his friends personally.
Hollis will do whatever it takes to keep Ian safe as they escape to a safe house with a couple of Ian’s overprotective friends. And Ian finds himself in a race to unlock painful memories—memories containing information that could take down the very last of Jagger’s illegal operations forever.

Hot. Hot. Mucho caliente.
Devour: Unbreakable Bonds Series Book 4 starts with police officer Hollis Banner in the home of Boris Jagger awaiting a drug bust. In the previous novel of the series, Hollis gets caught skulking around Ian Pierce’s home by Sven who was assigned as Ian’s personal bodyguard. Hollis admits to being assigned to do undercover work trying to locate children in Boris Jagger’s human trafficking scheme. Knowing Jagger has targeted the Unbreakable Bonds crew, Hollis checks in on Ian after The Warehouse club is set on fire. Things heat up between Ian and Hollis (there’s delightful kissing and groping) that carry over to the current novel. The drug bust occurs at Jagger’s home but he manages to escape and only one child is saved by police. Barely dodging previous charges, the present criminal behavior has Boris on the run. He’s angry at the entire world and determined to take out Ian Pierce who might remember where the children set for auction are being kept. For their combined safety Ian and Hollis bunk with Rowe and Noah where more of the psychoemotional damage Jagger has caused Ian is revealed. Hollis Banner proves to be the man Ian needs by accepting him and valuing his courage and accomplishments. But Hollis is not without his wounds, having had a friend disappear many years ago, he dedicated his life’s work to finding lost children when he lived in Georgia. After suffering burnout, he decided to follow a boyfriend to the area only for the boyfriend to find satisfaction with other partners. Ian promises that their relationship would be exclusive and feels fortunate for having the protection and love from Hollis Banner. Once again, the writers get the relationship between the principal characters well established and integrate the ‘outsider’ into the inner circle that is the found family of Rowe, Lucas, and Snow. Hollis’s dedication to Ian wins him an in. By the end of the novel, Hollis is left with finding other work because of his unsanctioned involvement in taking down Boris Jagger. The novel checks off all the awesome boxes: awesome world-building, incredible character development, and a smartly balanced, well-paced narrative.
I just knew I would love Ian and Hollis, and I was not wrong. This book was sooo good. Of course it picks up right where Torch left off, so we know that Jagger is after them and they are just trying to stay safe while figuring out how to get Jagger. Hollis is everything I wanted for Ian and more, as he was head over heels for him, and was not afraid to show that affection around Ian’s very protective family. Also, Hollis fit so well with them. Yep, they are my favorite. I cannot wait to continue with this series.
Great series.
This series just gets better and better. You do have to read in order. Devour is the 4th book and takes up where Torch ended.
This is also Ian and Hollis’s story. I adore Ian and he is like the glue in all four books. There is a lot of action, some twists and lots of sexiness!
Kenneth Obi brings this great story to life with his voices. Lucas’ voice is so sexy it makes you Shiver (pun intended) Rowe has a tough guy Boston or Jersey type accent and Hollis has a southern, Georgia accent. You can discern all men just buy the voices. Kenneth also acts out the emotion, like sighing, chuckling and OH The bad guys chuckle makes my skin crawl! He makes it more than listening to a book being read to you but listening to a play or movie.
Sweet Ian finally got his book- and it was well worth the wait! I love how Hollis and Ian’s story has built slowly throughout the series. Hearing what these men went through to find their way to each other, seeing how Hollis made his place in this family and – happily- seeing Lucas and Andrei story continue to build – made this book one of my favorites of the series.
Ian has not be a favorite for me in the other books, and unfortunately it was the same here.
But there was no doubt I have to read it, because I was so crazy about Hollis.
Although I did not like Ian very much, it was still a pretty good book, the road to their HEA was beautiful, even though it was a brutal one at times.
Oh, and you will not hear any complaints for me, that we got so much POV from Lucas, that only made the book so much better for me
Jocelynn Drake and Rinda Elliott rocked this series. Devour is the final full length novel in the Unbreakable Bonds series and I have enjoyed the series from beginning to end.
This is Ian and Hollis’ story, and what an epic conclusion!
This series has it all;
action and suspense
heartbreak and sorrow
second chances and forgiveness
fun and laughter
exploration and acceptance
and finally, love and family bonds that rule and influence each and every decision these men make.
I was so drawn in to their personalities and each of their stories that I couldn’t help but want to be part of their inner circle, their family, not a family by blood, but by choice. I was in awe of their loyalty and dedication to each other and how they accepted and welcomed each other’s love match.
This series, I can’t say enough good things about it, it was a truly delightful journey and I highly recommend you get to know these men.
This is the last in the series of Lucas. I enjoyed all four books plus going through their own each individual books with their significant others.
