Non-stop action help to define this paranormal, sci-fi, romantic adventure. Descriptions were palpable, with the use of intense color to convey emotions. Surprisingly, despite very little time spent together, the author manages to demonstrate the connection between Leana and Mikhail in a way that is visceral yet spiritual.
POV and verb tense were an interesting choice. The story was told mostly in present tense, which was unusual and a little disorienting. Foreshadowing was not subtle. POV switched between 1st person Leana and 3rd person Mikhail. Initially, this was disorienting as well, but my brain quickly acclimated to it.
This book would have benefited from a more thorough editing prior to publication. Missing words, extra words, and at times, confusing lack of verb tense agreement pulled me out of the story, but the worst was when “Mikhail” was replaced with “Daniel,” a major oversight. Despite this, I enjoyed the book and I plan to read more in the series. I recommend it.
Evil versus good. Angels, vampires and shifters fighting for power. Who will win? But love takes a stand also. Good storyline, good reading. I received a complimentary copy of this book for voluntary review consideration.
I have been provided with a copy of Redemption by the author for an impartial review. I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick and easy read. In this book you get to see more of Leana and you get to see how she and Mikhail come together. It was really fun to see.
This fifth book is a continuation of Leanna’s story. After a heart-shattering event she goes off on her own to lead a reclusive life but then she meets Mikhail, who unknown to all including him, is a rare kind of species. As a fellow recluse, Mikhail also prefers to avoid others and yet he cannot deny the attraction brewing between him and Leanna. They both try to fight the pull between them but little do they know of the powerful connection that awaits them. We also get to meet new personalities, which enrich the wonderful variety of species in the Many Lives universe. This book adds interesting characters to the colorful universe Laxmi created of shifters, vampires, and immortals.
IT’S GETTING HOT IN HERE!!!
Fast paced, action packed, easy to follow read. With so much electrifying chemistry, steamy and hot scenes that you will feel the burn. This read oulls you in and keeps your focus on the pages afaid you might miss something. With twists and turns that keep you on your toes. What an awesome job Laxmi.
Redemption book 2 in the Many Lives series. There is also a prequel that is also a must read. Laxmi Hariharan does a superb job of writing this story through the eyes of the main characters, Leana nd Mikhail. The storyline is standalone for each book but it also continues from one book to the next. There is plenty of suspense and action that keeps the reader engaged for the next book.
This book is the first in the authors Ascendants Series, but it crosses over from her Many Lives Series. We have a female shifter, Leana, who begins the story as a cage fighter to help keep an orphanage running, Entering into this scene is an immortal, Mikhail, from unknown origins, who is strongly drawn to her. Without giving away too much, as I don’t do spoilers, lets just say these two have a relationship that does not always run smoothly. She will be controlled by no one and he wants only her. In this world, that has been changed through the act of one woman and her sword, we have shifters, immortals, vampires and humans. A world filled with pain and one in which these two must not only accept what they are, but their feelings for each other, if they are to save it. It is a story filled with emotion and unpredictable twists and turns. As always the authors gives us a powerful story, filled with strong characters in a society so changed it takes courage and exceptional love to win a life worth living. I recommend this book to lovers of the paranormal, filled with the unexpected and love worth fighting for.
