BOOK ONE IN THE WHITE LIES DUET There are those moments in life that are provocative in their very existences, that embed in our minds forever, and sometimes our very souls. They change us, mold us, maybe even save us. But some are darker, dangerous. If we allow them to, they control us. Seduce us. Quite possibly even destroy us. The moment I walked into Sonoma’s Reid Winter Winery and Vineyard … Winery and Vineyard and made eye contact with Faith Winter for the first time was one of those moments. Provocative because I know at least one of her secrets, of which, I suspect she has many. Provocative because she believes I was a stranger to her when we met, but I am not. Provocative because I sought her out, with no intention of touching her. But now I have. Now I want her. Now I have to have her. But that changes nothing. It doesn’t change why I came for her.
Book two: Shameless is available now!

Sweet jeezuz….. I forgot how much LRJ’s writing hooks you in, knocks you sideways and then leaves you tied up in knots wondering what’s gonna happen next!!!
Provocative is an excellent read. Nick is totally an alpha male but so far we haven’t seen the depths of his control, we’ve just had hints to his likes and proclavities…..
Faith is a contradiction. She blushes easily and is uncomfortable when receiving compliments but is open and forthright when it comes to sex and anything related.
Both have serious secrets that could end whatever this thing that they’re starting is – most of Nick’s we have discovered already but Faith’s are still all hidden in the main!
Packed with mystery, intrigue, suspense, a sh*t load of sexual attraction, heat & passion and more secrets than you could shake a stick at, Provocative had me constantly trying to work out what the hell was going on, speculating what we have yet to discover and hoping that the Tiger and his Faith can work through the secrets and lies and find a life together neither of them think they want!!
I cannot wait until July when we finally get the answers we need in Shameless, the second part of the White Lies duet.
Oh Em Gee! This was so good, it was wicked good! Full of sexy, intense, betrayal, lies, murder?, and lots of twists and turns and enough to keep us guessing at what is really happening. Faith Winter is struggling to keep her winery from going under when in walks Nick Rogers, AKA Tiger, with an agenda of his own. Is he her savior or a devil in disguise? Now the hard part is having to wait for the conclusion in part 2!
Looking forward to the next book to see what happens between Faith and Nick. We know what Nick is hiding, but the question is what is Faith hiding.
You just can’t go wrong when you pick up a book by Lisa Renee Jones.
This author does romantic suspense well and this is no exception. Great read.
Sexy. Mysterious. Exciting. Can’t wait to read Book 2.
I totally lost track of my day once I read the first chapter of Dirty Headlines. Celian, one of Shen’s most disagreeable alphas to date, remains true to form until that one soulmate walks away from him and his messy life. Relationships aren’t what they seem and anyone can change their mind on a dime. Shen’s characters won’t let you rest until you read the last word of the book.
Very well written. Ms. Jones creates wonderful characters with depth, passion and mystery. I love both the H & h and the perimeter characters too. Cant wait to read more.
4.5 stars
I hate this book! I hate this book! I hate this author! Wait, this is the White Lies Duet so of course I have to throw in some of my own. But we all know the best lies include truth…
I hate this book…because I have so many freaking questions. Unanswered questions that continue to pile up. Every time I think I have an answer BAM! More questions.
I hate this book… because it’s book one of a duet. Translation- still no answers and now I have to freaking wait!
I hate this author…because every time I read one of her books I get sucked in. I’m forced into a world where I have to think and analyze but never seem to get anywhere.
Clearly, hate isn’t the right word but love might not be either…
What’s it called when the person pushes you and holds and supports you…Hmm. Should we ask Faith? Or maybe Tiger?
What’s it called when you can’t get enough, when their absence makes you mourn, when their presence is like a drug, when they consume your every thought? Not sure? Well neither are Faith or Tiger.
What we do know is eventually all their secrets will come to light and then trouble will have a new name. I can’t wait to see the results. Of all the chess moves, all the tests, but most of all the emotional mess these two have unwittingly become involved in.

Oh my this book has you on the edge trying to figure out who is telling lies and who is telling the truth. This book is amazing.
Faith Winters is an artist by heart and a winery owner from her father’s wishes. She loves to paint. With both her parents gone, she has issues going on with the winery that brought her back home. Nick Rogers comes into her life when she least expected it and has turn her life around. She is wanting to paint again and has the joy of her life back. Is she keeping secrets from Nick and everybody else?
Nick Rogers is the best attorney in town. He is a beast when it comes to his clients. He won’t lose and he fights and protects his clients. Nick comes across Faith Winters and he knows her inside and out from all the searching he done on her. But he has a feeling she is holding something from him.
Nick and Faith are good together. He compliments her in a way she is not use too. They are on new territory since they don’t believe in love. They are trying to figure out what is going on with them.
This ends on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the next book. This book had me going back and forth on who is lying and who isn’t. I love the way this book makes you think you know when in fact you don’t know who to believe or trust. It definitely kept me on my toes and I couldn’t put it down. Love this book.
Provocative is an interesting start to what is to be a duet. I like the heroine, Faith Winter, she’s smart and interesting. The hero, Nick Rogers (cue the Mr. Rogers jokes) is a typical alpha male: aggressive, a tad controlling, but interesting in his own right.
Faith is having a bad day when Nick meets her, or should I say, when he descends upon her with intent. Her winery is having an event when two sleazebags in suits surround her and try to get something out of her when Nick steps in and makes them leave. Apparently his reputation as Tiger is well known around town and it is enough to make the two men leave her alone. Faith has no idea who he is, but he most certainly knows who she is: the woman he suspects killed his father and her own mother. As the two journey into what starts as a sex only relationship, his heart is heavy with his secrets. And as the two start to fall for each other, I just cringed, knowing that when the shit hits the fan, it will be ugly and hearts will get shredded when the lies and secrets come out into the open.
The suspense is what really drives Provocative. Faith is interesting, and so is Nick, but the suspense and the mystery is what I like most about Provocative. I will admit I had been hoping for more explosive heat between Nick and Faith, and was disappointed that I didn’t get it. Yes, they were sexy together, but everything was a bit muted for my tastes. The scenes were descriptive, but not very, and I was left wanting after each scene. There was far, far too much internal dialogue and I found myself skipping some of it in hopes of getting to the action, not just of the sexy type. The pacing is a bit off, the first half is pretty slow, but in the last half things start to get more interesting when they start to admit their feelings, not to each other, but to themselves.
I am looking forward to the conclusion. I hope they can reconcile their feelings. I hope Faith will be able to forgive Nick for his deception, and of course, I really, really hope that Faith is innocent as Nick is starting to believe she is.
Lisa has done it again another GREAT book! It has romance, intrigue, suspense, drama & sex. You are drawn in to the story and fall in love with the characters, Nick & Faith. I was so into the book I couldn’t put it down had to read till the end and read it again in case I missed something. Looking for to the next book in the series. I recommend this book ages 18 & up.
There is more than enough mystery and intrigue to go around in this romantic suspense novel. Two people with secrets and lies in their lives. Faith is a talented artist who gave up her career and pretty much her life to live her father’s dream. It’s a legacy she does not want. She’s fighting to hold on to something her mother almost destroyed. Nick is a highly successful attorney who deals in absolutes and he is convinced that Faith is guilty of killing his father. A father he hated. Nick’s arrogant bravado and confidence are captivating and mesmerizing. The byplay between Nick and Faith is intense, erotic, sensual and practically sizzles off the page. But each one is wary of the other even though they are inextricably drawn to one another. There are far more questions than answers.
This is part one of two in a series. The bringing together of these two characters and their hot as heck chemistry is overshadowed by secrets and lies. I really enjoyed this this book.
Interesting story. Can’t wait to read the second book in the duet.
It was so boring I couldn’t finish it. Really disappointed as I usually enjoy lisa Renee Jones books very much.
