I think this is my favorite in this series so far. At an awards ceremony Max follows a scent, like them but not. It leads him to a beautiful woman, who it turns out is Deputy Chief Hal Mason’s daughter and he is not pleased.
Lana doesn’t care what her dad thinks, and she invites Max for pizza, which leads to a very interest confrontation with the Deputy Chief.
What Lana didn’t seem to know was that she was a werewolf and when circumstances force Max to shift and then tell her what she is the information wasn’t received well.
I really loved the way this story evolved, so much intrigue and the relationship that couldn’t be held at bay with Lana and Max.
Fast paced action with hunters searching for wolves. Revelations about what Deputy Chief Mason knows, an interesting conversation with Coletti from IA, and more about the psychologist Delacroix.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!
The hunters are getting bolder and the team is getting more frustrated because they can’t get ahead of the threat. So when Max meets Lana at a party more than sparks fly. Lana has been kept in the dark about her new abilities and almost pays the price. Fortunately her new Pack has her back and her skills come in handy.
Paige Tyler has put out another great addition to this fantastic series. Well written, sexy, emotional, funny, action filled, everything you want in a great book. Love the fact that we catch up with all the other SWAT pack members to see how their lives are going. Series is best if read in order.
I am already one of Paige Tyler’sbiggest fans ‘!!!
Can’t wait for the next book
I have the entire series in book and audio and love them all. This was another unique shifter book. Her Swat Team all become werewolves only after a life-changing dramatic incident in their lives. This group is wonderful of characters with an underlying conflict and enemies. I suggest this series to anyone who likes action with great characters and romance. The PNR aspect is truely an addition but so well done.
Max is all Alpha and cares about others, especially women and children. He doesn’t like bullies.
Lana has just completed her master’s and returned to Dallas where she meets Max and they hit it off instantly. They also run into obstacles almost immediately, starting with Lana’s father. Both Lana and Max decide that they will overcome those obstacles.
Max knows that Lana is The One for him but Lana just knows that the more time she spends with Max, the more she wants to spend with him. She has no idea what he is or what she is.
Can they make it work despite the odds?
Best one out of all them. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. Werewolves, hunters, and sex.
Lana has just finished college and returns home. Her dad is Deputy Chief of the Tactical Unit. Max is a wolf shifter and part of the SWAT team. He gets a whiff of some intoxicating scent and follows it. It smells like another wolf and he finds Lana but Lana doesn’t know she’s a werewolf. He knows she is THE ONE but has to go slow so as not to scare her.
When her roommate gets murdered and they believe hunters tortured and killed her, they think they were after Lana. Max must tell her what she is and keep her safe but it backfires on him. Lana doesn’t believe him even after seeing him shift and runs away. Max is worried sick until she shows up and says she believes him. The hunters are closer and Max will do anything to keep her safe.
The only thing I can’t figure out is how people get the wolf DNA? I don’t know if I missed it in the other books, which I’ve read.
* VOLUNTARILY READ AND REVIEWED THIS FOR NETGALLEY *
Max Lowry is the youngest of the all werewolf SWAT team commanded by Gage Dixon. He was abused and killed his dad in self defense at 18 defending his family. Max latent werewolf gene was activated by the trauma of that incident. He has trouble, because he’s so young, controlling his shift and his commander and pack mates help with that. Max meets Lana Mason, Chief Hal Mason’s daughter at a police awards ceremony and knows by her scent she “The One” for him. She is also a werewolf but doesn’t seem aware of it. Because they are meant to be together they fall into “insta-love” as Max has learned to expect from his other pack mates, but it confuses Lana. No one has ever affected her this way and her Dad is violently against it for some odd reason. As you read the story you begin to see why. If you’ve been following the series you will be happy to find a few unanswered questions resolved in this story. It is very much about “The Hunters” that are out to eradicate the werewolves.
I love reading the interactions and adventures of this SWAT team of brothers. It is such a fun world Paige has created full of heart and action. I love re-visiting characters and learning more about them like Internal Affairs officer Vince Coletti, Chief Mason and the hints to Dr. Delacroix might know about werewolves and be a whisperer. This story is about healing, overcoming what life throws at you and being there for each other. I love that.
Thank you Paige Tyler for writing this adventure and sharing it with us. And to Sourcebooks for granting me a NetGalley ARC for this freely given review.
