Everyone wants justice. That’s what Assistant DA, Lulu Lightly, tells me. “Cathedral City needs you to set things right,” she says. “To rid this place of corruption, once and for all.”I’d like to rid Lulu Lightly of her clothes. And maybe her moral superiority. But mostly her clothes.“I want you to fight the good fight with me,” she says.Hell, yeah. I’m always up for a fight.“We should stand up … a fight.
“We should stand up and be the voice of the people,” she says.
Sure, I hear voices. Sometimes I even listen to them.
“Figure out what’s good for the City and put it first,” she says.
Oh, honey… what’s good for the City is bad for the people. Trust me, I know. I’m Case Reider—insane Alpha, nefarious inventor, and I understand this town better than anyone.
Cathedral City needs me all right. Just not the way you think.
I’m not the justice you’re looking for, Lulu Lightly.
I’m still the same villain you left behind.
Only now… there’s something very, very wrong with me.

Book 2 in the SupaAlpha series by JA Huss. There has been a bit of a gap between book 1 and book 2, so if necessary I suggest you re-read (or read first) book 1 so that you get it straight in your head just what is happening!!
I have 3 kids between the ages of 8 and 20, and have watched and read with them all the SuperHero movies and books that kids like – Avengers, Thor, Iron Man, Batman, Superman, you know the ones, the ridiculously hot heros out to save the day, funny, witty, charming, but in the end just ever so nice. This series of books for me are turning out to be just like that, except these are SuperVillians with added erotica!! And it is just fantastic!! Who hasn’t wanted to bang Iron Man with his cocky wit or Thor with his big hammer!!! But I digress…..
The boys are back with their plan for Cathedral City well underway. But things in Cathedral City are not going too well, banks being robbed and computers being hacked, and the police and DA are trying to pin it on our boys. But that’s not part of their plan at all, so who is it??
Case hasn’t been himself since they had that fight with the Blue Boar, he feels different, knows something is going on, but won’t tell Lincoln, Thomas or Sheila. Even Sheila with all her computer equipment can’t find a problem with him or his body. But he knows……
Lulu Lightly is back in her hometown as Assistant DA. The justice system knows of her previous connection to Case Reider – he was her date to the debutante ball, things happened, and then she left. But now she is back, and having to face Case is the hardest thing for her to do. With her connections she is the perfect person to get to Case and find out just what the boys are up to and bring them to justice.
Another brilliantly twisted plot from JA Huss – fast paced, you need to pay attention to what is happening, spectacularly written sci fi story line full of nanites, drones, artificial intelligence, SpyGlass, serums and pills to take away your emotions. Action packed, full of raw, gritty and real complex characters that make you think outside the box, outside of good and evil, right and wrong. Sexy, witty and utterly compelling, you will be drawn into this world and hooked right into the main frame, unable to put the book down until you are finished. I can’t wait for the next book!!! A must read!!
Wow this world!! I need more. These books are brilliant.
When Anarchy Found came out in December 2015, it was my favorite book that year. It was totally different and I loved all the action and the storyline. I almost piddled myself when I saw that she was going to write book 2 and 3 this year. Holy Cheez-its was it ever worth the wait! I read this in a couple of hours, I didn’t want to put it down. My god this woman can write scenes that blow my flippity-flappity mind! See that big blob over there? Yeah, it’s my mind. Blown. Right over there. How is this series not a movie? Cause it totally should be! It’s like I’m watching a movie with everything going down right in front of my eye balls. Now I’m moving on to book 3 because I just can’t stop reading.
OK look…I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a superhero or sci-fi fan, I’ve always been a take it or leave it kind of girl when it comes to the genre. Enter JA Huss. She has been one of my ‘go to’ authors for a couple of years now and so a while back when she published the first book in the SuperAlpha series I said, “how can I go wrong, it’s Julie”…I’ll keep an open mind.
BOOM! Mind blown.
You need to start at the beginning (Anarchy Found) to fully understand these friends and their dark and dangerous mission, they’re hell-bent on revenge and eliminating the evil and corruption in Cathedral City. They endured unspeakable personal torment in their ‘school’ days and they have a plan. But even superheroes need love and that adds a whole new dimension to these Super Alphas and their mission.
Cole and Lulu are the focus couple in this second book in the series and they have a sweet history. But there’s something wrong with Cole and the ‘change’ is alarming. Getting them to their HEA/HFN was a fight…literally LOL.
This story is exactly the reason I read, it’s delightfully entertaining. It’s dark and chaotic, the action is fast paced and thrilling, the romance and sex add another layer to the story but by no means is the focus and the recurring characters share of bond you can’t help but admire.
As I reflect, I think the reason I like superheroes is I’m happy when the ‘good guys’ win. I’m not completely sure our band of SuperAlphas are all good, and in some instances border on vigilantes, but sometimes bad is good. I’m all in, I can’t wait to see what’s next!
As part of the ARC team, I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
