Stella’s the lead singer and lead guitarist of The Blue Moon Gypsies and Stella used to be Mace’s girl. Mace broke up with her, though, and the loss of him rocked her world. But Stella gets a call, late at night (again) from one of the members of her crazy band. She has to go play clean up (again) and runs into Mace and a shed load of police, and ends up getting shot.Mace finds he doesn’t like it … doesn’t like it much that his ex-girlfriend got shot right in front of him but it’s worse. A very bad man has thrown down the gauntlet and all the Rock Chicks are in the firing line. Stella doesn’t want Mace to be the one to keep her alive, but she has no choice. Mainly because Mace isn’t giving her one.

I have read almost all of this authors books, I’ve had all the Rock Chick books but for some reason I had not picked them up to read.
Mace and Stella’s story seemed a little different but still so good!! I’m getting there on to the next one!!
By far her best series–absolutely hilarious.
I LOVE this author! While several “friends” (for now) have said she’s a cotton candy writer (very sweet but no substance), I take issue with this. Ashley created an entire world within the streets of Denver that is so 3-dimensional, I was almost disappointed not to find Tex manning a coffee maker at Fortnum’s. She’s created witty, likeable, spunky characters that I want to have LBD Cosmo nights with. They also speak my language of snark and sarcasm! And then there’s the hot guys that have a sweet, patient core under their Badass-ery that make you believe guys like that could exist. Even her peripheraI characters have well-rounded development. I have loved every character, every plot, every snarky word and every exciting world she has created and you will too!
I love the whole series
I’m going to go 3.5 stars. The other POV’s were kinda cool. I definitely need to take a break from this series. Not a 5 year break but I will finish it this month. Um hello epilogue. Talk about informational dump.
Another awsome adventure with the Rock Chicks….Stella and Mace….you know these girls are going to get into trouble and their Alpha men will protect.
Love this series! She incorporates a lot of music references into the story and paints a vivid picture of her characters and the setting.
Audiobook edit: I just love the narrator for this series. Each one is truly a great listening experience. If you loved reading this book, you’ll definitely fall in love again listening to it.
As always, Kristen Ashley delivers an amazing novel that even rereading I couldn’t put it down!
The story arc was entertaining, but the characters pretty much ruined it for me.
The Rock Chicks (Indy, Shirleen, and Daisy) were even more annoying then ever, constantly barging in at the worst possible times and being even more annoyingly cutesy and strident then ever.
I had high hopes for Mace and Stella and then …nope.
[Mace breaks up with Stella telling her she’s too needy. But eight months later he tells her that was all a test that she failed when she let him walk away. Are you kidding me? What! Are you 13?
Liked Stella for a while until she used poor Eric, her stand in boyfriend, to heroically leave Mace alone. Luckily, Eric is a handsome Fed, has a brain and a spine and will be okay. I guess he’ll be okay, as we never hear from him again after Stella admits she loves Mace.
They both have rotten parents in their past, but really only Mace’s are truly dealt with. [ Stella’s parents are beyond toxic, but her mother is dying of cancer. There is a confrontation of sorts, but still felt like the editor lefts scenes on the cutting floor. I LIKE THINGS S-P-E-L-L-E-D OUT! (hide spoiler)]
Freaking fantastic story. It had everything I’ve come to love from KA and in the Rock Chick series. Excellent, detailed story with great characters, a bit of funny with some sexy throw in, a lot of emotion and drama. Perfection!
Everyone knows I really don’t read a series in order and I kinda wanted to read Mace and Stella’s story real bad so I did. Mace you can tell he cares about Stella even after being a year apart, but he does it in a bada** way that you have to love, “not fond of the idea of you calmly bleedin’ in the backseat of an SUV that I’m also in, Kitten. In fact, not fond of the idea of you bleedin’ at all.” When he marks a woman his he marks her his and that includes getting rid of potential threats of the opposite sex as well, “yeah, she says that. Then again, I’m pretty sure it was Stella I was effin’ this morning, it was me she asked to eff her harder and it was me she was holdin’ on to while she purred into my throat after I made her come. That’s contradictory information from her and me but, considerin’ I intend to be in her bed for the foreseeable future, I figure you understand where the eff I’m comin’ from just about now.” He also just has this way about him that well gets you feeling things, “babe, you’re sitting naked in my lap on the morning after a night where you begged to suck my -” He’s also protective, boy is he protective, “I warned you, now I’m tellin’ you. Do not ever effin’ speak to my woman again. I don’t give a s*** what comes out of your mouth, never again. I don’t even like you lookin’ at her. You never speak to her or my retribution will be physical. Hear me and believe me, I am not joking.” God I love Mace
I own the entire Rock Chick series. A must read.
