I have read almost all of this authors books, I’ve had all the Rock Chick books but for some reason I had not picked them up to read.
Luke and Ava are one of my favorite Rock Chick couples, it was so good from start to finish. On to the next one!!
Thoroughly enjoyable continuation of the Rock Chick series and I loved finally getting Luke’s story!
Luke and Ava are FIRE! There is an abundance of attitude, of sass, of feisty and fiery behavior, of love, of friendship, of trust, and about how important communication is. And did I mention SHMEKSHAY times? Because there is absolutely a delicious abundance of that let me tell you!
Luke was growly and melty and intense and it was scrumptious. Ava was sassy, loyal, and gave as good as she got and it was divine to witness and read about.
Absolutely a fantastic addition to the Rock Chick series and I cannot wait for the next one!
By far one of my favorite authors. This book is hysterical. Plus it has everything, adventure, dancer and hot Alpha guys!
Omg these two were so exhausting. One minute I was liking them, the next I couldn’t stand them. It’s been 5 years since I’ve read the first two in the series. Since binging on these last 3, the storylines are pretty much the same. Very cookie cutter. This book was also very long. I felt like a ton could’ve been cut out. Sooooo much description. I guess I just really don’t care about clothes and food details, but that’s just me. But whatever, I’m still moving on.
One life altering moment has Ava vowing that the next time she sets eyes on childhood friend Luke, he will see a different movement. See Ava although always beautiful, struggled with her weight and after overhearing some vicious comments about her and Luke she vowed that never again would it be embarrassing to be seen together. Now Luke, never cared how Ava looked, he thought she was beautiful inside and out.
Eight years later Ava has sought out Luke, who she heard was a private investigator needing his help at getting revenge when it comes to her best friends soon to be ex-husband, the cheating rat. It only takes one minute though as she walks through the door of the Nightingale offices to realize she is not ready to see Luke and tries a quick retreat, however Luke wants answers from Ava not to mention her in his bed.
Things are only heating up as Ava finds herself being sought after by four different men, including Luke. Not to mention she has been kidnapped and seems to be the center of havoc in all different directions. With the help of the Rock Chicks, Ava is thrown from one situation to the next but the only thing she continuously is running from is her feelings for Luke, but he plans to extract them from her in all sorts of creative manners.
I am torn between if Lee or Luke is my favorite, Luke is heart melting and swoon worthy. I loved this story it is a 50/50 on which one is my favorite.
I LOVE this series. Wish I could add stars! You’ll never look at a black Ford Explorer again without a tingle! The character building in this series is phenomenal. You will fall in love and laugh out loud. GREAT story, mostly believable. I wish I was in a ‘Triumph family’ babe!!
Ms Ashley never, ever fails to entertain with her characters, her great writing and her ability to draw you into the story from the first chapter. Was excited we finally got the story of Luke Stark. It was such a combination of Luke’s bad ass side and a side we had not seen before, a tender one. Loved the characters, loved the story and with all of her books, love Ms Ashley’s writing.
Audiobook edit: You gotta love this narrator. Ava and Luke were fantastic in print, but it came to life in audiobook format!
Out of all the Rock Chick books, this one ranks right up there as my favorite. Luke – like Lee – is so hot, you’ll have to fan yourself and Ava is as awesome as Indy! Together you have sparks you won’t want to miss!
Loved this! There was so much going on in this and a fantastic story was created. Lots of different layers happening and things developing. I thought it had a great pace and everything unfolded nicely. Loved all the characters and loved the Rock Chick adventures. This was entertaining and fun as well as action packed and intense.
Luke is well he’s all male I mean it, “you just…you just…handcuffed me to you!” Yes ladies you read that right the boy goes to extremes! He likes things the way he likes them and wants them the way he wants them, “until we’re done, however long that takes, no one touches you, not even to kiss your goddamned forehead. Got me?” He’s also a blunt person, “you’re too effin much. Throughout breakfast you’ve been decidin’ how to lie to me, and yourself, about what happened. That same time I’ve been strugglin’ with the urge to walk away from my mother, drag you back to my bed, rip your effin’ clothes off and bury myself so deep inside you, you feel me in your throat.” Luke is the type of man who wants to protect his woman but it’s very hard to do when every time Ava turns around she’s pissing him off, “I’ll tell you what to do,” Luke stated. “you come to me when you gotta sort s*** out. I’ll take care of you. You come to me when you need somethin’. I’ll take care of it. I’ll also tell you what not to do. You don’t have dinner with another man. you don’t sleep in his bed, I don’t care that he’s not in it with you. You don’t leave me standin’ on the sidewalk while you take off with a guy who, days earlier kidnapped you threatened to blow your effin’ head off. You don’t -” He’s really unfiltered and I like that about the men Kristen write about, “this is the way it is for us right now. I know you fixed this place up but I’m not givin’ up the loft so we’re gonna have to work somethin’ out about where we live, eat, sleep and eff. We last, you’re gonna have to give up the Range Rover. They’re dangerous because they roll easy and I don’t like you drivin’ it. We go the distance, we’re havin’ a small wedding, I’m not effin’ dancin’ and I want three kids, all boys, but if we have a girl she’s not datin’ until she’s twenty-five, especially is she looks like you, got me?”
