Nerdy, introverted genius lepidopterist, Lawson Gale, is an expert on butterflies. He finds himself in a small town in Tasmania on a quest from an old professor to find an elusive species that may or may not even exist.Local Parks and Wildlife officer, Jack Brighton, is an ordinary guy who loves his life in the sleepy town of Scottsdale. Along with his Border collie dog, Rosemary, his job, and … and good friends, he has enough to keep from being lonely.
But then he meets Lawson, and he knows he’s met someone special. There’s more to catching butterflies, Jack realises. Sometimes the most elusive creatures wear bow ties, and sometimes they can’t be caught at all.
Lawson soon learns there are butterflies he can’t learn about it in books. They exist only in a touch, in a kiss, in a smile. He just has to let go first, so these butterflies can fly.
Imago is the story of finding love, bow ties, and butterflies.

As with all her books, this was a sweet mm romance. The characters are well written, even if the “insta” like develops fast. The story is original, and I was definitely there in the park scenes. N R writes descriptions very well and the dialogue was snappy.
And there was a great dog. That should be enough to sell the book!
Enjoyable sweet mm, that actually take the time for DATES!
You won’t be disappointed.
I love LOVE this story. Omg, this author knows how to write sensuality and sexual tension, and chemistry, but also how to create two beautiful characters and a story with an extraordinary plot. It was extremely romantic, my heart be still.
Jack lives the good life in Scottsdale, Tasmania. He’s on his way home from Melbourne.
Home Sweet Home.
On his flight home, he meets Lawson.
Lawson is also on his way to Scottsdale. They travel together. Jack finds Lawson the most adorable genius he ever met.
He offers Jack a dinner date, and gosh it was so romantic.
They work side by side on the field. Jack does his thing and Lawson is gathering information to find one very special butterfly species.
In Jack’s eyes, Lawson is nerdy, gorgeous, intelligent, and sassy, he’s impressed and in love.
In my eyes he’s all this too, I love me some intelligent nerd.
“Hell, he even ticked boxes I didn’t know needed ticking.”
This was an extraordinary experience with the two most lovable men. I can’t find enough words to explain how they captured my heart.
A super easy-going, super romantic narrative. I was flabbergasted how everything clicked perfectly.
ALL the stars for this story
So I happened to see a post on IG that this series was on sale and because it’s M/M I had to check it out. Naturally I one clicked them all and got to reading.
If you’re looking for two swoon worthy guys, low angst and a nice dose of some sexy loving then this is the series for you.
I am so happy to have seen the post for these as I might not have discovered the fabulous stories of N.R. Walker and what a tragedy that would have been.
Fantastic read and I will be definitely diving into the rest of these books.
So freaking adorable!!! Jack and Lawson are both so stinking cute I can’t even handle it. I loved this quick, sweet, utterly charming little story! So happy there’s more to come- and I cannot wait to get to the Red Dirt Heart crossover…oh Charlie!
Yes, I’ve fallen down the N.R. Walker rabbit hole, and I don’t plan on climbing out until I finish all of her books. It’ll take me the rest of the year I’m sure, but I am on a mission! And I’m seriously contemplating taking a sabbatical and moving to Australia for awhile, so I can visit all these places she’s brought to life.
This was a really sweet story with beautiful descriptions of the land and wildlife. The characters were folks you’d want to know.
Imago is such a feel good story. Lawson and Jack make such a good couple and they’re perfect for each other. Lawson is a shy lepidopterist (studies butterflies) and Jack is a ruggedly handsome parks & wildlife officer. They’re unique personalities and the way they view the world mesh so well.
A very nice read.
okay read
