Going in blind is a rookie mistake. With my years of experience, you would think I should know better by now. I’m always the capable one that can handle anything that’s thrown my way, until Karma throws me off my game.My Karma comes in the form of a woman and she has to be payback for all the shitty things I’ve done in my life. Not just any woman but one who is determined to self-destruct. This … self-destruct. This woman is clearly going to be my downfall. Leaving me to find myself not only losing my heart, but risking my life in the process.
There’s no other option than to claw our way through dilemmas that might leave the both of us wondering if our next breath could be our last. We relish in the fact that we’ve got nothing to lose, because let’s face it… The faults of our sins will catch up with us in the end.
**This intense, standalone romance is not for the faint of heart. You’ve been warned.**

Another amazing story by Esther, full of action and surprises.
Peacock has an ego to match his nickname, he is tough, rough and mean on the surface but underneath he still has a heart. He is a Dom through and through when it comes to sex, but if called for probably has more understanding of what a woman needs, even if that means vanilla to start with.
Yesfir has had a rotten upbringing, completely controlled from a very young age and programed to be a killer on command. No love has been shown to her so trust is also an issue, it is something she has no understanding of.
These two characters are well suited once they start to get to know each other and work through all the issues both have. I loved them both, I also liked Marlon and Unique especially the fireworks they create between them. I very much look forward to their story.
There is some extreme violence in this story as well as sexual content, though most of that considering the BDSM angle is quite tame for one of Esther’s books. But it does also include some abuse content but not in massive detail, more it being told than when it was actually happening. I love the passion that Esther writes with, you can feel the energy just bursting off the pages of her books, not just this one but all of them. I never hesitate to recommend her stories, I have followed and read from the very first and never been disappointed with any of them this one included. My enthusiasm has me chaffing at the bit to get the next one even before its finished. I now wait with great anticipation for the next one. Great read as always.
We got a glimpse of Peacock in Ford. Strong, Dominant, arrogant as he*l and head of his own gang. He volunteered himself to take on the niece of a man they needed help from, and I think with this girl he’s met his match. Yesfir Borisov aka Redrain aka Peacocks Karma is much more than she appears. From the moment she walks through the door Peacock definitely takes notice and so does Karma. Rooster (as she calls him) is determined to set things right with her and for her and will do anything necessary to accomplish that. Peacock is one he*luva read. To get Marlon’s story you need to read Neon Marksman MC.
Okay, so I went a little one click crazy yesterday and one clicked this whole series! Who knew I hadn’t read it yet? The only series by this author that I have left to read, so I am trying to savour them!
Oh who am I kidding?! I can’t get through them quick enough and this book is no different!
I knew, when reading Ford, that Peacock was going to get his a** handed to him by ‘Karma’. To what extent I wasn’t sure, damn when I found out her back story, I was sobbing. The way Peacock handles her had my heart swooning, I mean don’t get me wrong, they clashed too but when it counts he has her back.
This book had me on the edge of my seat and I loved every word!
Great read, I loved it. https://storiesinreview971130128.wordpress.com/2018/11/22/my-review-for-peacock-by-esther-e-schmidt/
Peacock sees that Karma has to be punishment for everything he’s done wrong, giving her the name Karma, because he thinks that what she is.
Karma has her own set of rules and Peacock doesn’t like them, he also wants to know who hurt her, after asking her again she lets him know she killed them. Karma realises that Peacock is the first one to ask who and he sees right through her making her feel things she didn’t think she could after what happened.
Slowly Peacock sees that he’s making some progress with Karma, although when he finds out exactly who she is he thinks she’s there to kill him. The pieces don’t fit together for Peacock when he sees the broken look in her eyes and, he pushes, after her having a panic attack he finds himself wanting to give her another chance, after she admits she wants him.
Peacock struggles, he knows that it will take everything he has stop the fear in Karma’s eye, but she’s like no one he has every met before and he doesn’t want to let go of the connection they have.
Although she challenges him at every turn can Peacock show her what’s it’s like to love and be loved and heal her.
Hard to follow this book.
This book is entertaining and unpredictable in that it wasn’t like how I thought the story would go. The writer keeps you guessinh.
DNF it was so dry and bad ugh
Didn’t particular enjoy this book.
Fast paced, enjoyed this book

This book was written like it was a condensed version of something. So much happened but you go little to no background story, therefore, you really didn’t care much. It could have been really good, with more story.
This is my first and will certainly not be my last read by this author. I couldn’t get enough of this story.
Peacock was ready for a change in his life so when he was offered Karma by her uncle he couldn’t and didn’t want to refuse. From the first moment he met her she consumed him. Instead of reading up about her he went in blind which will come back on him later on.
I thought these two were super good together. Both are strong characters which I loved. They need to trust one another to move forward but that’s harder then they thought. Karma also needs to move on from her past which isn’t easy.
Brilliant storyline with main characters I clicked with straight away. The secondary characters are awesome too.
I’m so looking forward to book two which is about Marlon and Unique. From the little we’ve seen if these two together I’m sure it’s going to be an interesting ride 🙂
Cute story. Not dark, and quite humorous. I liked Peacock/Rooster and Karma. I was not really pulled into the story as I have been with this authors other work, but still enjoyed it. On a more personal note: I LOVED Ford so much that nothing can live up to it and I was expecting thus story to try. I fell for Unique and M, in this story more then the main characters. Totally worth the read, enjoyable, but just not my personal favorite.
I have quickly become addicted to Esther’s work. I was thrilled when she said she was releasing Peacock as I had just finished reading Ford. Once again she has effectively crossed over a character she introduced us to another amazing book!
Peacock is tough, dark, strong, a tad nutty, dangerous oh so freaking HOT! He takes on a task he may regret. In the midst of the dark underworld, he’s used to fighting. Being the boss means staying in control of his circuit, his business’ and even his desires. He demands compliance from those around him. He’s never allowed for anything less.
Karma was raised in the darkness she has come to rely on to keep herself in survival mode. She is fierce, strong, complex, dark and has a comparable nutty side to Peacock. When she’s faced with the unthinkable ordeal she has to figure out if it will break her beyond repair or use it to banish the demons that haunt her? She has relied on herself to get her through the chaos.
When they’re put together in a favor from one crime boss to another the explosiveness that threatens to overtake them and change their worlds. They both push and pull at each other trying to make sense of their attraction. They both have missions they’re sworn to protect. But what happens when they’re priorities change and they stop fighting it, can they figure out how to take down those who want to shatter them, for good?
I LOVED this book! It’s darker than the ones I usually read. However, it really spoke to me on a personal level. The amount of chaos that these two characters live through is unbelievable. I loved Karma’s inner strength and how she took control. While they’re love, actions and lives may be unconventional, it works so well. Esther effortlessly tells their stories and combines quite a few new and old characters. I can’t wait for Marlon!!!! This is a must read!
Oh my goodness! I loved it! Karma & Rooster…. you’ll fall in love with them. I can’t wait for bubbles & poster boys story.
Schmidt has a way of pulling you into her books and keeping you wanting more. I do wish they were longer bc I could read about these characters for a long time! Great writing!
WOW!! Esther is amazing. I love Godric and Yesfir story.
