Soar opens where book two, Crash ended. It is a heart-breaking scene with Addie, Kaden and Dimitri attending Xander’s funeral. Addie is left floundering and unwilling to move forward without the love of her life beside her. When Dimitri leaves to return to the House of Bane, Addie goes home with Kaden.
It is not long before the Fey court comes calling to claim Addie as its princess. While she does not want join the court, she is truly left with no choice. Kaden is forced to give Addie up to the court, but attempts to protect her as much as possible by sending Michael as her personal guard.
This book details Addie’s journey into learning the ins and outs of being a Fey princess. While King Kellen is extremely welcome, the Queen, Addie’s mother, is not and continues to manipulate all aspects of her life . . .with the biggest manipulation being that Addie must choose a Prince from 4 suitors in just a few short weeks.
Addie continues to struggle with who she really is and how she can possibly go on with life now that Xander is gone. She must also learn to control the dark forces inside her while dealing with her mother’s deceit and treachery.
Sloane Murphy has really done an amazing job of allowing readers to watch Addie’s personality grow and soar in this book. Forced to do what is best for others, rather than herself, Addie’s character shines. She continues to be a strong young woman and a force to be reckoned with. I love the banter she has with friends such as Michael and Rose. I also love the special bond she forms with a young child she finds being mistreated in the palace. This bond, more than anything has such a profound and beautiful effect on Addie that it is a joy to watch it develop.
As with the other books in this series, Soar ends with a bang. I can honestly say that the twist is not one that I saw coming and I was left breathless and wanting more! I cannot wait for the next installment to see how Addie’s journey ends . . . it has been an amazing ride so far and I am sure the ending will be spectacular!
4 stars.

After loosing Xander at the end of Crash, Addie has to go through the process of him not being around. But on top of that she is summoned to The Palace where she must take on her role and responsibilities as the Princess. Part of the responsibilities is finding a husband among suitors picked by her parents. But dealing with the loss of a loved one how is a girl supposed to choose a husband, when she is mourning Xander.
WTF, what did I just read, holy moly. So much emotional turmoil in this book. My heart just shattered for Addie in this book. She has been through so much in her 18 years of life and it just keeps getting messed up. I am just speechless after this book, I was absolutely hooked, I devoured it in a few hours as I just needed to know what was going to happen. Altogether at the beginning I was close to not continuing it as I wasn’t happy with the way Kaden was with Addie, I felt like it wasn’t fair to Xander. But the ended of this book just tore me apart again, I thought Xander’s death in Crash was bad but this was so much worse.
I am so dumbfounded that I am heading straight into Rapture. I need to know what’s going to happen.
Ok so I must say there were parts of this book that I didn’t agree with, or didn’t like. The twists and turns were unexpected, that’s a good thing though, very unpredictable. But that ending!!! WTF. There are no words. I can’t wait to see how this series concludes.

I cried so much during the first few chapters. It was utterly heart breaking watching Addie fall apart after Xander’s death, funeral and then them all dispersing back to their homes. Although Addie agrees to stay with Kaden, Michael & Celeste!! (I said ‘watching’ as when I read it’s like I see a film in my head, am I weird? Probably!!)
This book strayed from the formula of the first two books. This one is centred almost solely on Addie & her trying to come to grips with her new life!! There are chapters that are based on Kaden etc and Michael is with Addie constantly, but she is definitely the main focus!
She goes through some HUGE changes throughout this book. She’s matured, finally & starts to see things in differing perspectives than before. What never seems to change with her is her sense of justice & her capacity to love
An interesting & necessary story but not as gripping as the previous ones.
