Actress Sophie Birch is used to having to look out for herself. So when her theater catches fire and a big guy scoops her up into his arms to save her, she’s going to fight every step of the way. Even if he’s a cop. And really sexy. And his arms feel oh-so-good. Finn Kelly can’t help but appreciate how good the woman in his arms looks in her sexy pink lingerie. Even if she’s currently resisting … currently resisting arrest.
But as the two get to know each other, they’re both surprised by the things Finn is willing to do to get closer to her. And when Sophie’s estranged father arrives in town and starts causing trouble, the stage is set for disaster…unless Finn can convince her that, for once in her life, she has someone to lean on.more
Good gravy.
Every time I finish an Erin Nicholas story, I am wowed all over again, and Totally His is no exception. This latest (the third in the Opposites Attract series) brings us more of what Ms Nicholas writes best–a remarkable couple with incendiary chemistry, some very real frailties, more challenges to their happiness, the ability to use their words, and ultimately an incredibly satisfying resolution. Throw in warm and wonderful supporting characters, and I’m always going to want to move to whatever fictional universe Ms Nicholas has created. As always, Ms Nicholas’s storytelling is well paced, and her characters are three-dimensional and nuanced. I cheer them on, I loathe some of them (okay, really, just one of them…), feel sorry for them, want to hang out with them… they all feel real!
Totally His features Sophie Birch and Finn Kelly. Sophie is an actress and co-owns a local theater with her father, a conniving conman who’s left behind a string of ex-wives once he’d finished bilking them of a home for Sophie and whatever other material goodies they could provide him. Finn Kelly is a police officer, part of a huge, welcoming family, who is called on scene to the theater the night of a suspicious fire.
Sophie and Finn definitely recognize they have chemistry, and also recognize reasons they might not want to act on that. I’m sure you can imagine how well they’re able to avoid each other 😉 Ms Nicholas lets their story unfold beautifully, and along the way, reminds us of the deep joys and bittersweet sorrows of family and committing our hearts. And yes, love is solid and real and worth it. Totally!
Totally His was totally amazing. I started highlighting all my favorite parts while reading and realized I needed to stop highlighting because I wanted to highlight the entire book. What a fun, sexy, heart warming, and sometimes frustrating read (only because of one annoying chatacter that is the “villain” in this story). I absolutely adored Finn and Sophie. Their chemistry was scorching hot. Loved how they met and how their relationship developed. Loved Finn’s family. Such a fun and loving group. But I totally hated the “villain” in this story. Now I put villain in quotation marks because this isn’t a villain like in a romantic suspense with the bad guy killing or hurting anyone physically. This bad guy just hurts the main character emotionally. So is it bad for me to wish Erin had killed him off so that Sophie and Finn would have a drama free and perfect HEA? Probably. But like with so many of her books, her characters are much better people than I am. So giving and understanding. I just want the HEA for all the good people and kill off all the bad. LOL. However I am a little sad that this might be the last book in the Opposites Attract series. But I’m hoping someday in the future Colin and Tripp, Finn’s brother and best friend, will get a story of their own. Or the other people in the Kelly clan. Finn’s got a great big family. That would be awesome.
This is the first book that i have read form this author, but not the last. This is a delightful, witty romance between a Boston bred Irish policeman, Finn Kelly and actress and theater owner, Sophie Birch. Their backgrounds couldn’t be more different. He grew up with a large close family, while she was raised by a con man, using one woman after another to support him, with little Sophie as the bait. Sophie first befriends Finn’s mother Angie, who tries to keep them apart, afraid they will both end up hurt, but this is a romance with a HEA, so they will find just what they need in each other.
Great read!!! Erin is one of my favorite authors!
Loved Sophie & Finn! Their interactions are at times sweet, hilarious, witty & hot! Ms. Nicholas has their attraction jumping off the page from the first moment they meet! The interactions between the rest of the family is totally realistic & believable. There was only one character that I didn’t like but he was totally necessary for the story to play out. You’ll figure out who it is when you read the story! Another great read by a terrific author!
WOW!!! I loved, loved, loved reading Totally His by Erin Nicholas, the third book in her Opposites Attract series. Ms. Nicholas knows how to create a wonderful story with two people who are totally opposite one another find a connection and a way to bridge those differences. I’m not sure how she does it but Ms. Nicholas keeps writing books that are better than the last, though I’m not sure how that is possible. It’s why she has become a go-to, auto-read author.
Sophie Birch’s theater was on fire, fire fighters and police surrounded the building making it difficult for her to sneak back in to save a script. Policeman Finn Kelly saw someone entering the blazing building. Finn saved people, fixed them, & helped them heal, so of course he had to get that person out. Thus begins the amazing love story between Sophie and Finn. Sophie grew up moving with her dad from con job to con job, scamming some woman into falling for them and marrying Frank, her dad. She never knew what is what like to grow up within a large family; at least, other than her theater family. Frank was not father material, guilting Sophie that she owed him for providing a home for her, and not caring to use his fifty percent ownership in the theater to benefit anyone but himself. Finn was a Kelly, a loud and large family that loved everyone. Was it possible for these two to realize that their love could outlast their fears? Could someone out-con con guy Frank?
Nicholas is an excellent storyteller, keeping me interested in this story so that I had trouble putting it down. I highly recommend this outstanding book to other readers and look forward to her next book.

After growing up with a sketchy character for a father, Sophie Birch learned early on that it was best that she take her personal safety into her own hands, and not always trust the kindness of strangers. After watching her father swindle woman after woman, the kind words uttered from a gorgeous man always leave her a little leary… but she has never met a man quite like Finn Kelly. When disaster strikes her little theater and Finn offers his help, she can’t help but become a little weak in the knees for the sexy officer… and maybe even start to feel like she can finally put her trust in the hands of another.
The moment Sophie Burch crashes into Finn Kelly’s world he is completely taken with the beautiful actress, but it quickly becomes evident that she doesn’t seem to feel quite the same way. With her little theater in great need of repair he decides to volunteer his help, with the hope that he maybe able to prove to her that she can trust him. And little by little his plan starts to work, but not without a little resistance here and there, then once she gives in a little the sparks start to fly and he starts to think it might finally get his girl. Everything seems to be going well for them… that is until Sophie’s past comes back to haunt her!
Totally His is a romantic, charming, and pleasurable read that is sure to score a special place in the heart of every reader! From the moment I met this couple I knew that they were going to treat me to a fun little literary escape, they had the undeniable chemistry, the feisty sexually charged banter, and a lot of trouble brewing around them that kept things very interesting! This is my second visit to the series and I have to say I enjoyed this trip just as much as the first, the story line was captivating, and the characters were simply amazing! Highly recommend this one, it’s sure to have your heart overflowing and your toes curling!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.
The lure of Erin Nicholas is that through the drama and heartbreak she never holds back on the realism. Using the defining moments in life such as falling in love, facing fears and learning about what makes us who we are, she stays true to life and allows hints of the childhood fairy tale to filter into adult happiness. Totally His takes on fear and self – doubt with the humor that is Ms. Nicholas’ trademark and the emotion that every fan expects. Sophie makes neurotic sexy while Finn thrives on keeping readers guessing. With a flair for fun and a penchant for romance, this couple shoots for the stars and hits the bullseye.
