Mouse – the mysterious man with the unassuming moniker (and the mentor of teen super Kid Sensation) – finally has his story told.Brilliant and gifted, Mouse is a mental whiz who fails utterly in his initial attempts to join a superhero team. With his dream ostensibly out of reach, he eventually ends up working at an electronics repair shop, toiling in relative obscurity but seemingly content and … content and at peace with the hand fate has dealt to him. However, a surprise visit from the Alpha League – the world’s premier team of superheroes – changes all of that in a heartbeat.
Implicated in a crime that he knows nothing about, Mouse is forced to go on the run. Hot on his heels is not only the Alpha League, but also an anonymous faction whose motives are questionable at best. But despite a lack of discernable super powers, Mouse – adroit and nimble in body as well as mind – is determined to stay one step ahead of his pursuers.
It soon becomes clear that he is at the center of events with far broader implications than anyone ever imagined, and Earth itself is in danger. However, with few resources and even fewer allies, saving the planet won’t be easy, and even a cerebral crackerjack like Mouse might be forced to admit defeat.

This review is for the audio book.
I have listened to all the books in the Kid Sensation series and loved them, so was glad to see Mouse had a story all of his own. It was great to find out more about this character, in the Kid Sensation books you keep getting little hints as to Mouse’s past and I really enjoy this book where the author weaved them altogether. You don’t need to have read the previous books to enjoy it, as it can be taken as a stand alone book but I think it really adds to the enjoyment if you have met him in previous books. He is also a fun character and I liked his first introduction into the big league’s- namely his interaction between the other super hero’s. With lots of action and a little romance this book sure added a punch to the series.
Mouse a simple repairman is questioned by the Alpha league super hero’s when one of his gadgets is used to rob a museum and the suspect is killed in the ensuing battle. The only thing is, Mouse is no ordinary guy and when it becomes obvious that they aren’t just going to leve him alone to live his simple life he has to stop playing defensive and go on the attack but what he and the Alpha team doesn’t know is that there are more sinister plans in the work.
I can’t wait to see who the author writes about next.
The narrator does a brilliant job and I might have to see what other books he has narrated as I know if he is reading them then they are going to be good.
My New Superhero is Mouse & it’s NOT Mickey!!
This is my first Kevin Hartman novel and it won’t be my last. The action starts in the first chapter and from there it’s just go, go, go. Talk about being on a mouse’s exercise wheel, round & round we go! The storyline is novel and interesting with lots of fascinating characters that create an exciting energy throughout the story. The violence is typical of superhero novels but not overly graphic, and the minor sex scenes are not explicit therefore the story can be enjoyed by youngsters who love fantasy and are old enough not to repeat the foul language that escapes our heroes lips. The narrator, Mikael Naramore, does a fabulous job with the voice characterizations. I had no difficulties differentiating between the characters. He is an enthusiastic narrator whose expression filled voice added quality to the overall experience. I felt as if I was sitting in a cinema watching one of the first Star War movies, many years ago. Thank goodness this audiobook was only 8 hours long because I just could not stop listening as I was enjoying myself way too much. Mouse is such an unforgettable character whose grit and courage touches the heart. He creates cool gadgets, stays one step ahead of everyone and uses his intellect to defeat his foes. I sure hope that there are other books in this series as I’d love to see what the Alpha-League Supers and Mouse tangle with next. The audiobooks would be great to listen with your tweens & YA’s, especially during a long car trip. They will enjoy this rich world of make-believe as they meet Mouse and his new Alpha League Supers. If you want something fun to read as an escape from your stressful work week, this audiobook will do it. 4

Mouse’s Tale: An Alpha League Super Novel, my thirteenth read from author Kevin Hardman. Well-written super-hero sci-fic/suspense, with well-developed characters. With each book Hardman writes the story-line gets more enticing, drawing the reader deeper & deeper. Narrator Mikael Naramore’s talented narration adds greatly to the book’s enjoyment & was a perfect choice for this book. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I’ll be reading more in this series. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
Mouse’s Take by Kevin Hardman and narrated by Mikael Naramore is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. I have my favorite characters in this series and Mouse is one of them. It’s pretty cool to find out how he gets into the League. It sounds like the Supers were real jerks to him at first, made me doubt their ” Good guy” status! Mouse also had to deal with alien jerks! Exciting and interesting! Now I wish there for a book about Rune!
Narration was excellent as always!
