Former D-Force bodyguard, protects mega-star’s body double from a predatory stalker’s deadly hunting gameFresh out of the military, John Wayne “Duke” Morrison is back in his home state of Montana, starting a new job in the Brotherhood Protectors security service. His first assignment is to, protect film star and diva Lena Love from a stalker leaving her threatening messages. After fighting … fighting terrorists in the Middle East, Duke assumes this assignment will be a walk in the park.
Angel Carson, lovingly known as “The Angel of Death”, is a woman with a death wish. Her main claim to fame is her uncanny resemblance to Lena Love. Prior military, she’s seen combat, lost friends and now works as the stunt woman for the mega-star. When Miss Love is threatened, Angel steps in as bait to draw out the stalker on the diva’s 6,000-acre ranch in the foothills of the Crazy Mountains. To cover Angel’s back, Lena has engaged a bodyguard to watch her six and be there when the stalker reveals himself.
Unable to tell Duke she isn’t the real Lena, Angel must perform like a diva. As the stalker closes in, she reluctantly accepts Duke’s help to stay alive. In forced proximity, tempers and passions ignite, leaving Duke and Angel struggling to resist an irresistible attraction while eluding the stalker’s predatory game. When the stalker becomes the predator, the power of Delta Force brotherhood becomes a force to reckon with.

John Wayne “Duke” Morrison’s (gotta love the name) first day on the job for Brotherhood Protectors and he gets stuck with a diva. The same obnoxious woman he encountered the night before…sheesh. Angel Carson thought pretending to be a mega star for a couple of weeks would be a piece of cake. A deadly stalker has other plans. Duke and Angel team up to take down a bad along with a little help from his friends.
This is the fourth book in the Brotherhood Protectors series. Duke has been medically discharged from the military and started a new job with the Brotherhood Protectors. His job is to protect the actress Lena Love who has made a lot of enemies and needs rehab for her drinking and drug habit. She also flashed Duke one night in a bar when he refused to dance with her. Lena Love has been receiving threats and her agent wants her protected at all costs. Angel Carson looks a lot like Lena Love and is actually her stunt woman and body double. When the threats start Lena’s agent asked Angel to step in and be bait, which Angel agrees to since Lena will be safe in rehab. Angel can handle herself, she was medically discharged from the rangers, no one can know she is not the actress for this to work. There is a spark between Duke and Angel but Duke can not have a relationship with his client or can he? I love this book, the characters are amazing and the story keeps you guessing until the very end. This is a must read.
A stunt-double and a bodyguard
Angel is the stunt double for a famous actress. When they go to Montana it becomes clear the actress has a stalker who is intent on getting revenge on way or another Angel and Lena’s publicist decide to get Lena away from Montana and have Angel pose as her for a few weeks to draw the stalker out – but Angel wasn’t prepared for the sexy bodyguard and the feelings he stirred
A quick read which was enjoyable
This was a quick listen. It wasn’t too bad, wasn’t too detailed, just ok.
I liked that Duke didn’t fall for Lena because she was female and famous. I did like Angel. She had a unique skill set that tied right into Duke’s. I don’t know how Duke as a Special Forces operative managed to miss all of the slips Angel made while she was being Lena.
I was surprised that Lena didn’t have a larger part in the book considering she was the one with the stalker. Did she even know she had a stalker?
There was some action and suspense, but I wish there had been more detail, more story, more something.

Cowboy D-Force (Brotherhood Protectors Book 4):by Elle James
5 stars
I purchased a copy of the steamy romantic suspense novel Cowboy D-Force (Brotherhood Protectors Book 4):Duke and Lena by Elle James and this review was given freely.
Irony, the seemlier side of LA actresses, bad first impressions, scorned lovers, a stalker and a Delta Force team willing to back up their medically discharged buddy.
After putting on a drunken scene at the Blue Moose Tavern, polysubstance abusing diva actress Lena Love is found by her stunt double Angel in the bar’s bathroom passed out with a threat written in ink on her face. Lena’s publicist convinces former Army Ranger Angel Carson to play Lena for two weeks while Lena is in rehab hoping to flush out the stalker but, Angel gets more than the vacation she planned when Brotherhood Protectors newest bodyguard former Delta Force team member John Wayne ” Duke” Morrison takes the job and sees through the ruse.
Duke is ex Delta Force and joins the protector agency. Angel is a stunt double for Lena Love. When Lena gets death threats Angel assumes her identity to flush the killer out. The book gets better during the last 2 chapters.
Cowboy D-Force: Duke and Angel were great together Even though she was a stunt double for an actress. Great writing and a good addition to the series. Like.his team members and how they missed him and came so the could spend time together. Loved the book.
Another book from Susan Stoker’s Kindle World. I chose this book as I was familiar with this author’s work.
It’s a quick read and it entertained me in today’s commute.
Two medically discharged military people are thrown together on a job. Duke is now a bodyguard and Angel is a stunt woman currently posing as her look alike movie star she doubles for. He is protecting her from a crazed stalker who wants her dead.
The story has suspense, sizzling scenes, drama and some funny moments. Great chemistry and an enjoyable read.
Lena Love is a diva to the max, with an alcohol problem. When she over does it this time, her agent arranges for her stunt double to pretend to be her while they get her into rehab.
Angel Carson was fine with doing stunts, but to play the part of Lena while they try to catch a stalker was a bit much. Not really having a choice she settles into the elaborate ranch set up.
John Wayne “Duke” Morrison’s first assignment for Brotherhood Protectors is bodyguard to Lena.
After being party to her advances the previous night he definitely wasn’t looking forward to it. However he is a professional and could handle whatever Lena decides to throw at him. Something is off with her though and at first he can’t figure out what it is. Then she slips off to skinny dip in the pool, and he ends up saving her from the foreman’s unwanted advances.
Now that Duke knows exactly who he’s dealing with they come up with a plan to draw out the stalker/predator.
Tense situations, as the hunter becomes the hunted, situations that will have you giggling, sizzling romance and that all so worthy HEA.
Duke is ex Delta Force and joins the protector agency. Angel is a stunt double for Lena Love. When Lena gets death threats Angel assumes her identity to flush the killer out. The book gets better during the last 2 chapters.
