I really enjoyed this vampire book more than I thought I would—my first book by this talented author.
This is not your ordinary vampire book. If you crave action and eager to read how the good guys fight the evil of this world to rid the earth of bad vampires, with a love story mixed in, then this book is for you.
We meet Sarah. We follow her heartbreaking struggle with life after the loss of her fiancé. At the beginning, Sarah does not know the evils around her until her best friend Craig introduces her to his friends where he lives. Sanctuary 14. With something missing in her life, Sarah begins training with Craig and his friends.
Sarah meets JD. He is the first man she has felt something for since her fiancé Alex died. Sarah and JD become close, building their friendship into a romantic relationship, and Sarah becomes a very talented vampire hunter.
Tragedy strikes when vampires severely hurt JD. A guest staying at Sanctuary 14 betrays them and is responsible for the death of one of the team members.
An action-packed page-turner book with great characters and story building. Recommend and cannot wait to sink my teeth into the next book.
When Craig reveals to Sarah the truth behind all of his bruises and physical fatigue, he never imagines the series of events that will follow. She wants to meet the team, and when she does she decides to join in the training, which leads to a lot of time spent with JD, the martial arts instructor. As feelings bloom, so does the danger from their job… killing vampires.
It was different to read a paranormal romance involving vampires that isn’t about the vampires themselves. Trudie leads the reader through a lot of training as we get to know each character and understand the mission more and more through Sarah’s involvement. Great read!
I love this author and can’t wait to sink my teeth into a Vampire Tale!
I love this author’s work and Vampire Hunters was a very enjoyable story.
JD is a vampire hunter and a trainer…the leader of Sanctuary 14. Sarah is a grieving young woman. And there it begins.
This story is well-written and character-led, set in a world of vampires, humans and hunters. The characters make it a brilliant read – interesting and compelling. The relationships are believable, the plot is nicely done and the sense of place is realistic, despite the fantasy genre.
I loved it and highly recommend this great tale.
Wonderful character development…
I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful character development in the cast of Vampire Hunters. The author does a really good job of introducing the reader to all the main characters and building their relationships among the cast creating a true family within their Sanctuary of hunters. The romance between JD and Sarah was a slow burn that was perfect for their relationship. As the story continues to develop new characters are introduced, and deceit and betrayal is in the air in this unique world of vampires and hunter. I enjoyed the read.
Loved this! It’s not like other vampire hunter stories, all lust and passion…Yes, there is passion but it is all kept within real relationships and feels deeper for that. The story line keeps you turning the pages and the action packed fight/training scenes are really well done. Love how JD is such a hard nut to crack but clearly has a soft side too. The way Sarah caught her man was a delight to read!
Hoping this is going to become a series. There are plenty of side characters with stories to tell.
While hunting vampires is a well-known and often-used trope, the dynamics between Craig, JD, Sarah and the rest make for some good tension and interesting conflicts. The author gives us interesting action, intriguing characters, and some fascinating world-building. The cinematic quality of her fight scenes is impressive. It’s a long book, but it doesn’t feel milked or padded.
