My life is a hot mess.Single, working, and raising two daughters, it’s a miracle I get us up, dressed, and fed every morning. Forget about dating—nobody’s got time for that. Even if love hadn’t left me jaded, I’m not settling for anything less than perfect this time around. Lucky for me, the perfect man just happens to work in my office. But there’s just one small problem: he’s my boss, and is … my boss, and is totally off limits. But hey, if it’s meant to be, it’ll find a way, right?
Then a night out with friends turns into a night in with the walking-talking bad boy cliche of a bartender. It’s just one night. No harm, no foul, right?
Except when the hot bartender turns out to be my boss’s trouble-making brother, who wants more than just one night with me. The more I resist the spark between us, the more I find myself wanting him too. Which puts me in the middle of what could be the biggest sibling rivalry of the century.
Life is messy.
And love?
Well, love is even messier.
HOT MESS is book one in the LOVE IS MESSY series

I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
Delightful. Most enjoyable.
Wish I had know it was a cliff hanger, grr. It’s good, fun read, loved the characters.
Hot Mess was a beautiful story about life’s second chances.
Lexi is a single divorced mom who’s hesitant to start dating. Her little girls mean the world to her and she doesn’t want to introduce them to a guy just to have their hearts broken if things don’t work out.
After some persuading Lexi’s friends finally get her to agree to go out with them and have some fun. It turns into a night to remember.
Luke is nothing like Lexi expected. The man is a little mysterious and full of surprises. He has Lexi rethinking who her perfect man might be. What started out as a one night stand is quickly evolving into something more.
Will Lexi’s fears keep her from giving their relationship a real chance?
I really enjoyed Luke and Lexi’s story and can’t wait to find out how it ends.
This is a great start to this duet.
This is book 1 of 2 and must be read before the next one.
“Throw. Books. Away. He might as well have stabbed me right in the heart”
Luke, lexi and cole are such good characters. I devoured this book and couldn’t put it down.
I’m so pumped to read the second one.
“Sometimes things have to fall apart to be put back togther”
My God, Lexi and Luke are so good together! They’re sexy, and sweet, and so perfect for each other. Lexi’s a hard working, overworked I dare say, single mother, and Luke is a hot bartender who just happens to be her boss’ brother. I love everything about them together. He’s so sweet, so unbelievably good to her, and to her daughters. Lexi so deserves a great guy like him, especially after having dealt with the douchebag that is her ex husband.
Of course, you know that things can’t all be smooth on the path to happily ever after, so there are obstacles in their way. Obstacles in the form of Luke’s past, the fact that he and her boss hate each other, you know, things like that. Be prepared for a big cliffhanger. If you don’t like cliffies, wait until the next part of this duet is out before reading Hot Mess. Otherwise you’ll be stuck in book hell like I am, dying with impatience while waiting for their story to conclude.
What a beautiful mess. I love how Lexi is an amazing, strong woman just trying to get through each day taking care of her children, her job and her house. After her divorce, she doubts herself but she has this great courage and spirit that keeps her pushing through. Never dreaming that she would end up a single mother. Grace and Paige are such fun girls, struggling with life in two households and all the insecurities that happen when children have to cope with divorce. This all felt so real to me, as if Lexi was my friend. Lexi finally goes out with her friends one night and ends up catching the eye of the sexy bartender. Will she really make the jump and have a one-night stand? Luke, oh sexy, damaged Luke, is drawn to Lexi from the moment she walks into the bar. There is something about her that lights up the room. What Luke expects to be a one-night stand, he comes to realize he wants more. Lexi and Luke are both coping with big changes in their lives, I loved how natural their connection felt. How they easily talk, banter and just are comfortable with each other. Throw in a jerk of a brother, Cole, that hates Luke and is Lexi’s boss, and I enjoyed this perfect cocktail that gave me crazy drama as their romance blooms. Of course, their journey doesn’t end in this book. Excited for book 2.
I would have given it more stars if it had had an ending! It just leaves the reader hanging so you will purchase the next book in the series/
Lived it bought the 2nd one to finish the story.
Loved this series!!
Quick and easy read. Predictable, but that’s ok- most romances are. Still very entertaining.
Excellent read!!!!
Wish this was a story with an ending instead of having to purchase part two.
Great book! Can’t wait to read the sequel!
Couldn’t put it down!!
Hot Mess was a page-turner. The book received four stars because the story did not need detailed sex scenes to be a page-turner. I must read the sequel.
