Some would say I have a privileged life. Daughter of the current President of the United States, wealthy, famous, and all things that some girls wish they had. Only I’d dream of having a simple life. A life where I wasn’t marrying the scariest man I have ever met. Well, I thought I had just met him, but it turns out, there’s so much I don’t know about myself. That’s all thanks to a past so … twisted, so warped, that no amount of money, or presidential status could wipe it clean.
I’m the rebel child. Or as some may see it, the disappointment. I’ve never cared about expensive wedding gowns, or how much someone paid for a tailored suit. I don’t care if your wedding dress is from Walmart, or if it’s from some fancy, upscale designer line.
So why am I marrying the devil dressed in a thousand-dollar suit?
I’m about to find out how I got here. To marrying one of the most powerful men in the country. The road to finding out, though, is paved with darkness, painted with the blood of innocents, and it leads my ass straight to hell. Only this hell is a multi-million-dollar penthouse suite in New York City where Bryant Saint Royal, sits on his throne.
Little bit more about this book…
I’ve had this plot turning inside my brain for a while now. I’ve tossed and turned with it, fought with it, tried to modify it to be more acceptable, and in short, I’ve tried to p*ssy foot around my brutal little demons who have been whispering this story for over a year. Truth is, I couldn’t tame it. I couldn’t tame them, and I had to write it exactly as I saw it. Exactly as I have lived it, breathed it, relished in it inside of my head. See, my stories aren’t voices, they’re real, and they own every single inch of my being as I write them. Back to this book, yes, it was originally supposed to be a standalone, but I sent it to TWO betas who BOTH kicked up a sh*t at me about how the story was just…untold. So, I went back in, dove head first back into the murky depths of hell to revise, re-edit and twist the plot even further so this could be told in THREE parts. Book 1 is a full length standalone, but books 2 & 3 will be A LOT longer. You won’t be able to figure out this plot. Calling it twisted is an understatement, and It will f you in more ways than you’ve ever been f-ed before.
Anyway, I would say goodluck, but luck ain’t got shit, and god ain’t gon’ save you.

Seriously Twisted
Ahhh so freaking amazing! I am just like WHAT THE FUDGE DID I JUST READ
Amo has done a brillant job at keeping me addicted to Isa and Bryant and their hate to hate to like relationship. I started thinking I knew where this was going and then BAM heres a twist and I am left thinking whaaa…….. but it doesn’t end there here add in few more twists to keep me on my toes. Ohhh and that ending I was left thinking What That’s It?? but wow was I wrong, there was a second ENDING and now I am back to being like whaaaa?????????? I need more, there are so many unanswered questions that I need answered, I seriously need to know what is going on and what is going to happen next!!!
I would recommend this to anyone who likes a total mind boggling read, who loves stories with lots of twist and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat, if you love Dominant Alpha males who are very very bad and if you love a sassy firey woman then this is definitely the book you want to read.
4,5 star
Oh-My-God!!! I need a minute or ten. So, if you have a desire for an history filled with unicorns or rainbows, it is not your book. But, if you prefer a sexy, mind-bending story full of turns and dark moments, you have to start reading this book, and don’t put it down until the end!

Total mind twist! I will shamefully admit that I liked the main male character from the start, even though he was not intended to be likable. This book is about a girl who is the presidents daughter and lives life a little edgy. She finds herself in an interesting predicament forcing her to marry a not so nice billionaire CEO. You will go through several twists and turns and the ending will leave you floored. You think you know where this book is headed only to be wrong in the end.
I enjoyed the quick read!
Disclaimer: Huge cliffhanger. This does also hint at a little bit of sexual violence. May have triggers for some people.
Now I understand the genius image on the bookcover….
Oh how I wish I wasn’t so committed to my plans to complete my reading challenges for two reasons. I want desperately to read the next book in this amazing saga. And… I would be able to take the time and do a full review presentation. This book deserves more than this, my “review-lite”.
” Crowned by Hate” is my first exposure to Amo Jones and I just love her writing style, not to mention her warped sensibilities. I mean this as high praise. This well-written story checks all the boxes for me. It is mysterious, dark, suspenseful… inadvertently romantic. The story has characters who have surprising hidden natures and agendas beneath their masks. It is explosively erotic. Ahh…This eroticism being the best part!
While not all is revealed about what conspiratorial elements are at play through our female and male protagonist narrators, we grow closer to Bryant as he can’t help himself from falling for Isa. At the same time, our intimacy with Isa gradually wans as she becomes more unknowable moving through the plot points of the story.
Bryant is the aloof, Dominant, beautiful man who wants revenge and has plans for something more. He is beautiful in face, form, genetic gifts and everything that makes a girl’s heart go Boom! Isa is a hot beautiful mess. She is a rebel and a disruptor. She claims to suffer from nymphomania and is completely unconcerned that she has an addiction to sex.
Options…. I like options. Everyone likes options and the reader is given the option to choose a HEA. Oh, but this author knows for whom she writes! So adding to all the glorious [hate-fudging], she tosses in a solid [mind-fudge] for those of us… which is actually most of us… who choose to read on past the point of madness.
I would not call the ending a “cliffy” but the ending compels you to need the next book. Hence, the source of my dilemma. I have 5 reading challenges to finish before the year’s end with each book carefully selected for the possibility of fulfilling a number of the challenges. Ugh…The next book must wait for me, but I will definitely get to it. I lurve this story too much to not finish it.
Lucky for you if you choose to give this series a try and you can read the books back-to-back. I completely recommend this opening salvo in this erotic, twisted, “romantic” mind bender. If only for the glorious [hate-fudging]. Pardon the euphemism… I’m writing this in my kindle and posting it simultaneously on Amazon and Goodreads. You all know the score on that.
Go… Go now… Get this… Read and enjoy. You know who you are that will devour this dark jewel.

Crowned by Hate
1. Can I be bestfriends with Isa?
2. Oh can Devon tag along?
3. And hot damn… Who is Bryant Royal?
There are so many moving parts in this story. The reader has to stop, highlight, and maybe do a reread. The way Isa and Bryant met wasn’t fate. It was orchestrated… I could tell right off that Isa didn’t know what the hell she stepped into.
Isa thought her life had its own complications. Nothing could be worse but this is all before Bryant. I kept wondering through the story… What is he damn endgame? He has to have one. Bryant wouldn’t forced Isa into a relationship if there wasn’t an endgame.
Oh and what the hell is with Brooke? She isn’t a woman that you just befriend. It seems so much crazy happens around Brooke. Does she have connection at all to Isa’s situation?
I’m dying to know more mainly I’m curious about chapter fifteen. The beginning of that chapter threw me off and made me so sad… But still I was hopeful. And oh my freaking god… The ending hurts so much. I was blinded sided. I didn’t see that coming. I need book two now… I need a damn suport group. This book will mess with your head and you will never be the same.
OMG, what in THE hell did I just read? This may be one of the best books I’ve read this year! It’s raw and twisted. This book was the biggest mind-f**k. These characters were intricately complex and the plot twisted as all hell. I absolutely loved Isa and Bryant. Classic case of good girl falls for bad boy, but not everything is as it seems.
This author likes to sift her fingers into your mind unknowingly and wiggle them around until you’re hit with a total mindf**k and left with a major book hangover when it ends.
This addictive story will have your head spinning and craving for more. Because no matter the level of sick or crazy, it’s a captivating and unputdownable book. I just couldn’t stop reading and never wanted it to end.
Having read previous books from this author, I knew I had to give in to the story and not overthink what might be going on, because Amo Jones is a master when it comes to twisted books. She has a way of spinning her stories in such a shocking way that there’s no chance anyone could predict what’s happening. So, the best way to enjoy her books is to know as little as possible, leap into it, let yourself be pulled into this crazy world and enjoy the wild ride.
Regarding the level of craziness, it’s such a twisted story that even halfway through the book, I didn’t know shit about what was going on. A few things got clearer farther down the road but at the end, I was speechless and had no idea what was real and what wasn’t.
I’m not getting into the storyline here because the less you know about the book the more you will enjoy it. Just so much: This is definitely not your everyday kind of read.
Bryant Royal was a character I had to warm up to at first because he wasn’t the nicest in the beginning, but he still managed to pull me in and onto his dark side. It was thrilling to say the least. However, I came to love him later on when his heart thawed a fraction.
Isa definitely found her perfect match with Bryant. This was clear for me from the very beginning because both had absolute craziness tendencies.
The author knows how to put her readers through the wringer because you wouldn’t know what’s happening even when it smacked you right upside the head since nothing can be trusted. When you think you know what’s going on, you’re still wrong. This makes her stories so special because the author is so unpredictable. She has a special talent and her writing is like no one else’s. She also brings out the dark side of me because let me tell you that I haven’t cussed as much in my entire life as during this read.
This was one of the books that got better and better with each page and was so hard to put down. I was glued to the pages and never wanted it to end. So, you can imagine how I feel about waiting for the next book to come out. You know, I’m not above begging so pleeeeeeeaaaaaasssssseee hurry up and give us the next book. =P
4 Stars:
When you’re reading an Amo’s story, when do you even begin. No words to justify what I have just read.
Blackmail, intrigue, mindfucked and total confusion. The ending needed to be read again to fully comprehend what had I just read.
This girl does not need a warning, you should know what you are in for.
Sorry about the vague review but you will want to experience this story with no clue to what’s going on.

Wow… EPIC story once again!!
I was turned inside out and upside down by all that was going on in this book!
This is not a story for the faint of heart, be warned this is totally dark, totally twisted but totally insanely great, with an ending that will leave you speechless and wondering ‘what the hell just happened?’
I’m so freaking excited but also a little scared to see how far Amo will take this series!!
Be sure to buckle up as this sure is going to be one heck of a bumpy ride!

Amo is one of those authors where I don’t read the blurb I just jump straight in knowing it’s going to be a messed up plot somewhere. She is Queen of mind games. You can also 100% guarantee you won’t see what’s coming. No way are her books ever going to be called predictable. CBH was no exception!
So when I started to read this, I got half way through thinking Ok this is quite tame for Amo, the plot so far is full of secrets but on the whole straightforward until it wasn’t! Not many books leave me looking like a blow up doll at the end but hers definitely do; THE plot twist felt like I had been sucker punched! Love authors that make you question everything you have just read. It made me want to go back and re-read with a different perspective.
Told from a dual POV, the plot for the most part is steady paced advancing in timeframes every now and then. The book keeps you on edge and alert at all times picking up on every single dangling carrot that is keeping us focused. The female MC is what we have come to expect; sassy, no brain filter, tough and about as far removed from a damsel in distress as you can get. Her male MCs are typical arrogant, powerful and full of ulterior motives that you are instantly drawn to them and Bryant was no exception. Even the secondary characters are interesting and fundamental to the plot rather than just fillers. My brain actually feels fried right now!
For all Amo fans, you are going to love this, it’s what you have come to expect from the Queen of dark and twisted. If you haven’t read any of this author previously; slap yourself upside the head and pick up this book right now. I guarantee you will be left gobsmacked!
~ 4.5 Dark and Mysterious Stars ~
First and foremost, Amo Jones DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. I signed up for Crowned By Hate without even reading the blurb. I don’t need to. It doesn’t matter what it says, I’m going to read it. So that means that I went into this book completely blind. At first, I was questioning how I was going to get that signature darkness in this book with a daughter of a US President without telling some type of story that we’ve haven’t already heard. However, it only took a short time before I realized that I was stupid in even doubting it. We never get what we think we are getting from Jones and that is such a huge compliment.
Isa seems like your typical bad girl. The rebellious one who grew up in politics and is itching to be set free. But once you start getting her background, you realize that it might be true but she’s got a past on her that would mess anyone up. She’s strong and independent. She’s feisty and out outspoken. Yet all it takes is Bryant Royal to tame her a bit. Or so it would appear. Little did we know that there’s more to Bryant and Isa that meets the eye. He may be her enemy and he may have weaseled his way to get her to marry him, but there’s something underlying there that we just don’t know about.
Bryant. He deserves his own one word sentence. He’s dark and mysterious with a charm that will attack like a rattlesnake. One minute you’ll hate him, the next minute you’ll love him. One thing is for sure. You’ll love the progression with him and Isa. I was dying for them to connect and get past that passionate hate. It’s always a thin line between love and hate, right? But what exactly is it that he hates? That’s what we get to learn and experience a little bit and it’s all over the place. Love and hate. That’s what he does to you.
Crowned by Hate is dark and dangerous with one hell of a mind game. Go ahead and try to keep guessing what is going on. Every time I felt good about something, it turned bad. Every time I thought I knew where it was going, it went a completely different direction and I loved every moment of it. I can’t wait to see what we have in store for the rest of this story. I know it’s going to be deliciously dark, hauntingly beautiful, and emotionally nerve-wracking.
“Bryant Royal is calculated, smart, coherent. He’s one hundred steps ahead of the human race and about three steps behind God. ”
Days later, I’m still REELING from this twisted insanity, where I fell in love with who I thought was the bad guy….and once again, this Author takes what you know, crumples it up, eats it for lunch, and gives you back a scrambled brain. You will want to read, then read again, then read again to make sure you got it…but it will mark you like an 8th grade hickey and you will love it!!! It made my little dark heart leap for joy, scream for more, and sit and contemplate my grip on my sanity…I’m head over heels for the eerie undertones, shroud of mystery, epic plot twists, hot as Hades couples, and giggle worthy banter that this Author gives in spades each and every time, and not once have I ever been disappointed. All I can say is don’t jump in this pool if you can’t swim baby, but you won’t want to get out once you do!!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!!

Hold on minute. I loved this book. But What The Ever-loving Hell Did I Just Read. Seriously someone please explain it to me because I’m lost.
So if you read anything previously form this particular author then you know that her style is bordering on crazy, dark and twisted but she does it really well. I personally love her style and her story, it’s kinda unique. Anyway I knew going in that it’s going to be pretty messed up but I didn’t expect this at all.
It was phenomenal; I devoured it and while I didn’t understood everything I thought I have a pretty great grasp of things. You know, a nymphomaniac troubled girl get pressured into a marriage she doesn’t really want and then slowly but surely they form an unexpected connection apart from the crazy sexual chemistry. But wait, then comes the last chapter and everything blows up in your face. MINDBLOW!! It was so surprising and confusing but for some reason it works. It leaves you with hundreds of possibilities; different directions the story can go on, also looking back you realize that the book is actually full of hidden messages. This is an intricate web of secrets and lies.
So the story is narrated in dual POV. Once there is Isa, the daughter of the president who has some abandonment issues and a pretty strong sex addiction. She is mouthy and sarcastic, a free spirit who is pretty open for crazy shenanigans. However she is well aware of her problems and the root of them (or is she) he just doesn’t care much about them. I can’t say that I could relate to her or that she is particularly sympathetic but I still liked her character. It was unique and original, it’s really rare to see a story told by this kind of personality although I loved that there were particularly none of the slut stereotypes used.
Then there is Bryant, who is powerful, crazy, dominant and dangerous. Personally I don’t completely get his motives for the actions he performs, but who cares. He was hot and it was so cute to see him start to develop feelings towards Isa. Whom he wants to hate. I wouldn’t wish a man like him for myself but I loved his character and the things he represented. The combination of him and Isa worked so well, and not just because of their sexual compatibility. As for the erotic part of the story, it is definitely not for the faint hearted.
This book was and insane story but a delicious one. Especially with that big twist at the ending I can’t wait for the next book, unfortunately there are no news about it yet. Crossing fingers that it’s gonna happen sooner than later.
Well, I have no words, not really, but hell this book is one of the best Mind Fu*ks I have read.
I am not going to say much as I don’t want to spoil it and I don’t think there is much I can say that will not be a spoiler. So go in blind and just enjoy the ride.
The story the writing is brilliant, Talk about the emotional roller coaster I felt while reading. Angry, sad, confused. loving/hating characters. I had to reread the last few chapters a few times and I still cannot get my head around any of it… totally messed with me.
All the way through I thought I was working things out and nothing is what I was expecting , so you can try and work out what you think will happen and good for you if you do, but I am still trying to work out exactly what the hell is going on, I need book 2 ASAP!!! I need answers.
I am not 100% sure, how I am feeling right now Confused, Mind blown, WOW. It is just perfection. I will highly recommend this book.
This is a super vague review like always with Amo Jones’ books because why would I spoil this story for any one else?
I thought I was doing pretty good with my (many) theories about this book…until I got near the end and Amo blew them all apart. I’m literally sat here scratching my head. I admit some of my theories were really out there but I didn’t see most of the twists that were coming.
Amo Jones is the queen of f*cked up, mind twisting reads and this book is no different. I expect certain things from this authors books. I expect a strong, kick***, take no s*** female and an a$$hole man who I’m going to love even when I try my hardest not to. I expect the sex scenes to be the kind that makes your knickers disintegrate and I expect there to be some humour/sarcasm thrown in. I expect to be left with more questions than answers…Amo really surpassed herself with this one in particular. Crowned by Hate exceeded every one of my expectations, even ones I didn’t know I had. This book had me constantly guessing what was going to happen and really kept me on my toes. You need to go into this expecting to get your mind messed with big time and you need to understand that you are probably going to be left with a lot of what seem to be unanswered questions but with this been the first book in this trilogy, you just know this series is going to get more confusing before you get your answers.
Another mind blowing book from Amo Jones that’s left me desperate for more.
Have you ever wanted to read one of those books that totally messes with your head? Where you know that your gonna find it difficult to put a review together as your heads so messed up?? Well get reading Crowned by Hate. It really is an epic read that will play with your mind.
So last night and I read 60% of this book. Going great. Thought it’s a great read and I’ll look forward to reading the rest tomorrow. This afternoon I’ve sat down to finish it and I’m like wtf. The last quarter of this book has blown the ratings through the roof. I’m not gonna go into the storyline except to say it’s brilliant.
This is my first read by this author. If her other books are anything like this please let me know. Hope we don’t need to wait too long to read book two as this was an awesome read and I need more.
CROWNED BY HATE was my first book by Amo Jones. I’ve been told she’s pretty epic when it comes to f###ing with your mind. Uhm, guys, that’s an understatement. Never in a million years would I have seen coming a twist of giant proportions like this one. There was not one hint, not one tiny grain-of-dust-sized clue that would have indicated what was about to happen.
I appreciate the warning you can find a couple pages before the actual ending though: “…you’re about to get a rude awakening.” If you’re not a fan of cliffhangers heed that freaking warning! Because I, of course, didn’t! Gah!
I bow to Amo Jones for completely blindsiding me.
Blackmail, darkness, mindgames, blood, utter WTF-moments … this book is all deliciously dark and twisty goodness with an unique and ingeniously warped and shocking storyline that makes it hard to put it down. The writing style is amazing and fast-paced… which brings me to my only complaint: I love dark and dangerous heroes who discover they surprisingly have a heart when meeting their match, but here it felt like Bryant made an one-eighty much too fast, much too abruptly, his thirst for blood suddenly completely gone. The twists and turns wouldn’t stop coming either way, but I surely missed his dark side.
And that’s about all I’m going to say about the plot and the characters. Buckle up, hold on tight to the oh-s##t-handle and enjoy the mind-boggling ride!
Can I have the sequel now?
Okay, so … this book.
I almost always include a quote or two from whatever book I’m reviewing, because, ya know, I love words. But … this time, I just couldn’t pick a passage or a line that didn’t give something away. And trust me when I tell you that I can’t give you ANYTHING.
If you follow Amo on social media, you’ll have seen her posts about Crowned and wonder why the heck anyone would read something so dark and twisted (her words, not mine). For me, I’d follow Amo almost anywhere, so here I followed into the crazy world of Isa and Bryant.
Isa’s life is the epitome of privilege, seeing as she is the daughter of the president of the US. With privilege comes responsibility, so Isa must play the dutiful daughter on far more occasions than she would like. On one such occasion she meets Bryant Royal, who doesn’t exactly leave a favorable impression on her. But if you read the blurb …
How the heck does find herself headed down the aisle toward such an unfavorable, one might even argue sinister, man like Bryant?
This marriage, as you may have guessed, was not born out of love, but out of … let’s call it obligation. But, it seems like there’s something else there … something brewing around them, and inside them, that is unstable and possibly … lethal?
At this point in the story, I’m seeing that this book is dark, but no lie, I’m just not catching on to the hype that has been blasted about this story. It seems like just another dark-ish romance, that doesn’t have much going on behind the scenes and will be just another predictable storyline. Then … well, the one thing goes down. And then the other thing happens. Then you learn about …the stuff, and … and … THE ENDING?! Twisted doesn’t even begin to cover the path that this story went down.
I will say that there were some parts that I wished gave me more. I can’t expand on those right now (#spoilers), but it’s nothing that takes away from the story. I always want to know more of the why when characters are making choices and when you see a major change in their personality or mannerisms.
Some characters … were left a little flat, but looking back after the ending, I think this was intentional. If we know too much now, there will be nothing left later. I’ll expand on this after the story comes to its conclusion.
So, guys… I’m not sure if you noticed, but I read A LOT. I have always read a lot and my interests are varied (although I blog a lot of romance). This story, seriously, MADE IT. Like, I’m an Amo ride or die, but … I was thinking I wasn’t going to be able to review this book positively — that’s how far down I was. But this is seriously a pretty ambitious plot. There’s a lot that could go wrong, but there’s so much that could go right.
Amo Jones is known for giving us reads that are dark, twisted and nothing at all what we expect them to be. Crowned by Hate is the latest in her psychological mind-bending way of storytelling.
Isa Johnson is the president’s daughter, but she is not the prim and proper young lady that she is supposed to be. She is the black sheep of the family, a loud rebel who doesn’t care about the money and power. Only she is about to marry the most powerful man in the country. Bryant Saint Royal is the devil and his penthouse her hell.
What did I just read?! That was an epically disturbing and mind shattering book, and that’s just the beginning. That’s right there is a cliffhanger, and it will blow apart every assumption you make while reading. I want to say so much, but I just can’t. I do not want to spoil this for anyone. If you like Amo’s pervious works, then you will love this. This is a super short review and I hope the boss ladies don’t mind because there is no way I can keep going without letting something slip! If Amo is a favorite author or if you just enjoy this genre pick this one up, I promise you will not regret it! FIVE stars.
