An against-all-odds & forbidden rockstar romanceAfter surviving the long and excruciating recruitment process, I thought I would end up working for Madonna or the CIA at the very least.Boy, was I wrong.Even in my wildest dreams I couldn’t have imagined what I was in for. What my heart was in for.I couldn’t have possibly fathomed the lifestyle, the responsibility, how much it would take out of … responsibility, how much it would take out of me, the inner battles, and mostly, the emotional whirlwind.
I could never have imagined, prepared myself for, or anticipated…
Him.
It was supposed to be a job. Just a temporary job. Just a few months. Just a short stop before the journey I was about to take to follow my dream.
It was supposed to be a lot of things…but not this.
Little did I know it would be the one event that would shape me, would change me, would bring on such a shift in the balance of my world.
Would bring…
Him.
Would bring…
Them.
Both.
Into my life.
*UNPLUGGED is the first part in a two-part series; it has a cliffhanger-ish ending.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book.
A really nice feel-good and wholesome rock romance, with low angst, low steam and an all around cast of great characters. Both main characters, Ivi and Tyler and level headed and fun to read about. Unplugged is told solely from Ivi’s POV and it is part of a duet and ends in a cliffhanger.
Ivi is a simple, fun, smart girl coming from a small town in Estonia. She does a lot of volunteering work all over the world, helping fight against poverty and human trafficking. In order to save some money for her next mission, she takes a 6-month job as the nanny for Tyler’s 10 year old son. Tyler is a famous rock star, just getting to know his kid.
This book has a bit of everything: witty banter, hate to love vibes, passion, funny moments. There are a few communication issues but I liked how down to earth and self confident Ivi is. She decides to live in the moment and that is very refreshing.
I also appreciated the commentary on inequality, poverty, the need to volunteer. All in all, a very entertaining and fun book!
So I went into this kinda blind and for that I’m so glad! This book was so beautiful and super sweet. I mean, most rock star aren’t like Tyler Lee.. He’s on top of the world with women worshiping him everywhere he goes. When he has down time and his son comes to visit, he hires a nanny to help. Enter Ivi.. she’s a gem! I swear her giving her and her willingness to help others makes her have this glow about her. People just flock around her for the goodness she brings to world. She works for an organization that helps builds schools and other things that countries so desperately need. She a giver and she brings goodness to Tyler Lee and everyone around him. Despite the shock of finding out her biggest crush is now her boss and hiding her feelings from him, she bonds with his kid and sees a different to Tyler because of it. These two build a bond that is super strong and really romantic but there’s that one thing that hangs over there heads.. What happens when she leaves and do they have a future together? With how much I loved this book and all the characters in it, I’m so ready and excited to read Vol 2 and see how this all plays out!!!!! Tyler and Ivi are amazing together and have so much heart between them!! This book was great!!!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Ivi, in between charitable missions, goes to work as a nanny for six months. When she realizes that she is the nanny for a rock god, Ivi is excited but Tyler sure does not want her to stay. Over the six months that she nannies for him, they grow closer together and feelings get blurred. At the end of her time though, she must leave to go on her mission.
Opinion
Who doesn’t like stories about music legends? We’ve all dreamed of being the one to catch our idols eye. This story tells how a normal woman does just that. Getting to live vicariously through Ivi was a fun ride.
With book two coming out at the end of the year, I look forward to finding out what happened after the mission trip.
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this book.
A deliciously slow, warm and languorous romance.
Ivi Kert flew from Estonia to LA in the US knowing she’s be someone’s nanny, she never imagined it would be the ten year old son no one knows about of one of the biggest and hottest rock stars in the world and therefore was not prepared when faced with him, much less cohabitate with him, with both of them, for the next six months.
Ivi is not the kind of woman who shies away from a challenge or an adventure easily, but this job will require her to open her heart to these two people and cause her an emotional upheaval that will change her life forever. What will she do when the time comes to say goodbye?
I’ve been a Sigal Ehrlich fan from the beginning, loving her writing style which pulls me into the story from each chapter’s epigraphs, to richly detailed descriptions, to the subject matter which in this Unplugged’s case is a wonderfully angsty love story.
Ivi’s first encounter with her boss is anything but normal, especially when he tries to get rid of her a few hours later. He’s less than happy with her presence in his home and she’s not shy about putting him in his place, besides she’s there for his son, not him. Even though Ivi is fairly young and inexperienced in love, she knows her own mind, knows what she wants and in general is a tough cookie whose biggest dream is to go to missions wherever help is needed. She’s impossible not to love.
As for our cantankerous hero, I’ll put him in pause for a bit to talk about the other awesome man in the book. Jeremy, Tyler Lee’s son is truly adorable. A sweet boy and somewhat of a know it all who can state long facts about almost anything in the cutest fashion, causing Ivi to repeatedly tell him to read children’s books and carve a special place for him in her heart.
Even though Tyler was certainly aware and attracted to Ivi from the moment they met, it was the bond between her and his son that most assuredly thawed his cranky exterior. As they spend time together Ivi gets to know the stripped down version of the rock star. Tyler unplugged is flesh and blood human with a somewhat sad upbringing, who wants to get to know and love his son and while doing so, falls for the sassy nanny.
The relationship between Ivi and Tyler is slow and seductive. I got swept away in every alluring minute of it, from the struggles and tears, to the longing and irresistible surrender. They have the forbidden issues that come with a boss-employee relationship, there’s also the fact that Tyler has never had a serious relationship and Ivi has to learn to navigate the rock star lifestyle, and finally there’s the fact that Ivi’s time in LA has an expiration date as she has big, very laudable plans for when her job is finished, but the bond they form is strong enough for them to work to keep it. I can’t wait to see how they do.
Unplugged is book #1 in the Unplugged duet by Sigal Ehrlich. It is a standalone, contemporary romance, told from the heroine’s point of view with a semi cliffhanger.
Good story. Buy the sequel also.
love it
Loved this book would recommend
Good read. Ends in a cliff-hanger.
It was a fun book to read but to let N.H. to get to point.
When’s #2 coming put
Warning: ends on a cliffhanger and the next book is not out yet.
This book was surprising. Even though it was a bit predictable it still took me by surprise. I am dying for book 2 to come out but I am not finding any information on it. The character building in this book is fabulous–yes it brought tears to my eyes. Read it–you will love it.
i liked it cant wait for 2nd book to come out
Fantastic can’t wait for the sequel
Can’t wait for the next book
Wasn’t that much of a story but it sure took a lot of pages to tell it. A good premise but not much depth. There is NOT a HEA and is a cliff hanger.
As a fan of rockstar romances I’ve read many releases from a variety of authors. Though this is my first time reading a story from Sigal Ehrlich, it definitely won’t be my last. From its likable characters, to the slow-burn forbidden romance between a famous rockstar and a small town nanny, readers will find this an entertaining story that easily pulls you into the rockstar world. Much about the romance between Ivi and Tyler feels familiar, but that doesn’t make it any less enjoyable as these two people have to work hard to overcome their different backgrounds while finding time to care for the young and charming Jeremy. It’s a bumpy road for these two, a juggling of what the heart wants and what’s best for those you love. The more time Ivi and Tyler interact, the more sizzling their connection becomes and the more I cheer for them to reach their HEA.
Ivi doesn’t know what to expect when she becomes nanny to the son of a famous rockstar, but she’s only caretaking for a few months before moving on to the job of her dreams…so it won’t be too bad. Little does she know the profound affect her new job will have on her as her heart quickly becomes entangled with both father and son. When readers first meet Ivi they see someone young and somewhat naive to the ways of the world. She has a big heart though and a desire to help others, focusing on the mission work that will start in a few months. Things become much less clear though once she meets Tyler and Jeremy, once she starts to care for both of them. She and Jeremy are a sweet sight to see as she encourages him to be the little boy his age reveals instead of the mini-adult he’s been acting like. The sparks fly once she and Tyler meet, with her protection of Jeremy being the impetus to their burgeoning romance. She’s drawn to Tyler and through their continuing interactions she discovers the down-to-earth man behind the playboy facade in a slow-burn teeming with sexual tension. From the very start, through each turn of the page, Ivi is the kind of heroine you can’t help but like. She’s a truly good person, one who knows what she wants, and goes after it in a world she’s desperately trying to navigate while juggling the desires of her heart and mind when it comes to Jeremy and Tyler.
In many ways Tyler is the proverbial rockstar playboy, a man who enjoys all the feminine attention along with the glitz of the rockstar world. He’s a bit arrogant early on, someone used to getting everything he wants. The more readers get to know him though, the more likable he becomes. Never being in a relationship before, he jumps into this one with a bit of trepidation while revealing a backstory that’s a bit sad. He’s clearly a great dad, and much of the story revolves around Tyler getting to know his son better, which warmed my heart and endeared him to me all the more. Tyler might not be a perfect hero, but he’s willing to work hard to get there, and it made for a sensual journey full of push/pull.
The first book of this duet ends with a pseudo-cliffhanger, one readers have seen before as Tyler’s rockstar lifestyle is a roadblock to his and Ivi’s HEA. It’s a cliffhanger that’s immediately addressed in the next book so readers won’t have to wait too long for a resolution, but it’s also a cliffhanger that wasn’t really necessary as the romance between Ivi and Tyler could’ve been nicely wrapped up here. Despite that, this was an entertaining story with appealing characters and I look forward to seeing more of them in the other half of their journey.
Unoriginal and uninspired.

This was a new author for me so I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was very well written and I loved the characters. I am a sucker for a rock star romance and this one was excellent even though there was some angst but not so angsty that I had to stop reading and step back from it to calm myself down which has happened on occasion! I don’t want to give anything away but I must say that it ends on a cliffhanger of sorts. It didn’t bother me too much because Unplugged 2 is already out so I will be purchasing that book asap! Thank you Sigal Ehrlich for a truly excellent read!
