Belle Abbot is pathologically shy, and because of this, she’s living a nightmare due to the fact that she’s also a national treasure hounded by the media. James Bennett is known the world over as the perfect catch, handsome, wealthy and the owner of an intimidating castle on a Cornish Cliff, Chy An Als Point. Belle and James meet, and in one night, they fall in love. The problem is, Belle’s … Belle’s dating James’s brother.
As quickly as they fall together, Belle and James are torn apart. Not long after, circumstances throw them back into each other’s lives and they find they were right that first romantic night, they were meant to be.
Even if their families want them together, James’s brother Miles does not. Dogged by a rabid media who are fascinated by their love triangle, as well as Belle’s hidden demons, James and Belle find they have yet another problem to solve. The Point is haunted by the ghosts of two children murdered in the castle. Their murderer will stop at nothing to keep their souls tethered to The Point instead of letting them live eternity with their mother and father.
Belle is determined to find her courage and help them and she enlists her loopy mother, loopier grandmother, James’s even loopier ex-girlfriend and the dubious (but talented) team of rock ‘n’ roll witch Cassandra McNabb and Scottish ghost hunter extraordinaire Angus McPherson to help the children find their way back home.

Gotta say, I am seriously enjoying KA books in audio format. I loved reading this series the first six or seven times, but it’s another experience to listen to it. I loved Bella, loved James, and completely forgot about how much I enjoyed this book. And after 5 books, I finally got used to the narrator and her male voices. She does do excellent accents and emotional scenes.
Book 5 in Ghost and Reincarnation series you Kristen Ashley
‘Jack’ James Bennett inherited a large castle in Cornwall and at a party his brother Miles brings a stunning date that he can’t take his eye off.
Belle is a very quiet reserve person that has a completely crazy family who are hilarious but they do embarrass her a lot.
At the party Jack meets Belle and the spend an amazing night together but in morning she thinks she was a competition between brothers and leaves.
I absolutely love this book and Belle’s crazy family her mum and famous grandmother moved in with her when she and Jack get back together.
My heart breaks for the incredibly sad story with the ghost children Lewis and Myrtle. Loved that Angus and Cassandra back bad crazy as ever but in this book we get introduced Angus nephew and niece Lachlan and Lorna really hope we find out more about them.
Great HEA
I enjoyed this story, as I do all of Kristen Ashley stories, but this isn’t on the top of my list. I enjoyed the characters and the story, but at times it seemed unrealistic.
The H calls the heroine “Poppet” all the time, but I don’t think KA was going for Pirates of the C.
Anyhoo, in the land of Kristen Ashley’s chauvinistic, bossy, alpha heroes this guy could be King. He is so BOSSY!
The h and H meet and have a ONS when she’s on a date with his brother. But the brother is the bad guy. Hmmmm? Actually he is the bad guy for reasons no one knows until near the end as this is more a ghost story than a romance or technically a book with sex in it. Sorry…sleep deprivation!
The heroine is another high maintenance KA heroine with a crazy mother and grandmother in tow. This heroine makes her own clothes, and is known as the “Tiny Dynamo” since she singlehandedly saved a schoolbus of children and the bus driver from drowning. I’m not making this up. In the midst of the media stalking following her heroism, the H’s brother gloms onto her and asks her home to the castle. “Lucky Stars” is set in England.
After the epic ONS, the heroine overhears about the ongoing competition between the brothers, refuses to listen to the hero that he really is into her, “Poppet”, and leaves the house humiliated. He is very angry she didn’t listen to him.
In true romance form, she ends up pregnant and the hero must have been taking lessons from HP heroes or else the setting got to him because he threatens her with sole custody, has her move in his castle and starts bossing her around some more. Her mother and grandmother move in as well to keep an eye on him.
Side characters are the H and bad brother’s very nice mother and an ex-girlfriend of the H namesd Yazmin who is quite fun. Oh, and there are two ghost children that need fixing so they can go to their just rewards hence the ghost side of the story.
The heroine’s backstory is she was married to a horrible abuser who flits in and out briefly and contributes to the ghost/romance part of the story. I don’t want to say more in case you read it as…SPOILERS. I worry about the heroine though as she seems lower in esteem and IQ than most and has married one abuser, dated a big fat creep and is now pregnant and under the thumb of the bossy H.
HEA as this isn’t just a romance but a fairy tale romance. Trigger issue[She does have a miscarriage so a warning there. (hide spoiler)] There is a lot going on with this one, but the writing didn’t have the same pizzaz Kristen Ashley normally has. Kind of a phone it in on the hero perhaps because there is so much going on, but the cast of crazies was fun, more fun than the two major characters.
There is an insanely sweet resolution for the two ghost children, so a thank you to Ms. Ashley for that.
