This was a tension filled book all the way through until the end when the ending turned out to be very weak and unsatisfying. The plot was unusual and entertaining and if not for the ending I would have rated it higher. I’m noticing so many of these authors write the book and seem unsure how to end it. They tell the story and then rush through the end. I was left wanting a bit more…
Loved it!
Not a bad story, tempted to read next one in seeries

I was offered a free book, The Lord of Chance by Erica Ridley, for an honest review, and I’m very glad I did! I loved the creative story line, and the lovable characters. It all started with a chance meeting gambling at an inn. Anthony and Charlotte ended the last hand of cards with Anthony loosing the wager. Anthony, being a gentleman and a man who honored his losses, manned up and kept his debt to be Charlotte’s maid. He escorted Charlotte to her room, stoking the fire, and ironing her dresses. It started with a playful banter until Anthony and Charlotte find themselves in an awkward situation, being seen together in her room by the hotel owner and all of the nosy guest. Quickly thinking Anthony said it’s ok she’s my wife, and not wanting her reputation to be tarnished, Charlotte followed along and said he was her husband to all who was present. Instead of the two strangers going their separate ways and never see one another again, they find they are married in truth! What happens in Scotland doesn’t always stay in Scotland! Both of them had big problems and secrets that made their lives a truly uncertain adventure.
I’m definitely looking forward to reading the next novel in this series, The Lord of Pleasure!!! Thank you for this fun read!!!
Wonderful romance! Well written, no typos, fully developed characters, a lovely lady and a handsome, lovable scoundrel. a plot with twists and turns and a happy ending. What more could anyone want?!
